Two Dances & Twice the Fun!

Another perfect score for Scary! Melanie Brown, Maksim Chmerkovskiy by Carol Kaelson/ABC
Ok so I go away for one week and I return to chaos. Sabrina Bryan gone? Really?? I'm never leaving the country again if this is what's going to happen. Stupid honeymoon!

I can't imagine what must be going through the celeb's minds at this point. If the best dancer can be sent packing, anyone can go. I love how they all had cheetah paws on them. Thanks for the nipple shot, Maksim! Usually I laugh at how the show always uses the line "the most shocking results show yet" but I don't think they exaggerated at all last week. We may be in for another shock tomorrow night as well.

So who's going? Well, I'll tell you who I think isn't. Or, at the very least, shouldn't: My Helio, Jennie Garth and Mel B. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but I think in three weeks we'll be seeing them battle it out for the "shiny silver mirror ball". Glad to see the writer's strike isn't affecting Tom Bergeron's jokes. They are still lame.

I was a bit worried about Helio after his first dance because his scores have been slipping but he really came through on the second dance. He is the king of latin this season. His enthusiasm was evident. With Sabrina gone, Jennie and Mel B were the best women tonight. Jennie continued to improve and, although she may be a bundle of nerves offstage, her confidence on the floor has been building. Mel B hasn't been very consistent and her scores can be perfect or mediocre. Who knows which Mel will show up each dance? But when she's on, she's on and that Paso Doble kicked booty!

The one person out of the others who could possibly sneak into the final, in my opinion, is Marie Osmond. Not because she's fantastic, but because she is a fan favorite. She has eight kids and about ten siblings who each probably have eight kids so that's like, a million votes right there! Now I did enjoy her dances tonight but I agreed with the judges when they told her that she needed more substance. We're getting too close to the end for her to rely on performance alone.

Similarly, it's too late in the game for Jane Seymour to rely solely on elegance. I am also missing the excitement from her routines. Sure, she's great! There is no one left in this competition who can match her grace and style in a ballroom dance, but her fast dances are lacking. For that reason, I feel she may be one of the next to go. It's either her or Cameron, unless the AMC fans band together and push him into the next round.

So my picks for the bottom two? Jane and Cameron. My bet is on Cameron to go. Disagree? Then by God, vote vote vote! It's never been more important after last week's debacle. Really, America — were you asleep?

I'm already nervous about tomorrow, how about you? Chat below and share your thoughts and tune in tomorrow for the nail-biting conclusion to Week Seven! Oh and am I wrong or did I hear that Michael "Lord of the Dance" Flatley will be in the ballroom? Totally brill. See you then!

I came into the show late tonight, but I was impressed with Jennie. And what can I say, I've loved her since 90210. She got my online vote =) The cheetah paws were SO cute!

Congratulations on your marriage, Krista, but don't let your husband read your blog tonight. "Stupid honeymoon" might sting a bit. :)

I loved Marie's quickstep, but it also helped that they dressed in 40s clothes and actually danced to era-appropriate music. Good for Marie for stepping up tonight.

Jane looked marvelous in that gold dress, but I think that it's time for her to go. Cameron has improved a lot this season, as has Jennie. I'd love to see them in the finale with Helio, and any one of them could take it.

My favorite dances were mel's paso doble.. that was AWESOME!! marie's quickstep and jennie's viennese waltz.. i liked that.. so i disagreed with the judges. i love derek's choreography... but I do think that jennie's dancing is missing something.. she is a bit too stiff, looks kind of forced, not natural and you see it in the latin dances, even last week's mambo, was a bit too stiff for me.. I definitely miss Sabrina...

Tonight's show was enjoyable and I felt the music fit the dances more than usual.
Liked everyone, actually, except Mel B. Have never been a fan of hers and her constant referring to her upcoming tour has gotten on my last nerve. Hope she is the one going home so she can quit telling us how difficult it is to find rehearsal time for both the show and the tour.

I think Cameron and Jennie are the most improved and personality wise, I like them the best so those are the two I voted for. I mainly went for Cameron because he was in the bottom last week and I really don't think he should have been.

I'd like to say bye bye to Mel because there's just something about her that grates on me. I also don't think the chemistry is there between her and Maks.

Jane is an adequate dancer but I do agree with the judges that she is not exciting.

Helio, was at first my pick to win it, but he's been slipping and although he came back at the end in the judges eyes, I've lost my fervor for him.

Marie was surprisingly good for her first dance and the outfits were cute. I'd like her to stay.

I do think the votes are so close that it's anyone's game...and it will be a popularity contest.

