Episode Recap: March 30, 2008

And so the reign of Natalie begins. I must say that I have always believed Natalie was kind of dumb. Between the 27-letter alphabet stunt and her silly theories, I didn't give her much of chance. But she did win a mental competition in the clutch, so I am willing to give her another chance. Though she did do some bone-headed things in tonight's episode (like leaving her knee hanging out when playing HIde and Seek. Regardless, she still cracks me up. Between stalking Matt's picture and incessantly talking to herself, she's always good for some kind of laugh. I guess we will continue to see if she is indeed "playing dumb," as she suggested in the diary room.

It seems that the "Bible Buddies" have spread their holiness to their teammates, forming "Team Christ." It's a risky moniker in a game known for hypocrisy and deceit, but I'm sure after being isolated for 50+ days, something (be it faith of $500,000) has to keep you going. Maybe it was the "holy spirit" that Adam mentioned that got into him and Ryan when they created a whirlpool in the tub. That would at least make some sense of a very quirky, awkward moment in tonight's episode, which is otherwise lost on me.

Between her getting emotional as Natalie read her letter from home and asking Joshuah about how he came out to his parents, we saw a little more of Sheila's motherly side. Joshuah's story might have won over the hearts of the ladies in the house, but didn't he previously say he was outed by someone else rather than his own doing? I seem to remember that being a huge reason why he was upset with Sheila and Allison for their fake lesbian affair. (Or maybe he wasn't referring specifically to his parents in that case.)

Speaking of getting emotional, it was strange to see Crazy James letting the isolation get to him. I believe his feelings for Chelsia are real (despite however awkward a coupling they are), and his reaction to her being gone further proves that. Although I am pulling for the other side of the house, I kind of felt bad for him, mostly because I did like him early on. But his gameplay (and relationship with Chelsia) got him to this point, so it will be interesting to see what he makes of it.

The food competition again wasted some perfectly fine food, as the houseguests clobbered their individual watermelons in the revealing moments of the competition. I must admit the rules of the game made my head spin, but it was basically a test to see how greedy each house guest was, or how greedy each player thought his fellow houseguest was. At the end of the guessing game, however, all of the houseguests except Adam (and Natalie who was immune from slop as HOH) putting themselves on slop this week. The best part of this competition for me was watching some of the houseguests try (and fail) to smash their watermelon. Joshuah's little leg kicks while hammering really cracked me up.

Although James tried to cut a deal with Natalie, she ultimately is still playing this game for Matt. Ryan tried to make the argument to back door him instead of nominating him outright, but I think she made the right decision by putting him up from the beginning. If she had nominated Josh and Sharon in an attempt to back door James, he could have won the veto and saved a nominee, forcing Natalie to put up a member of her own alliance. This way, she can still guarantee that "Team Christ" remains safe this week no matter what happens in the veto competition. I couldn't be happier that Joshuah is finally on the block. He didn't seem so quick to gloat this week! I am surprised, however, that nothing was shown about how this affects Ryan and Joshuah's secret alliance (which I honestly wish Ryan would own up to with his teammates, and end all together.) I am sure if Joshuah remains on the block it will either be discovered or Ryan will betray it. I guess we'll find out after the veto competition.

Are you satisfied with Natalie's nomination of James and Joshuah? Who do you think will win the Power of Veto? Share your thoughts on tonight's episode and check back for more Tuesday! — Adam

Adam, please take over this blog solely. Your postings relate more to the show and the house guests game play than your personal feelings about the house guests. Krista, sounds more like a mean spirited immature teen girl in her musings. Her last posting trashing of Adam for how he looks was simply horrible. This is Big Brother not Make Me A Super Model. I can't answer the questions you posed, since I cheated and looked at one of those spoiler sites and already know the answers. I've spoiled it for myself, but won't spoil it for others. Keep up the good work, Adam.

Was it me, or did anyone else notice that they played the first couple of minutes of the show twice?

Anyway, Natalie is also growing on me. I really can't tell if she is playing dumb or not. If she is, she is certainly good at it. The scenes of her playing hide and seek were a couple of weeks ago. I think with the week that Matt was still in the house. I wonder if Nat's family is proud of her of all the personal info she told about herself and the bj scenes she gave Matt? Probably not!!

