Q&A With Big Brother Winner Adam

Hey guys!

One last piece of Big Brother 9 for you! My interview with Adam moments after Sunday's finale is now live. Below is an excerpt, as well as the link to the full Q&A. Share your thoughts below! — Adam

TVGuide.com: You told the jury you would be giving some of the money to help disabled children. Do you plan to honor that statement?
Adam:
Ultimately the money is mine, and it's my decision. Being out of the house, I have to take time and see what was going on in the outside world without me there. I've heard there have been some instances that I was unaware of, but yes, I plan on doing the right thing with the money — what's true to my heart and fulfills my word to the jury. I want to help out children in need, bottom line. That's why I came into this house in the first place.

TVGuide.com: Do you have any special plans to celebrate your win?
Adam:
I'm ready to paint the town and take my victory laps. I'm stoked. There are so many simple things you really miss out on being inside that house, like music or really just quality conversation with other people you care about. But I'm Big Baller, and Big Baller's ready to go out and do it big!

TVGuide.com: What was the point in the game when you thought you really had a shot to go the distance?
Adam:
The turning point was definitely when we went to singles. Being partnered with Sheila may have benefited me for a few weeks, but when I split from her, I could play for myself. I could do a bunch of diverse maneuvers and make bonds in the house because it became more of a one-on-one game at that point. When we split, that's when I knew I had a run at the $500,000.

TVGuide.com: If you had won the final head of household, would you have taken Sheila?
Adam:
Like I said, it's all in theory. I don't like to put words in my mouth when they're not my bond. I'm pretty much a man of my word. It would've been the hardest decision I would've had to make in Big Brother. And I'm still 50-50 on that. Sheila could use the money, but Ryan did do a lot more for me in the game. I'm just glad I was able to win the game without having to make that decision.

TVGuide.com: Did you throw the last competition to avoid making that decision?
Adam:
Absolutely not. I wanted to win it for myself.

I'm glad that Adam won.
He seems to be a genuinely nice guy who wants to do something good with the money...he's said that from Day One.
His comments and quirks don't bother me, everyone makes mistakes and has quirks.
At least the winner was someone who seems nice for the first time in quite awhile.

And I'm back from being smote from God for watching this show! Thanks for caring...

So, just to confirm, Adam does know he was fired from his job? No one came right out and said it, though it was implied.

I think I'm happy Adam won over Ryan. I really didn't love anyone this year--though I'm trying to remember the last time I really liked any of the winners. I think that may have been ...never. And she didn't win, but I never rooted for Janelle (I really kind of hated her. I could not and still cannot see the love!) And I hated Boogie. And so many of the others! Huh. It's kind of amazing I continue to watch having seen so many unlikeable people!

Anyway, back to the interview at hand! He really does seem like he wants to do the right thing with the money. It shouldn't matter what he will do with it--but since he brought it up it seems he'll keep his own word--and it'll still leave plenty for himself.

When I saw Jen on that stage with Ryan I just got all pissed off about her again. And she kept pulling up her shirt! Drove me crazy. If you need to pull your shirt up every 10 seconds (it was seriously just about this often) then you have the wrong shirt on! It really ruins the "sexy" effect you're going for if you are constantly adjusting!! Gah!

Ryan won a bit of money early in the game and for his 2nd place status. He'll do OK anyway. Or Jen will.

Oh, and final thought: I was just SO glad there were no marriage proposals! I feared Ryan was going to get on bended knee and say that the time away from Jen was unbearable and he never wanted to do that again and blah blah gack gack. Whew.

While I wish no ill on anyone, I hope Ryan dumps Jen. She just comes across as one of those phony, gold digging, ditzy types. She tried to throw him under the bus by saying that he was a racist, and then lied about it. And, she was engaged to another guy, just last year!

If they do stay together, she won $5,000 from her half of the first contest (the one where Ryan's sweat dripped all over Allison.) Ryan won $50,000, plus $10,000 he took from Sheila in a POV comp, plus a $5,000 shopping spree and gets to go to the movie premiere of the new Ashton Kutcher/Cameron DIaz movie as well as the after party. Pretty good considering they only went on the show because Jen was a fan...Ryan was unfamiliar with it.