I was really surprised last week to see Jane stay. I thought for sure she would be gone. I'm tired of her "everything is wonderful and beautiful and I'm so grateful for everyone" act. Maybe it's real. But it's starting to get, for me annoying.

So I am concerned that Cameron will go tomorrow, but if so...I'll throw my votes to Jennie. If Jennie goes, I'll throw my votes to Cameron.

I am not as enthused with anyone as I've been in years past, so if both Cameron and Jennie go...I probably won't care who wins...except for Mel. I don't want her to win at all.

My opinion only.

Congrats on the wedding and honeymoon, Krista; good to have you back and all, but I have GOT to disagree with you about Tom Bergeron. I absolutely adore him and don't think this show would be nearly as good without him and his combination of sly wit and human kindness.

I missed about half of the first round and so missed Helio's tango, Marie's and Mel's first dances. Given that, I must say it is time for Jane to go home, and you can't know how it pains me to decide that and to say it. She was my number one fave starting out, but she's just not keeping up. The pace of each of her songs sounds like it is slowed down just a hair, and I cannot believe that that is coincidence or just the luck of the musical draw. I backed that up by giving everyone votes tonight except for Jane. She doesn't have the bawdy vigor of Marie and she's even more stiff than Jennie. Au revoir, beautiful lady.

I loved the dances I saw by Mel B and Helio (gotta agree with Krista on him), while Marie and Cameron weren't too far behind them.

One question, though... was it just me or was that flurry of short brown feathers on Julianne Hough's bodice in their second dance just way too close to looking like abundant fur or hair on her chest? I really thought for a moment that she was undergoing some hormonal problem, lol.

I agree with you, NumberFive'sMom, about Tom Bergeron! If his jokes are lame, and I don't think many of them are, he knows they are and that is the point of some of them. Sometimes corny jokes are funny. I doubt I'd watch this show without him and just knowing he's there makes me able to slightly stomach Samantha Harris. Who tonight was her usual inane self!

I haven't voted this year because I don't have a favorite. Last week was ridiculous and I hope something like that will never be repeated again. I'm hoping Jane will go home, as she should have done last week. Other than that, from now on it'll be tough every week to see anyone go home.

I personally thought MelB's Paso was spectacular. The black costumes, the music, the dance. I loved it.

I actually thought most of the costumes were great tonight, especially Marie's 1940's uniform. Agree with you about that, monkey65, and everything else you had to say!:)

Did anyone notice that the judges were much harsher in the ballroom round than in the Latin round? I was getting so aggravated that the judges were criticizing everyone, especially when I disagreed with their assessments, and then suddenly they were lavishing praise on everyone.

By far, Jennie was the most consistent dancer tonight. Her Viennese waltz was just lovely and I was climbing the walls while the judges were, in my mind, inventing things to nitpick about the dance. Her rumba was even better and I think merited at least another 10. She's come a long way since week 1 and she's now my favorite to win it all. I gave her all my votes.

Everyone else was better in one round or the other, but not excellent in both the way Jennie was. Marie's quickstep was fun but she lacked a lot of technique. Her cha cha was so so. Seriously, I wasn't feeling that cha cha cha at all.

Mel's foxtrot was pretty average, and what was up with wearing pants? It looked so odd. Her paso doble was pretty darn good, though...better than Sabrina's, but still not as good as Jennie's (can you tell I'm really pulling for Ms. Garth?). It had passion without overpowering the dance, but she had a little misstep when she hopped on one foot, which I could tell wasn't supposed to happen, thus she didn't merit a 30.

Jane's tribute to Johnny Cash by dancing the quickstep to Walk the Line was pretty good, but her cha cha cha was really lacking. It's time for her to go.

Cameron's quickstep was too manic and verged on being pretty bad, but he redeemed himself with a splendid jive. And how cute did Edyta look in that high ponytail?

Helio's tango wasn't that good, but the music was also miserable, and that might have had a lot to do with my perception of the dance. I really liked his samba, though.

The Lord of the Dance is coming? Ehhh...I'm not so sure about that. His overinflated ego gives a bad name to Irish step dancing. It was bad enough when he refused to keep his arms down by his side when he did Riverdance. Michael Flatley is very talented, but he's such an attention whore.

I loved the cheetah paw prints on everyone. Nice tribute to Sabrina!

Let me jump on the Tom bandwagon. Tom, Jeff Probst and Cat Deely are the best hosts on television! Tom is genuinely funny. The dumber Samantha gets, the more Tom shines. Anyone who can stand on stage with her and not scream and pull their hair out deserves an Emmy. He's as real as she is fake.

As for the dancing:

Helio is such a joy to watch. He makes me smile and his Samba tonight was great.

Marie's Quick Step was one of my favorite routines ever. She did seem to slow for the second dance, but was still entertaining.