As for Sheila getting emotional over Natalie's letter from home, I want to know more info about the revelation of Sheila possibly being related to Matt. There hasn't been much talk about since Matt left 2 weeks ago.

James getting emotional over being alone in the house...oh boo hoo, cry me a river PUULEASE! If he didn't want to be alone in the house, then he should a)voted to for Chelsia to stay in the house b) he should of campaign so that his pychotic playmate could stay in the house, and c) use the veto on Chelsia instead of himself. I hate him so much and I can not waite for him to go.

Besides James I also can not stand Josh. I laughed so hard when he got upset that Natalie beat him at a mental comp. And Im still laughing at it. Being on the block this week serves him right. He really needs to get his ego checked.

I was just reminded of this, Sharon has a slop pass, so why is she willing to go on slop when she doesn't have to?

Another thing that I noticed, was James wearing his underwear in the hot tub? If so that is so sick.

The whirl pool segment was so lame.

SPOILER ALERT

James won POV...what a surprise. Natalie replaced him with Sharon. Bye bye Josh

Thank You k4lakers for that link to James going pyscho on Sheila. Good grief. Did u see the the look on his face when he was yelling at her? He looked so effing weird...very weird. Hopefully they will air that.

James followed in Chelsia's maturity by tping Sheila's bed. I bet they will not air that...probably in 2 weeks.

Adam is Ryan and Nat's raydar for untrustworty.

Since he is on slop, Josh is threaten to eat. But hasn't followed through on it.

END OF SPOILER ALERT

It's hard to pick a favorite among this unlikable cast but at this point in the game, I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Ryan or Natalie win. Maybe an Adam win would be okay considering his public firing due to the insensitive comments he made about autistic children. His company turned a private matter into public humiliation for the guy so I feel for him in a way even though his comments were unacceptable. One thing's for sure, I don't want James or Josh winning.

And as for "Team Christ," I really wish houseguests would stop injecting religion in the game as if they're the models of integrity and the opposition is evil. That's when the players lose touch with reality and the game gets ridiculous. Based on the behavior of the HG's so far, Christ is rarely invited to that house.

Hi all! Mean-spirited teen girl Krista here with more immature musings. What can I say, Tellyman? I simply like to find the humor in this show and exploit it. It's called goofing on people and I suppose if I was on this show people would do the same to me. I have just as much of a right to say those things as you do to blast me for them. If you don't like what I have to say, don't read my blog. I won't be shedding any tears and I don't plan to tone it down.

I agree with adam about natalie showing signs of intelligence. I don't think she's playing dumb as much as she thinks, but she seemed to make an independent decision even if it was based on what Matt would have wanted. Loved the scene when they were all busting on her for staring at Matt's picture. "Did he really like her?" "noooooooooo! He didn't want her!". Everyone is so sure - why couldn't Natalie see??

Since I know how the veto goes I have nothing more to say. I'll be back Wednesday (and Sunday) so if you don't want to be subjected to my filth, check back in here after next tuesday's episode.

xoxo

I just cannot warm up to Natalie. Her affections for Matt are now starting to border on stalker-ish. When she stood there for a while starring at his picture it was a little creepy. The fact that she still believes that Matt is her soul mate, even though he clearly wasn’t feeling the same way, is not healthy. I really think she is turning into a stalker: Stalkers may even have a sincere but misguided belief that their victims love them...Intimacy seekers: The intimacy seeker seeks to establish an intimate, loving relationship with their victim. To them, the victim is a long sought-after soul mate, and they were 'meant' to be together. (Wikipedia) – Sound familiar? I seriously feel bad for Matt now.

My opinion on Nat's stalker qualities aside, I would respect her a lot more if she were playing for herself rather than for Matt. She needs to starting thinking about what's best for her and to get herself into the final two. We all knew she'd put up James and Josh. But after talking it over with my husband, we aren't so sure that would have been the best move for her. Yes, for her current alliance it would be good, she'd be getting rid of two strong players (say what you will about both James and Josh, but you have to admit they are threats), but in the end who would she win against? Personally, I think the biggest threat in the house right now is Ryan. Everyone likes him (or like him more than Natalie), he's been playing the game and if it came down to Nat and Ryan in the end, I think Ryan would get more votes. Think about it...Was it really in her best interest to put them both up?

