Jennie Garth is Tango-licious!

Mel B jives to the top! Melanie Brown, Maksim Chmerkovskiy by Carol Kaelson/ABC
Episode Recap

Tango! Tango! Tango! And the jive! Without a doubt, Jennie Garth was my pick of the tango dances! You could see the fire and anger in her face, which is what the tango is all about! I was glad to see her strike back after her slip last week! She didn't score the highest, but I think her improvement was the most notable. Way to go, Jennie!

Jane Seymour also had a great tango. Loved the wig! Very Bond girl! The death of her mother may have her down, but she is not out. She'll be in the competition for the long haul! Did anyone else think Carrie Ann poured the cheese on a little too thick? It was nice that she was moved by Jane's dance, but I couldn't help but wonder if she was going to break out and cry!

So who had a bad tango? Cameron Mathison did! It was not his technique, but I thought they spoofed the tango. How dare they mock the mother of all ballroom dances!? They took the passion out of it and made it quirky, which I did not care for at all. The technique was there, but they didn't do the tango justice! Edyta, you're better than that!

Now, I promised a few blogs back not to cut up on Wayne Newton anymore, and I am a woman of my word. So I will simply say that I enjoyed the ponytail and mustache but I think his seventy five Arabian horses at La Rancha de Blah Blah miss him and he should spend some more time there...now!

Marie Osmond surprised me again. She accomplished what I think Edyta and Cameron tried to do, and lightened up the tango — but not too much. She kept the fire and form! I agreed with Len Goodman 100% when he said he did not think she would be any good in this competition. We were wrong. She has been at the top every week and she could only get better from here!

Sabrina Bryan and Mel B had the top jives of the night. This was not a surprise but nonetheless I enjoyed their dances and was glad to see the energy. Mel B's split made me cross my legs — she gave birth not so long ago! Yeow! Good for you, Mel!

My Helio only scores a 24! Seriously, I adore him so much I might have to start watching his races and I really hate race car driving! I worry he is running out of steam! He's doing so well that he's not going to improve as fast as some of the other dancers. I hope the voters don't give up on him! He can push it to the next level. I know it!

Sadly, my lame duck award of the night goes to Mark Cuban. He has the drive but not the goods! I'm sure it was a tough dance for him, with the bum hip and all, but I still don't see him lasting much longer. But if he goes before Wayne I'll be upset!

Jennie Garth was not the only one to improve tonight. Floyd Mayweather had a great jive! He still looked a bit tense to me. Did he not let go? Was he nervous? I couldn't put my finger on it. But I thought this dance was a step up from his previous two dances. If you pair Mark Cuban's tenacity with Floyd's natural skill, you'd have one tough competitor! Keep it up, Floyd!

So that's the scoop on week three. What did you think about the performances? Who are you voting for? Will the results shock us again like last week? Tune in next time and we'll cheer or cry foul together!

Marie: I feel that Marie should have received all 9's. her movements were great as well as her facial expressions. Thanks, Forgetful

I have to say this season has the best dancers evah! And how great a job is Drew Lachey doing? His questions actually make sense! Please keep him on the show!!

Great show tonight! I liked Helio's jive better than Floyd's. Floyd did do better tonight, but I didn't see a "bounce" in his step which they were commending Mel B for. I hope Wayne or Mark go home tomorrow. Preferably Wayne and his phony-tail, which I HATED by the way.

I fell asleep during Jennie's dance so I didn't see how well she did. Hope she stays to the next round. Did not think Carrie Ann was carrying the cheese. Those tears were genuine to me. Jane Saymour should be proud of herself and thank her mum for such a great gift. I think Wayne Newton should go. Both Cheryl and Floyd had so much fun with Drew. Yeah, Drew's great!

I miss the Cheryl Burke of yesteryear. She seems to be resigned to the fact that she doesn't have a chance and is missing the drive & spirit she used to show so readily. I miss her flippy hair, too. :)

This is my first season watching the show and I am hopelessly addicted.

I wanted to see Jane Seymour dance, knowing that she has back problems, is my age, and her mother loved the English version of the show. Her 92 year old mum had a stroke late last year. Jane asked her mum if she should do the show. Her mum managed to smile and say yes.

