Episode Recap: Separation Anxiety
After a long break Brothers & Sisters is back and we can finally begin to get answers to the pressing questions that have been plaguing fans. Will Robert win the nomination? Is Rebecca truly a Walker? Will Nora move cross-country with Isaac? While that last one may not have been weighing on our minds, it was the central issue in tonight’s show. Word leaked, as it always does, that Isaac was going to ask his lady love to move in with him and immediately all the little Walkers began to fret that Mommy might finally cut the apron strings. Never fear. After crashing Nora and Isaac’s romantic dinner and playing dumb as to its purpose, the clan set out to keep Nora at home. A golf outing with the boys turned into an inquisition for Isaac. “How much do you owe on your home?” “Is your prostate fine?” Then Kitty, supposedly Isaac’s dear friend, told him that he was asking too much and that Nora would not be happy. Nice. We’re not surprised that Nora changed her mind and let Isaac go home alone.
As for Robert and his political aspirations…Well, it’s three months later in the show’s chronology and he has “suspended” his campaign after losing big in the primaries. I did my happy dance at this notification that the political storyline was over but then Robert started talking of secretly missing campaigning even though he was enjoying his life with Kitty and their new quest for fertility. I knew something was up. As it turns out it looks like the guy from The White Shadow will be offering Robert the vice-presidency slot on his ticket. This truly is the plot that won’t die.
However, another hinted at twist is starting to percolate. It’s Rebecca’s first birthday as a Walker, complete with Nora’s homemade cake and a gift from the mysterious David that leads to more questions about Rebecca’s true parentage. The necklace, which once belonged to David’s mother, was a loaded gift. It got Holly’s temper going and finally prompted Rebecca to go get a @#%^# DNA test. It’s about time. Holly finally admitted that there was a slight chance that William may not be the father. I feel for Rebecca if that turns out to be the case, but on the upside she will, at least, now have a father she can get to know in the flesh instead of through raucous Walker re-tellings.
In between the drama, we were treated to some fun moments from the gang. Kevin, always good for a giggle, started to break down at the thought of Nora leaving and big sis Sarah had to slap him to stop the meltdown. Rebecca’s grown-out bangs were applauded, though in all honesty her bangs only made her look like a teenager, it was no Keri Russell Felicity debacle. Tommy was likeable. Please keep the weight of the world off of his shoulders. Kevin and Sarah realizing that the food was store-bought was yet another classic moment for these two. And of course, the family brawl that topped off the birthday party. As Holly said, it wouldn’t be a Walker event with one. It definitely wouldn’t be our show without it either.

Ok, here's my thing, did Rebecca never have a DNA test before, like to determine that she was in fact a Walker? I mean they've just welcomed her in with open arms, well slightly, but still. You'd have thought that there would have been one done, especially with the way that Sarah & Kevin are they'd have definitely wanted one done a long time ago.
OK, I loved this episode, it was back to the way the Walker's were in the first season. (wait, is this the 2nd season or still the first? This dang strike has me sooo confused). I am hoping that Rebecca does turn out to not be a Walker, because I'm sorry, the way her & Justin act towards each other is a bit creepy for brother/sister love. Granted they had been dating in real life....Glad that momma Walker isn't going off to Washington. The Walker Clan would so have gone a little more crazy without her being there. I so loved it when Sarah & Kevin were talking about the food that was store bought & she said don't make me slap you & then she did. I was cracking up. Can't wait for next weeks episode.

Any chance that Rebecca will turn out to be a Walker...but Justin will turn out to not be.
I think they are really overusing the Crazy Family Party bit too much as well as the Sibling Party Phone Line stuff. They can be funny but it's almost every episode.
And I'm glad to have the Issac thing wrapped up. I just never really bought the relationship with Nora.

I was a little confused at the end of the program with the Sarah line and man she is both working with and sleeping with. What does she want her uncle to do? Is she trying to turn down the business deal but is afraid if she does, that will end their relationship so she wants the uncle to nix the thing? Please explain.