Mel is not one of my favorite people on this show. Her constant harping on her schedule is grating. Like Sabrina, there is no doubt she is talented, as well she should be. I seriously can't muster much sympathy that she has to learn 22 dances this week instead of 20. By the way, who is watching her newborn all those hours?

Jane is beautiful, Jane is elegant, all Jane's dances seem the same.

Jennie's personality has won me over and her dancing has steadily improved. She is exactly what this show should be about. She has become so smooth and the choreography has been fantastic.

Cameron is just so much fun to watch. He puts his whole heart and soul into it, which led to some over exuberance tonight. He is still one of my favorites and his talk about his hectic schedule was not complaining, just stated matter of fact. It's tough, but so is he!

Personally I'd send Mel home on principle, but I think it's Jane's turn to go. I believe Sabrina went home last week for the same reason's Mel should go home this week.

Not to feed into any conspiracy theory, but I tried to vote on four lines tonight after I got cut short on the first one. I managed to get only 4 votes on three of them and 5 on the fourth. I didn't vote last week, but noticed a lot of posts mentioning the same type thing.

As much as I love Jane Seymour, it is time for her to go. Her quickstep was nice, but she has been looking very uneasy during the latin dances and doesn't exude the same energy as the others. I'm rooting for Jennie and Derek all the way. Jennie has really improved and Derek, well - his choreography is amazing and his performances spot-on. It sure doesn't hurt that he's so easy on the eyes.

I am really surprised at how many people seem to vote on personality and not on who the best dancer is, because Sabrina would be here still if people did vote for the best. Mel B. is the best dancer on that floor, imo. Helio is just a lot of smile and so cheesy, I don't think he is an Emmitt Smith, Drew Lachey or Apollo that is for sure. This is the year of the female winner and I Hope upon hopes that mel and Jennie end up duking this out at the end. Jane is just a "fancy" dancer and Marie doesn't have it like the other 2. She has good performances but is not as technical as Jennie and Mel. I missed Sabrina last night though, big time!

I really don't get the judging. Is there some sort of agreement among the judges that no one gets lower than an 8 now? And that the women are always better than the men? (Time to have a female champion, hmm?) What was so perfect about Mel and Maks's paso doble (other than Mel's costume)? And I agree that the pants in her other dance were just wrong.

No one is outstanding for me this season, and that's OK. Helio always makes me smile, so I'm pulling for him to win. He really seems to enjoy himself on the dance floor. I felt that his and Julianne's samba was the most electrifying moment of the season so far.

I agree it is Jane's time to go, but I have felt that way for a couple of weeks. The judges totally nailed it with her comments that she is too elegant sometimes. It almost feels like she's floating above us. Even her comments about being friends with the Cashes and being able to dance to Walk the Line...I kind of felt like, so what? (A very weird song choice for a quickstep anyway, I must say.) Did anyone else notice that even before the elimination show last week, Jane knew that if she made it through to this week she would be dancing to Walk the Line? Do they actually start practicing before the results are announced - just in case?

Random thought - where has Harold Wheeler been the last two weeks? I don't know why it should bother me - the band doesn't sound any different. It just seems wrong that he's not there.

I thought Marie had a nice night, my favorite week for her so far. Although I am not a fan of the period, she threw herself into the Andrews Sisters number and totally captured the look and the feeling. She really seemed to be enjoying herself in both dances.

It seems to me that Mel's dances don't have the content of some of the other dancers'. I really wonder what the judges see in her. Not a fan.

I can't warm up to Jennie either. She is not a bad dancer but she does always seem petrified. Also I thought Derek looked a little goofy last night. Did his hair get blonder?

I also thought Cameron's jive, while energetic, was a little uncontrolled. Those kicks were anything but graceful. It just looked like they were both seeing how high they could kick their legs without worrying about technique.

I loved the tribute to Sabrina. It seemed understated and heartfelt. Some of the spark does seem to have left the competition with her departure. But it is good to hear she will be on the tour.

Finally, I do enjoy Tom and think he is the perfect host for this show. Some of his jokes make me laugh out loud. Many of them fall flat, and that's OK. Samantha, on the other hand, seems to have memorized a script and never delivers her lines in a convincing fashion.

I hope Jane leaves tonight, but I am afraid it might be Cameron. Just please not Helio! Looking forward to the return of Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice.

Jennie has improved greatly over the past few weeks, even though she seems to freak out before every performance.

Jane Seymour has obviously reached her full potential already. It's nice to have "grace" and "elegance", but the dances are becoming more athletic and physically demanding, and she is not keeping up with the younger dancers.

I hope Cameron stays because it would mean I'd get to see more Edyta!
