Episode Recap: "110 Percent Solution"

OK, let's start from the beginning of this fun-filled hour. Andy bought a boat! For, like, a split second. He didn't even take it out anywhere, which is what makes it so funny. But that was just a little glitch in the system. Andy's back, baby! Good thing his younger sis (a mistake, yet truly a "source of joy") woke him up ("Hugs not drugs").

P.J.'s pretty good at dealing with other people's problems, but she's just a mess with her own personal life. Poor Evan, so out of place and unwelcome on poker night. His camping story was painful. Plus, the five-headed monster (four-headed?) didn't help. "Where does he botany at?" Oh, Mike.

You know who really had me laughing in this first half hour? Stephanie. Snapping at everybody, yelling at P.J. about her relationship troubles. She was just extra defensive tonight, and I loved it.

Moving on….

Episode Recap: "Rome, If You Want To"

Of course. Of course we didn't get to see who P.J. invited to Italy. Who would have upgraded her to first-class? Matt the ex-Cub? Thorn the swanky reporter? (By the way, is this the first time we're hearing P.J.'s first name? Penelope?) Maybe it isn't any of the three men who were in the episode. Maybe it's Hank, the guy who brought up Florence on their first date! Thoughts? At least we got to see Lance….

The last hoorah (aka "drunken adventure") was pretty funny. Who doesn't like Ferris Bueller's Day Off? The award definitely goes to Andy for his tour-guide serenade to party-pooper Brendan.

Bottom line: "Nothing good ever happens when you play it safe." And it's a good thing P.J.'s embracing that frame of mind, because we'll have a lot more to watch when the show returns. The seasons may be short, but they really make me laugh, and I definitely find this show a relief from some of the more serious series I watch. I'll have to get my fill of funny from Barney and the crew on How I Met Your Mother until my Chicago poker buddies return. (In case you didn't hear, TBS picked it up for a third season!) I do have to say, though, that I think the first season still holds first place in my book — when we met all these different personalities, examined their quirks, settled into the comfort of their sarcasm. But I don't criticize this season too much, because I like its laid-back feel — comedy I can relate to, clothing I'd wear (no offense, Carrie Bradshaw), spots I'd hit with my friends on a regular basis. It's just what the TV doctor ordered among detailed sci-fi adventures and medical dramas. A round of applause for TBS.

This is a very enjoyable show for the summer. I just love all the characters. I think Andy may be my favorite out of all of them. He just cracks me up with some of the stuff he does. Nice touch with the Ferris Bueller nod. How did he get off work like that to do the tour guide thing? Very glad he is moving back to the city. The suburbs was robbing him of his soul. He needs the city.

I did yell at the tv when they didn't show who she brought to Italy. Let's go over the contenders:

1. Matt the Cub-there is an obvious connection between PJ and him. I don't think she knows him well enough though to invite him to Italy. Isn't it baseball season anyway? He won't be taking 2 weeks off during the season to go to Italy. So I will rule him out even if it isn't baseball season.

2. Evan the plant guy-they seem to get along well. I don't see that as a fireworks type of deal just yet to justify the romantic Italy setting. So strike him as well.

3. Thorn the reporter-Good history between them. He's coming off a serious relationship. PJ doesn't seem like a rebound type of woman. No.

4. Hank-Nah. Been too far out of the picture to get the nod. He just doesn't fit well with her friends and she won't abandon them. No.

5. Brendan the good friend/DJ-They travel well together. There probably is still feelings between them. Not ready to strike him. Good possibility.

6. Bobby, Kenny or Mike-I don't see any of them making the grade. If it is any of the friends, it would be Brendan IMO.

7. Andy the brother-For the whole ep, I thought he might be the choice. A family outing to clear his head about impending fatherhood again. It didn't seem like a family greeting that she did though. Not ruling him out though because he was my first instinct.

8. Trouty the ultimate party man-Yes I know it is impossible. Just cracks me up thinking about it. Trouty in Italy. Look out.

So I would say either Brendan or Andy. Leaning more toward Brendan at the moment.

You didn't even mention the funniest part of the whole evening - getting hit by pitches in the batting cage - LMAO!

Thank God Andy is back in the city. I know it's unrealistic, but can Jim Gaffigan get his own show? He is just the best.