I loved this episode, but my one complaint was where is Scotty? I know he is supposed to be a chef, so he probably works most nights. But, he is never at any family events? I have noticed this over the past couple of episodes and tonight it was blatantly obvious to me. He wasn't there when Kevin was with Tommy and Julia watching the election results at the beginning, but Kevin talked to him on the phone, which made it plausible. But, everyone else was at Rebecca's dinner, well every other adult. All the kids, Julia, Robert, Isaac, Saul, Holly, David, and Nora. Everyone but Scotty. I initially was a fan of Jason, but now that Kevin has chosen Scotty, please bring them to the family events. I remember episodes from last year and he interacted so well with everyone, not just Sarah. Okay, rant over.

Don't worry. He's at next week's charity fundraiser that the whole family attends.

Ahh, I'm with Daisy about being confused about Sarah, Graham (I think that's the character's name), Saul and the family business. Sarah's worried that Ojai is expanding their China deals too fast and the company would be taking on too much debt but won't say so because she doesn't want to ruin her new romance?! What happened to her business savvy, which is why she got handed control over Tommy in the first place? Saul's really pushing and he seemed especially bitter when Sarah asked him to come up with an excuse for Graham--'what's one more favor'--and there's definitely business problems looming from next week's scenes. Maybe one of the big twists will be the family losing the business--or Saul taking over. Back when Rebecca had her first Walker family dinner, Kevin tried to get a hair sample to have it tested for DNA. Of course, he tries to pull her hair out during the meal and got rounded shot down but the DNA matter has come up before. I think Rebecca not being a Walker would be bad enough but the possibility of Justin not being a Walker would mean that Nora cheated and I really don't want to go there.

Okay - my problem with last night's episode is this: Wouldn't Nora go stay with Isaac for a few weeks before commiting to moving there? Come on - who would go to a location sight unseen even if it was with the one you loved. I expected a little more out of the writers than that to close out the whole Nora/Isaac thing!
I do like the whole Rebecca is not a Walker theme though. She will find out she is not a Walker but will become one anyway through her relationship with Jason!

I'm so glad Nora stayed! I mean, Sally Field is the heart of the show. There's been rumors that someone is leaving the show, and I think is going to be Saul, after all, he did tell Sarah about doing her "one last favor".
As for the family crazy moments, I hope they continue week after week, not only because is so much fun to watch, but to me it feels so real, like a real family (my family for that matter), and that's the reason I love this show so much!

I love this show and am so glad its back.
I had a little trouble with Kitty and Fertility treatments- that seemed a little rushed. She was pregnant just 4 mths ago (their time) I thought people were supposed to try naturally for at least 6mths to year before going with fertility treatments- Maybe I missed something. Other than that I thought it was really good. At one point I laughed and said "I love this family"

I found last night's ep to be too much, too fast and just silly.
First - it's obvious they just wanted to end the Issac/Nora story fast - cause any normal couple would have discussed the move, had Nora come to DC and vist - see the placy - get a feel. Not just ask a person to give up everything and expect the answer right away.
Usually I love the chaos of the Walker clan - but what a bunch of spoiled brats they all were about Nora moving. All these highly educated adults yet not one suggested that she go to DC and try it out before making it permanent? They've been screaming for years that she needs to get a life and butt out of theirs - they should have been happy.
While I would enjoy it if Rebeccas could hook-up with Justin - I would hate to see what finding out about this would mean to her. That her mom lied yet again, and all that she has struggled with to get to know the Walkers. And could this mean the end of seeing Holly on the show ???
I think Saul being annoyed with Sarah has to do with waht Nora said to him - living for himself for a change. She'snot listening to his advice, then asks him to do the dirty work. I think he's tired of not having a life and will be getting one soon !

I think that when all the DNA testing is done, what we will wind up discovering is that it is JUSTIN who is not a Walker. I think the DNA test will confirm William Walker as Rebecca's real father, and somehow, some way, Justin will begin to question HIS paternity, which will in turn reveal that William was not his father, thus paving the way for a relationship with his "sister" Rebecca that is a wee bit more socially acceptable.

Rebecca not being a Walker would be such an egregious retcon. Anyone who's watched Season 1 would know how cheap a twist it would be and how it would undermine all the drama surrounding the character's introduction.
