Episode Recap: "No Cannes Do"

For once, I am on the same page as Turtle. I too am terrified to fly and I also make myself crazy by doing impromptu profiling as I wait for my flight. Nuns and children make me feel safer; pretty much anyone traveling alone raises my suspicions. But I admire Johnny’s pragmatic approach: not taking sedatives so that you can effectively fight back if needed. And if anything could get me over my flying issues, I’m sure it would be a first-class ride on Kanye West’s private jet. That’s what I call living the dream.

Tonight’s episode provided several laugh-out-loud moments. This is the Entourage that I always enjoy — the one that features Sydney Pollack in the same episode as Sam Nazarian and offers lines like, “We’re at code red every time the president has a loose stool.” (Though I would have enjoyed that more if I hadn’t heard it in the promos all week.)

Eric’s ongoing relationship with his “clush” Anna took a wrong turn. Giving in to pressure from Vince and Billy, he tried to convince her to take a role in the movie. However, as they shared a moment, he came clean that he didn’t feel it was a good script, so she apparently kicked him to the curb. Poor Eric. His failure to sustain any type of relationship with a woman seems to always come back — in some direct or indirect way — to Vince.

Meanwhile, Ari tried to reconcile his domestic guilt with his wild-man impulses and ended up getting in trouble with both Mrs. Ari and Lloyd. “A wife is like a herpes sore — she comes and goes when and where she pleases.” Unfortunately for Ari, she also knows how to shop. But lucky for him, he didn’t have to fund Lloyd’s trip on the Rosie cruise — just his favorite truffles.

Hopefully this streak of quality episodes will continue as Team Chase invades Cannes next week. I want a reason to come back for Season 5.

I am still wondering what happen with Anna and Eric after he told her the truth (a little tryst so Eric can no longer be her manager or did she really kick him to the curb?)...they showed nothing and he was late at the airport, really got me thinking. I saw nothing in the previews for next week so maybe the Anna/Eric plot is out of here. I do like this season how they are developing Ari's relationships, though dysfunctional.

To be honest, I would like to see that Anna/Eric scene as well. Because it wasn't until I read your take on it Trish that I put two and two together.

My problem with this season is that it literally takes 20 minutes for the show to take off. Then I am left with a measly 7 minutes of pure entertainement. Over the past week, the hubby and I went back and watched the first three seasons on DVD and can now recognize what other critics and fans were saying about this season being a let down in many ways. I really hope they pick it back up--but I do think the more Ari the better!

Something must happen at Canne, because I don't want all this Walsh anymore! Even though his surrending to "friendship" was great.

Yea, I too think Anna and Eric hooked up. I think it was clear thats what happpened, and he just told Vince she fired him as a cover.

I also think they are setting it up for Vince to make a decision between Eric and Walsh. Especially since I have a feeling Medillian is not gonna do as well as they think it is and Billy will be blamed for it.

I have a feeling that the Walsh Factor has also run it's course, but Ari will save the day because he knows if Eric doesn't like something, it usually rings true.

As for E and Anna - something happened that will probably carry over to next season - maybe E is keeping this relationship secret given the drama (no pun intended) he went thru from the guys about Sloan.

I liked how Kanye showed up and it was Turtle who ultimately saved the day - the guy Ari wanted to throw under the bus. Plus it's a good look for Kanye given the CD is coming out soon. Plus anytime Melyssa Ford shows up anywhere - that can only be described as a good thing - esp. from Ari's P.O.V.

Nuns and children make me feel safer; pretty much anyone traveling alone raises my suspicions.--Don't the majority of people flying fly alone? I would think mostly business people? I've flown alone several times to visit family.

I wish you had listed some of the great lines from last night. I can't remember them all, but I know I laughed out loud several times.

Are the writers trying to make us forget that Mrs. Ari has her own money?

I can't believe next week is it until next summer most likely! I'm going to have Ari withdrawals.

Given Eric's antipathy to pretty well anything Walsh and Vince have done this season, I wish he had resigned as Vince's manager and stuck with Anna

Mrs. Ari mentioned that it "is my money too".

I loved the episode and thought that Sydney Pollack's cameo was great! I also loved Kanye's "little" plane!

I have heard a bit about the Canne finale and it should be great!

Does anybody know when Entourage will start it's next season?

I'm obviously in the minority, but I liked this season - maybe I just like all the characters so I'm not thinking clearly. I think they are exploring more of each person individually than as a group in the past - Anyway, I'm sure it will get back on track. I just have to say - I just love Lloyd - he makes me laugh the most.
