Episode Recap: Eviction Night & 100th Show Celebration
It was a fantastic start to the 100th show — a dance featuring the past and present pros! Maksim was back, Maksim was back! There is a God! There was so much that happened tonight I can't even think straight or form a complete thought. So I won't. I'm sure there are some of you out there who would swear I never do, so let's get on that train and keep it going. Choo-chooooo! Here are my loves and hates from tonight's show:
Loves
• Samantha Harris' dress — I'm going to give her some kudos since no one likes her. Despite her utter uselessness on the show, she's actually an incredible beauty. She's got a great bod and she looks fantastic in all the cool dresses she gets to wear. I'm sure if she were on a show where she served a purpose, she'd be a bigger star.
• Mario Lopez and the cast of A Chorus Line — I'm a sucker for a musical so this was a treat for me. I didn't realize A.C. Slater was on Broadway but I bet he's great in the show. I'll admit I always thought he was a ringer, but he's cute and entertaining…even without his curly mullet from the good old days at Bayside!
• Mel B and Maksim danced! It was just like last season all over again. I miss Maks and this only made me want him back on the show that much more.
• We got to relive Marie fainting. ABC has been dying to use that footage again as much as I've been dying to see it.
• The eviction wasn't spread out over the whole show but done in the last 10 minutes. Hurray!
• Cristián escapes eviction! He deserves to be in the semi-finals even without his amazing performances last night. I'll be rooting for him to make it all the way to the finale.
Hates
• There were two fans from each state "in our fine union" in the audience. What was the significance of that? And why wasn't I included? A heinous oversight, for sure.
• Rascal Flatts — I'm not a country fan so I can't say this was thrilling for me but I'm sure it was great for lots of fans out there. At least we city folk got to enjoy the dances that accompanied the songs!
• I can't believe I'm actually going to say it — this show was too short! Hell is freezing as we speak. I wanted more pro dances and more highlights from previous seasons. I actually forgot some of the people who competed! They should all have had a brief cameo.
• Marissa moves on? Wow. I'm so perplexed. It was nice to see her so happy but it's sad to see someone more deserving go. I'll be in the fetal position sobbing for days.
• Edyta's look of anguish when they were down to three…and then two. It was obvious she really wanted to move on. She's my girl so I wanted to hug her…and ask her where she gets her leg warmers.
• Mario was robbed! Of course I'm biased, but I do not think he should have been axed before Marissa. This is just ludicrous. He handled his eviction with grace and even gave a shout out to our brave soldiers fighting in Iraq. What a stand-up guy! The next couple of weeks will not be the same for me. Now that he's gone, I'm rooting for Cristián all the way!
So what did you think of the amazing 100th show? Did it live up to the hype? I think so! Are you as horrified as I am that Mario is gone? Did Marissa deserve to stay? We have much to discuss so let's get it started! Also, check the post below for the top 10 dances of the series and chat there about your favorites. Now you must excuse me while I go curl up in a ball.

The 2 hour show was so much fun!!! We watched it as a family with pints of Ben and Jerry's! I wished Mario would have stayed, but I guess Marissa is this year's Marie. This season is a bit of a disappointment after last season, and the clips from last season proved it for me. I give the show 3 10s!!!!!!

In my opinion, no one this season comes close to Apolo. The finale between Joey and Apolo was my favorite. And after that performance tonite, HE'S STILL GOT IT!
I was disappointed that Mario went home instead of Marissa. But I agree, he handled it first class.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm glad Mario went home. Marissa will probably go home after next week, and I'm ok with that. I loved seeing Rascal Flatts, but I love country music, so maybe I'm biased. You mentioned Edyta's look of anguish, but did you happen to catch Karina's sourpuss face once there were just 3 of them left? yikes. So excited for next week!

THEY NEED TO KEEP THE SCORING TO THE JUDGES BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO STUPID AND DO NOT KNOW HOW TO OBJECTIVELY VOTE BASED ON TECHNICALLY SKILL AND PERSONALITY. MARIO IS A WAY BETTER DANCER THAN JASON TAYLOR YET HIS CLUNKY AS- IS STILL THERE - UNBELIEVABLE! I AM THROUGH WITH DANCING THIS SEASON.
KRISTI SHOULD AND WILL WIN UNLESS THESE IDIOT PEOPLE VOTE FOR CHRISTAIN WHO SHOULD BE IN THE HOSPITAL. WHAT A JOKE THE SHOW IS NOW!

