This Show is Cursed!
Bond Girl says Bye-Bye. Jane Seymour, Tony Dovolani by Carol Kaelson/ABC
What is it with this season? Good dancers are going home, people are fainting and, sadly, parents keep passing away! Marie — I'm sorry about your father. I'm sure you'll find comfort in your family during this time and we hope to see you back and sassy next week on the dance floor!
Well, it could have been worse than Jane Seymour going home. For a second, I got a huge knot in my stomach thinking my Helio was on his way out! Or Jennie! Poor, sweet, most-improved Jennie. Luckily, we'll see her again next week.
I was a bit surprised that Cameron found his way out of the bottom two. I guess the soap fans came through for him. I wouldn't have been sad to see him go though. His schedule is insane! He needs to sit down and take a nap. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I'd be the biggest cranky pants if I were in his shoes they'd probably run me off the show.
My one burning question of the night: Who did Kenny Mayne's make-up for the "Dance Center" bit? Was that turquoise eyeshadow or eyeliner I saw?Awful! It was the worst display of cosmetics since Tammy Faye. The bit worked though and I chuckled when Kenny said Marie had 75 kids. Didn't I already make that joke? Get your own material, Mayne!
So not a big shocker like last week, but certainly not an easy pill to swallow. Jane was a joy to watch these past seven weeks and I think the show will be missing something with her gone. Good luck, Jane! As for the rest of you, I better see your behinds back here next week. I don't think I can go through this alone. Until then, keep chattin'.

Did anyone else think that the lack of a 'bottom two' meant that Marie was supposed to be in the bottom two with Jane?

Yes, karenb, I thought exactly that, which could mean that Marie will be on her way out next week. Unless, of course, both dances are of the caliber of her quickstep.

First of all, my sympathy to both Marie and Jane for their losses.
Now, I personally was glad to see Sabrina go. I didn't think it was fair that she was a professional dancer with previous dance training. Of course she danced great because of that. I called her "cheater girl." It seemed like she had an unfair advantage. Now that she's gone it's a real competition.
Cameron is getting a little full of himself not to mention annoyingly whiny. If he was ugly and had a crappy day job, then I might feel sorry for him. Go Helio!
And many kudos to the band! You guys are fabulous and I wish I had your gig. I for one am listening to the excellent musicians.

Yes, I agree with karenb716 and monkey65 - I bet Marie & Jonathan were the other couple in the bottom two. It would've been in poor taste for them to announce that so I'm glad they made that decision.

Its more like the judging system on this show is cursed! Give me a break first with mario and now sabrina? They are losing viewers daily even if they try and make light of the fact nobody voted for sabrina.shouldn't they just go by the scores the professional judges give them? The online factor defeats the purpose of it being a Competion right? The show should be renamed dance popularity contest right? Oh and in defence of sabrina being pro dancer and unfair advantage well i say to you what about half of these dancing where you must play a role and act the caractor to get the highest scores who has the unfair advantage there?hmmmmm? Besides i use to dance hiphop and trust me its nothing like the dances they are preforming on this popularity talent celeb dance show .

It was my impression, because Tom B. made a joke of it, that Kenny Mayne's make-up was supposed to look like that. He's nothing if not a big spoofer and I'm sure he was just imitating the look of the dancers. I thought it was great...though I didn't think all of the routine was great....and unfortunately for me, I didn't start reading the stats they posted next to the dancers' pictures until half way through, so I'm thinking I missed some amusing comments.
Finally, Jane went home. She should have gone last week, if not sooner. Lots of people love her and I thought she was indeed elegant, but I never could get past that surgically enhanced body and that pasted on smile. And I do like her and have always been a fan of her movies and tv shows. I just thought she was there at least a week too long.
I too got a little antsy about Helio going home. For about 5 minutes there, I was just sure it would be him. So glad it wasn't.
Wasn't that pro dance by Tony and Julianne quite something?? Those lifts were spectacular.

I agree about Marie probably being in the bottom two, thus the way they handled it tonight. But that only means she'll probably be safe next week.
It was time for Jane to go, but I was so nervous for Jennie and Derek! I would have been so disappointed had Jennie been eliminated.
This season has been so topsy-turvy!

To the poster who criticized Jane Seymour's body being surgically enhanced: If that's true, well, I guess we better vote everyone off. I would be surprised if there was anyone on there who hadn't had anything done. This IS Hollywood. Deal with it.
Also please deal with the fact that this isn't the international ballroom competition you see on PBS. There's a reason it's on PBS: it won't bring in the viewers the major networks want. This is a fun dance-off between already established celebs who already have careers and who will be just fine without the mirror ball trophy. To waste your time watching and complaining week after week......either watch and shut up already or quit watching - I'm sure the millions of viewers who actually DO get the concept of this show will somehow manage to keep this show afloat without you.

I understand to a degree why people feel Sabrina had an unfair advantage. What I don't understand is why they don't say the same thing about Mel B. or in past seasons the 3 guys of boy band fame. All of these contestants are in singing groups that also dance. If you are going to pick on one...pick on them all. The producers obviously think their lack of experience in ballroom qualifies them to be in the competion so I think we should stop beating a dead horse.

I think the right person did go home last night, but I think jane should have left before Sabrina...just for the record. And just a reminder...they didn't announce the bottom 2 so that means that Cameron may in fact still be down there. I am glad they didn't announce it either because it seems like whoever is in the bottom 2 somehow finds all these votes (sympathy) and then someone who should have stayed longer ends up leaving. Hopefully, America will vote for the most talented dancers over the next few weeks and we will have an amazingly talented final 2. IMO, that would be Mel and Jennie.

I kind of wish that instead of voting for the favorite performer, we could vote for who we want gone. I don't think we would have had the Sabrina fiasco last week if we could vote for the leaving dancer.
As much as I have enjoyed watching Jane dance, it was definitely time for her to go. She just didn't have as much fire in her performances as the other celebs did.

The DanceCenter segment was hilarious! I hope y'all read the stats; some were very funny. I think I laughed the loudest when he said Marie had 75 kids.
Jane, thanks for bringing some class and elegance to the show. Glad you had the time of your life.
If Marie was indeed in the bottom 2, I appreciate DWTS's show of respect by changing the format.

Was it just me or did they change the words of Free Your Mind to be a little more family-friendly? Could have sworn they sang "Doesn't mean that I'm hip to you" instead of "Doesn't mean I'm a prostitute."
I didn't start watching until about 2 weeks ago - did Jane Seymour mention her spinal surgery before? She's been a great inspiration, and I personally would love to see her come back for some commentary gigs in future seasons.
I loved Lee Ann Rimes' performance and the girls were awesome in that second number! I also loved the look on her face when they dancers came out. Actual entertainers, not just spotlight hogs, really do enjoy seeing someone dance to their music (look at all the performers with entire chorus lines these days) and it was evident on her face.
I bet Marie was in the bottom two, and I think they handled it perfectly. Jane's illness last week wasn't nearly as serious; this week you couldn't exploit Marie's situation for ratings. But I wonder what they would have done if she was voted off? Would they have pulled an American Idol and just delay the results until the next week, then vote two off? Have her come back with Johnathan and dance her 40's number again?
I also agreed with what the judges and the contestants were saying about this season being so different. You've had people in the bottom two who were on top the week before, and visa versa. By this time last season we still had the likes of Billy Ray Cyrus in the top 6. This round the talent seems to be pretty evenly distributed. I think Mel B is the standout, but not by much.