Jane called her mnum everyday she was not home to talk to her about the show and then went home on weekends. So I think that constant communication and those weekend trips talking about the show kept both their spirits up to the end.

I think Jane Seymour is an elegant and graceful dancer. So even though the judges did not think her dance last week was sexy enough, I appreciate the grace and elegance she shows every week.

Now Marie Osmond -that is one hot momma when it comes to dancing. She puts it all out there in drama and dancing and she really deserves to win it all. I love her tenacity and drive.

And what is up with Floyd? He is an extremely hard worker, but it is as if all that boxing tightened and shortened his muscles so he is not limber enough to move and flex his muscles. Either that or he is so sore he cannot move to much. I dont know. But I agree wiht the judges if he could just be a bit more limber he would be in the top contenders.

I never thought I would watch this show and now I cannot miss a week. What these dancers accomplish every week is amazing.

There definitely were some decent tangoes tonight, I was impressed with Jennie's and amused by Marie's, but Sabrina's jive felt like the only true one. The music the producers or whoever choose each week should reflect the dance better and not just have the right beat. It looked and sounded like Sabrina and Mark were really at a sock-hop, whereas I found it incredibly distracting that Julianne and Helio were dancing to the song from the movie, "Clueless".

And I hated the one they gave Cameron and Edyta for the tango. It made the whole experience somewhat ridiculous.

As for who goes, I'm praying it will be Wayne Newton, because Mr. Las Vegas or not, he creeps me out, but I'm betting it will probably be Mark Cuban, especially after he lost a beat and fell behind.

I say this every year, and here I go again! The show is great, but whoever chooses the music sometimes seems to be on drugs! They should get music that supports the dance style! When you Tango to Sonny and Cher, it JUST DOESN"T WORK! You can have a better technique, but without the Latin influence of the music, it just looks bad. Does anyone know who or how the music is chosen? If I got stuck with that as the dancer, I would refuse! It's like a penalty right from the start! I'm sure Cameron and Edyta's same dance with a Tango song would have looked a whole lot different!

I agree with the music selection being a problem sometimes. The Beat Goes On is not a good tango song. Wayne and Cheryl had the archetypal tango music, but unfortunately Wayne is too old to be in this competition, and it was all for naught. He should have gone last week, not Albert, and he should go this week.

I don't see why anyone would dislike Anna, by the way. I thought she seemed like a likable person, always game for what gets tossed her way. Her playing along with Albert's goofiness was endearing, doing the sprinkler, lawnmower, and other silly dance moves with him (and how cute was that elevator going down move?). I liked her when she was paired with Jerry Rice in season two, as well.

I like Marie Osmond, but I didn't think she deserved quite that high score. Maybe 24. I thought Helio deserved a higher score, maybe 26. Right now I have my final four as Sabrina, Helio, Jennie, and Mel B, with Sabrina being the overall best dancer. It would be nice for a woman to win again, and since I missed season one, I only know about the Kelly Monaco upset win over the apparently better John O'Hurley from reading about it.

I don't think Floyd will make it to even the final six...not with Jane and Marie definitely better than him. Cameron might be the Ian Ziering of this season, but I don't see him making it to the final six, either. Mark should go after Wayne.

This is definitely the most impressive season out of the blocks, but I've yet to see anyone surpass some of the greatest performances in DWTS history, like Drew and Cheryl's paso doble, or Mario and Karina's even superior paso, or Stacy and Tony's two week blockbusting string of samba and jive, when they scored triple 10s for each. But it's still early, and I think when we get to the end, we can expect some amazing dances from the frontrunners.

I still really liked Helio's dance. You can really feel how much fun he is having and in turn it makes it fun for you.

I thought Floyd still looked flat footed to me but a bit better.

Wayne, well, he looked the part but it's really hard to take him seriously and I agree that Cheryl's attitude is different this season.

I thought Mark Cuban was pretty good. Still looks like a guy in a club over doing it to attract a girl.

Cameron's dance was pretty good but I can see where he branched away from the original dance.

The women as well were good, all of them. I really enjoyed Jane's dance and Jennie Garth. I don't really like Mel B personality and it clouds how I see her dance. I *loved* the humor in Marie's dance, and she did it well.