Marissa was underscored, but the judges and some viewers just want to see the pretty boys and especially pretty boys with injuries. They overscore Jason and the producers put him in the bottom two/red light (and I'm assuming Marissa was in the bottom two) so his fans will rally and ensure his place in the finals. The man has slipped in two dances where he's received tens. The fix is in. He's this year's Helio. Mario was never going to win because a lot of women hate Karina.
Isn't it odd that the three best dances were by teams that did not win? They missed the boat on not choosing Max and Mel's Viennese Waltz as the best dance. That's the most beautiful dance I've ever seen on this show.

I agree that the show was too short--I would have liked seeing more of the alumni.
I like Rascal Flatts on their CDs, but not so much live. However, that dance with Apolo and Julianne was smokin'! They're my favorite couple from the show, just slightly ahead of Drew/Cheryl, Joey/Kym and Joey/Ashly.
I like Marissa for her up attitude, but seriously, she should have been the one to go home. If she outlasts any of the celebs who are left, then somebody needs to smack the voters.

I was a fan of both Mario and Marissa in the beginning. After the first obvious eliminations were made I kept expecting to stop voting for her, thinking it was her time to go. Instead, I have been consistently impressed with her progress and have enjoyed her dances the most overall. They bring a smile to my face. On the other hand, I haven't seen the improvement with Mario that I expected - he still frequently looks awkward to me, and I find I cringe a lot in his dances at particularly awkward moments (as Len said, ugly feet). So I gradually stopped voting for him, while Marissa continues to get my votes. I vote each week based on that week's dancing and how much I feel they're improving and living up to their potential, and personally I think Marissa has been doing better on that front than Mario. So Marissa and Cristian (another dancer improving more and more each week) got my votes this week, and I think the right person was sent home. I don't know who I'll vote for next week - I won't know until they all get their chance to perform.

I adored watching Apolo/Julianne again. I had completely forgotten how much I loved them. They're definitely my all-time favorite couple, although I definitely have a few. And I was so excited to see Ashly back, even just for once dance! She was my favorite professional dancer, and I hope she comes back sometime.
Have to agree about Marissa. I 100% expected her to go home. Oh well.

I wasn't an Apolo fan but I did like his dance with Julianne although at one point I was scared her arm was going to come out of its socket. Would that have topped the fainting?
Anyway, while I don't miss Maks, his dance with Mel was cute.
I am sad to see Mario go. He deserved to stay one more week. Just because he didn't require as much improvement as Marissa doesn't mean he didn't have any. His foxtrot this week proved he has improved greatly. Oh well. He's a class act and I'm very proud of him.
Am I the only one in America that hated Drew and Cheryl's cowboy dance?

Kristi is the most technically talented and Cristian entertaining, improving and is on an ABC show. I think there's a push for a woman to win, but if she doesn't, they want it to be someone affiliated with the network. Of course, Jason could also be a dark horse to win because he's paired with Edyta and the show may want her to win so that she can finally take a season or two off so she and Alec can start their family. huh? huh?

My jaw literally dropped when Marissa wasn't voted off. OMG. I really hoped she would go and if not her, then I thought it would be Jason. By the look on Edyta's face, she must have thought the same thing!
Loved the special hour. That could have lasted 3 hours and I'd have been happy.

First I have to say that I loved seeing Maksim back on the show even if it was for one night. Mel B. and Maks was my favorite pair on Dancing With the Stars. Mel B. was definitely robbed last season. She was amazing. I am so happy they did the splits. I still think the Waltz was one of the best dances of any season. I was also happy to see Apolo and Julianne reunited. They still got that chemistry. They are still great together. You could see that they missed each other and still talk. Apolo brought back my Julianne love that kind of diminished last season with Helio. Anyways, A&J and M&M had the chemistry and talent. They were amazing.