I was talking to the TV - "Don't you dare end the scene without showing me the guy!!" and they ended it, the lousy, gutless, greedy, pathetic, didn't-get-enough-hugs as a child SOB producers.

My guess is it is Thorn on the plane.

I really think it's Thorn. My love of Jeremy Sisto aside- I think it's Thorn because she really seems to care about him. The ex-Cub is my second choice. They really have sparks and he is really, really cute. My guesses also are about the money. Botany doesn't seem like a high paying job. I don't think Evan would be able to afford two first class tickets, but a professional baseball player would and a world famous reporter would.

It also could be Andy since he got a new job. I wouldn't put too much into how PJ greeted her travel companion. If it is Andy they probably had the actress say it that way on purpose so we would all think it was a romantic prospect and then when next season starts they'll have that scene filmed differently. I've seen it before. I remember the scrutiny we gave the ending scene of Veronica Mars way back when we were trying to figure out if it was Logan, Wallace or Duncan. I won't do that again! That was exhausting!!

Ok...I guess I'm the only one who think this...but I think it's Bobby...they never really stopped that...upgrade to first class for across the Atlantic flight is expensive...so my money is on Bobby or the cub...

I don't think it's one of the 3 guys in the episode though because that would be too easy...but I was pissed I didn't get to see who it was!

Perhaps I am the only one to think this, but maybe it was Brendan (while yes he was playing the Cameron role all show, he was especially quiet during all conversations about the trip) but what really made me think was when Stephanie was going on about what P.J.'s problems were and that whole speech seemed really similar to what she was saying in the first show of the season about the P.J. and Brendan thing. Also, this is silly, but I figured only Thorn and Brendan even know or remember her first name is Penelope to send a flight attendant looking for her. I mean, we haven't ever seen her byline, but I bet it is P.J. too.

Oh, but her dad or Andy might have been options too.

Am I the only one who HATES Thorn?? And I'm not even dragging into it my distrust of Jeremy Sisto ever since "Waitress" (:P)

Seriously, this guy was ENGAGED when he called her for a date, he played it sleazeball the whole time, and then finally tells her that he wanted to go out to make sure he didn't still have feelings for her! I thought they wrote him off pretty good the last time...and by "good," I mean "so we'd hate his guts." I sound vehement, but that's what the writers have done to his character for me...

Loved these episodes, got an unusual number of laughs out of grown men facing baseball machines. I won't speculate on who it is on the plane, but I've always had a soft spot for Mike ("I've got art"), although it'll never be him...

kate2777 - I totallly agree! I was kind of hoping P.J. would take Bobby but towards the end when Steph gives that whole speech I immediately thought Brandon. By the time they were on the plane I was totally convinced it was Brandon....but of course we don't freakin' know!!! I hate that they did not tell us!

If not Brandon my other thought was the cute Cub. I don't like Thorn he seems kind of scumy....I mean what kind of guy gets in touch with his ex just to find out if he really loves his fiance or not? The fact that the engagement was called off was not suprising at all!

Just to note....The serenade of Andy's was a tribute to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"---remember Ferris singing during the parade? Oh, very clever indeed....great episode and of course, I'm dying to know who PJ (or should we call her Penelope?) is taking to Italy!

I seriously think that it's Brandon that is on the plane. Who else except for her BF and family would know her first name and think it's funny to have the flight attendant call her that. I'm hoping it's Brandon, cuz no matter how cute the Cub and the plant guy are, they are no Brandon. And yes, I can't stand Thorn.

I am not going to be able to wait to see who really is on the plane. They should seriously make the season longer. TBS really does not have that much else to show in it's place.

Andy was amazing in both episodes. The singing on the tour bus was great!

All of that being said, I say goodbye to PJ and the gang till next season! And hears hopping it's Brandon ;)

squirt, I thought about Bobby first too. They do have a history that isn't discussed much. But the more I read the comments the more I think it might be Brendon. I didn't catch them calling her Penelope. When that is mentioned it leads you to believe it is someone that she knows pretty well, and I don't want it to be Thorn. I also thought it might be Andy, but he has the new job (unless he was fired for his phone conversation :) ), but he wouldn't upgrade.

After reading everything and thinking it through, my guess is Brendon....or maybe the cub...or Bobby...or ?<img border=">

Can't wait until next season!!!