I didn't enjoy Sabrina's dance even though it was in a league of it's own. It's hard rooting for her when it's now pretty obvious that she came into the competition on a whole different level than everyone else. Last season a lot of people said this about Joey Fatone and I kind of dismissed it because the "boy band" dancing doesn't seem like dancing to me. I thought Apollo had just an advantage by being an athlete in such great shape, used to the physical challenge and the timing involved in skating. I have never seen the Cheetah Girls(I have young boys so we watch a lot of Drake and Josh instead) so I don't know how much or how intricate the dancing is but it's either she is an amazing learner(which I thought at first) or has some skills to start with. I think it's the latter. Even though technically it's good, I don't feel like she is having all that much fun and it was hard to get connected. The only thing I liked about her dance this time was the music. I thought it was finally a song that lent itself well to a live band. The rest of the music for the night was just awful!

Now that Drew has loosened up, I like him so much more than Samantha Harris. Please keep him on next season too!!

It seemed that Cameron's tango wasn't passionate or sexy, but with that song... How could it be?? I love him on All My Children, and he has done some smoldering hot scenes on the show so we know he can do sexy. He needs the right dance with the right music. And I am surprised to say I like Mark Cuban. I am a huge Mavericks fan and have always thought he was the biggest jerk. He is not the best dancer but he seems to be trying the best.

Entering the season, my pick was Cameron Mathison. He absolutely smolders on AMC, and when I saw he had the tango this week I was ready for Edyta and Cam to rock the house. Edyta even pointed out that they had the secret weapon with Cam's acting ability. Instead we had a laughable spoof of a tango to ridiculous music, and though it kills me to say it, I'm afraid Cameron's just not that talented. Oh well.
The first couple of weeks I thought Sabrina was getting too much love, but she's growing on me. She has skills and crazy energy, and their jive made me smile.
For some reason Mel B doesn't make much of an impression on me. I can never remember her dances very well.
I also loved Jennie's tango. Good for you, girl.
Sometimes I think Jane is just over-the-top, but last night she was clearly dealing with a ton of emotion, and her tango was a masterpiece. Tony clearly went above-and-beyond as a partner and was feeling it almost as much as Jane was. Just another of those classic moments to remind me why I am addicted to this show.
Did not love Marie's tango. I am having difficulty with the transition from America's Sweetheart to One Hot Latin Mama -slash - cougar. I guess I loved her and Donny when they were kids and can't quite deal with the grownup versions.
Krista, I love your take on Wayne and couldn't have said it better. He needs to go now.
Given that the jive was so scary for Mark Cuban's hip, I wonder why they couldn't have done a tango instead? That I might have liked. The jive was a lot of Mark standing around and Kym trying to garner all the attention. I hope he doesn't last much longer. His gritty determination and win-at-all-costs attitude is wearing thin.
On the other hand, I like that attitude for Floyd. His determination is resulting in steady improvement. He is not the best dancer. The poster who mentioned that he seems tight, maybe because he has "boxing muscles," was right on. However, Floyd is fun to watch because he always looks like he is having fun.
Ditto Helio. I felt that the judges were easier on the women than the men in general last night, and Helio suffered the most. I loved his jive and thought he deserved to be in the top tier.

The women ROCKED last night!!

I'm not a fan of Mel B but I had to admit she was great last night. I was very impressed with the bounce in her dance.

I'm so proud of Jennie. She proved to everyone not to count her out, at least not yet.

I don't think anyone does facial expressions as well as Marie. My mouth dropped when she finished her dance with that split in the air.

Jane's tango had the passion it required.

I found Drew a bit stiff on week 1 but he's definitely loosened up and I'm now liking him. I wouldn't mind seeing him as the permanent co-host. I cracked up last week when he said "What she really wants, what she really, really wants..." after Mel B's dance.

Even though Mark's dance was off-beat for a few seconds, Wayne's gotta go.

I know Samantha Harris has to be shaking in her nursing bra because Drew is a fantastic co-host. I much prefer him and his realistic interview skills. He is just a natural, and I think it helps that he was once a contestant and can relate to how they are feeling right after dancing. Jennie was my fave of the night with Jane and Sabrina running right behind. I think this is the year of the woman, go girls!
