« The Biggest Loser: Couples

Recap: Episode 15

Well kids, it’s week 15 and we’re just about at the home stretch. Jay being eliminated leaves Mark, Roger, Ali and Kelly in the final four. We saw many flashbacks to day 1 tonight and it’s unreal how much weight they’ve all lost. There will be no trainers for this final week but instead Rocco DiSpirito is visiting the campus. Hearing Roger talk about his mama’s pepper steak was hilarious and what a great idea to have chef Rocco come and make their favorite meals but as healthy versions. I have to say his dishes looked mouth-watering.

This week’s challenge was similar to the past seasons’ final challenges where the contestants had to carry the weight they lost on their backs. This time it came in the form of a body suit with an extremely advantageous prize. Not only would the winner get $10,000, but they’d receive the “Biggest Loser Diet Plan” of prepared, delivered meals. It’s amazing how The Biggest Loser has truly become a brand full of work-out videos (I happen to own one), cook-books, and now a meal delivery program. Once again Mark wins, but all felt pretty cathartic shedding the body suits which stood for their previous selves.

Ali tells the contestants that she has a surprise to motivate and help them reflect. Each person sees their individual video montage from week 1 until now. It’s a great mix of sadness from where they were and achievement from where they are today. After seeing Ali's, Jillian tells her she's sure she's the one to win and I think she could be right.

At the weigh-in, Roger goes first. He loses an astounding 15 pounds to break the record of the biggest weightloss on campus in BL history. Mark then loses 12 and I’m scared for my girls. Ali stands on scale and cannot look skinnier. Honestly, how tiny will she be at the finale if she already looks this small? As her number is juggling on the scale, I’m going “no way,” and then she hits an 11 pound loss and I am baffled. She’s 135 pounds and well on her way to being the female Biggest Loser and if not that, at least one hot chica. Ali also breaks a record by losing more weight than any other woman in BL history. Kelly then loses 12 pounds to get her into the finale and I have goose bumps! I’m so happy for the girls.

The big twist this week was no surprise to viewers at home. We all knew that the 3rd person to go to the finale would be chosen by America. While I think this actually helps Roger because people like him and want to root for him, I think if he makes it to the finale he could beat the girls. Before they head home, they get the ritual cardboard cut-out of themselves from week 1. The final four reflect with their trainer but then put on their nice clothes and heads home, ready to take the next step in their journey towards a better life. They all look and feel amazing and just as they enter the doors to their life beyond the campus, we’re cut off and I’m left anxious to see what happens next week.

So who are you going to vote for? I’m personally torn as I like Roger more than Mark, but want Kelly or Ali to win! Any predictions for the at-home Biggest Loser?

Good lord, Robyn, how fast do you type?!?! It's 15 minutes after the show is over and you've got the blog up! Good for you!

I haven't been able to watch the last 3 or 4 weeks, but caught the last 15 minutes of tonight and am just STUNNED at how amazing everyone looks. I can't wait for the finale next week!

Chef Rocco's dishes looked mouth-watering? Chef Rocco looked mouth-watering. :)

Anyway, the girls did amazingly well! There had to be tricks involved to get numbers this high -- particularly since it was the last week and they knew they didn't have to worry about another weigh-in for months. I'm picturing skipped meals on that last day and some other such tricks.

Here's hoping Roger doesn't win the vote -- Kelly can beat anyone but him since Mark and Ali don't have any weight left to lose. I really can't believe Kelly made it. I've been rooting for her for so long, each week praying she'd squeak by. And she even straightened her hair again for the last weigh in! Yay!

I want Ali to win; if not her, then Kelly. They have done amazingly well. You go girls!!!!

I think Roger should win. He has lost the most weight both in total pounds and percentage wise. Isn't that the definition of Biggest Loser?

I would really like to see a woman win and I think Kelly not Ali could do it as Ali doesn't have much more to lose. I don't particulary want Kelly to win as I feel she "whined" a lot and was always complaining. As I am Canadian (Ya!!!) I can't vote, but I think Roger should be in the final.

Actually, all four of them deserve to be in the final...they have all done so amazing. I can't believe how tiny Ali looks and can't even imagine what she will look like at the finale.

One other note...why does it always have to be "man vs. woman"? Why can't it be about "competitors vs. competitors"? In the end, it should always be about "let the best person win".

I am ready for a woman to win. Let's make some more history! While some see Roger as the "logical" winner, I'd also like to use logic to state that Ali has made history this season for doing what no other woman has done on the show before her. She has lost more total weight than any other woman. I don't recall that Roger has lost more than any man on BL to date, maybe that is an oversight on my part.

Ali has shown that she has the drive (after all, she did fight her way back onto campus while Roger has had the continued benefit of his BL setup). She seems to be the only one that can truly physically compete with Mark (or should I say "cry on 3").

Roger was able to coast to the end with the strong support of the Blue Team, whereas these women have had no one to count on but themselves. And for me to have beaten the odds all the while winning the "battle of the bulge" is the ultimate definition of BL.

mvj41...Roger, just tonight, beat the record of the most weight lost on the show ever. Did you not watch tonight?

Also, Roger has lost 144 pounds...I wouldn't really call that "coasting"!

I don't understand how they could say Ali lost the most weight for a woman. If I'm not mistaken, the at home loser from last year also lost 99 pounds which means Ali tied the record.

I was thinking of voting for Roger for the final person because I can't stand Mark, but after reading some of the comments, I think Kelly has a better chance of winning if she's up against Mark and Ali.

I thought the same thing ScottyT. No way everyone lost the amount of weight that they did any other way. Also, I think Ali has lost too much weight now. Her face was looking kind of gaunt and not really healthy.

For me, this show last night was about an hour too long. We had to sit through the video montage of everyone's journey and then we sat through them looking at and reflecting on cardboard cut-outs of themselves when they first arrived. Too much filler.

Loved the Rocco part and I am hoping he puts out a cookbook with healthier versions of favorite meals.

I voted for Mark to be the 3rd contestant. I love his competitive spirit and since he keeps winning all the individual challenges, I thought he deserved to be in the top 3.

reality junkie.... Ali lost the most weight ON CAMPUS than any other woman, that's how she got the title. The other woman you're speaking of was at home....

I've felt thru this whole season it wasn't fair that it was men vs. women...and I'm ready to see a woman win it all! I personally voted for Mark to be the 3rd finalist...even though I cannot stand the man!

Go Kelly & Ali!

I thought Ali lost 13 and Kelly lost 11?? Was I seeing wrong?

I'm voting Roger in. To me, the show is called the BIGGEST LOSER not "The Biggest Loser only when your best competition isn't there" I'd like for Ali to win (I really don't care for Kelly much) but I want her to win going up against Roger, not avoiding him.

He's lost an AMAZING amount of weight and I think he deserves to be there at the end.

I actually think that last week, the scales in Australia were "off", compared to the one they use back on U.S. campus....hence everyone's small weight drop last week. This week, they were back on the "skinny" scale, and for all intents and purposes showed a weight loss for two weeks. :) That is my theory anyway as to how everyone posted such huge loss numbers this final week. (That plus dehydration, probably. We have all heard about the massive sauna/steam sessions prior to a weigh-in.)

I agree....something is very strange about how much weight the women lost last night. Kelly hasn't come close to losing that much since the first week and all the sudden, she loses 13 pounds??? Plus, after 15 weeks, the pounds usually slow down and they lose less and less each week. What happened? Could it be that the show manipulated the numbers??? Wouldn't surprise me....