I don't think she should have kept James off the block and formed that secret alliance with him though. James has won too much for her to go to the final two with. As we've seen in past seasons, sometimes the jury ends up voting for who has played the game the best, not who was in their alliance or who they like better.

Krista, I still love your mean-spirited teen immature musings and will read them evertime. I may not always agree with your opnions (nor I'm sure you don't agree with mine), but I am amused by them and they lighten up my day. Both you and Adam, IMHO, are doing a great job.

MattW, your comments on religion in the game of BB are dead on, IMHO.

Krista~you go, girl.
I enjoy both you and Adam for your abilities writing this column. Keep it up. It can't be easy trying to put perfume on the pig that is BB9.

And we all know you get a fortune for writing this blog, huh?

Well I have no problem with you Krista.:-D I have more of a problem with people that have to bash other people's comments.X-(

lizzybelle ~ I would really like to know more about the Matt and Sheila being related too. At first I thought James was naked in there but it did look like underwear. And YAY for Josh finally being on the block. I saw them tp~ing Sheila's room on youtube. It sure took a lot longer to actually do than for her to rip it down! Boy I would really not want to be Sheila regarding all that is going on in there at the moment. She seems to be taking most of it really well though.

K4 ~ I have to ask you a favor! Since I have no clue how to post clips on here and I am not good at finding them ~ They have been talking about something really funny on Hamsterwatch and I cannot figure out how to watch clips from that sight. (Okay ~ I admit my stupidity!!) They are calling it The O B Incident and I want to see it! Can you post it on here? Thank You so much if you can.

Right on Krista! SO GLAD you commented on the on called for negative reaction to your blogs. UNNECESSARY. If you don't like reading something, as you said, DON'T, but don't throw rocks at the person good enough to write them. We don't have to agree with anyone's opinions or ways of doing things. Doesn't make us right, and them wrong. It does make us look pretty stupid and nasty for it though when we come up with holier than thou comments about what others say!!

Agree with the comments on the show. SORRY I read the spoiler. LOVE spoilers and congrat people on warning us when they're writing one, but this was one I didn't want to read, and didn't know that till I did. Ah well, on to Tuesday!!

Liking Adam and Natalie more, and always liked Ryan. But then I liked Josh too for laugh value, mainly, and Sheila has become much better now that she and Adam aren't fighting (or she isn't) as they did at the beginning. Then I wanted her off.

ZZZ999 ~ Hee hee ~ Pinkie ~ I always love your comments!

LOL and ditto to yours!!

Some things need to be said and when I can't stand it any longer...oops, I say them!!:-D

As for your statement on religion. I'm partially in agreement. I don't care what they each believe and even if they have to talk about it....just don't show it, CBS. And I hate how CBS plays it up so nastily with organ music, etc.
Better to ignore it.

As for spoilers on this site. I'm so proud of you all this season. You've done a wonderful job of respecting others need NOT to know. And if I think that it's going to be hard to ignore them, I just don't come to this blog until after the show that pertains to the spoilers has aired. I do really like when links are left. That gives me the greatest choice of whether to go read them or not.

Crappy show this season..great blog.

I wasn't very surprised to see Natalie put James and Joshuah on the block. It is pretty much guaranteed that if one comes off the block Sharon will go on the block. Either way, James or Joshuah will be kicked out. I don't think Joshuah can win a competition so my money is on his exit.

I thought for a minute that James might be able to talk Natalie into keeping him safe but I knew if she really did think about what was best for her then James had to go on the block. I think backdooring James would have been a bad idea since him winning POV would stop him and Joshuah from leaving. James can save himself but he can't save both this way.

I think Sharon will jump on Natalie's side if Joshuah goes and Sharon can win the next HOH. Sharon is still doing a good job of hiding the threat she is because she can hide behind Joshuah and James for now. Next week she will have to come out of hiding to stay in the game. Sharon and Natalie seem to be on a collision course for the final.

Natalie stalking Matt's picture was funny but I think it was part ruse too. She eyes were mostly on the other pictures. Like she was busy making all the connections to remind her to stick with her plans.

Adam.... give me a break. " Team Christ" Risky. Any one who has watched Bible Thumpers and listened to they way they talk know they are hypocrites. I have many christian friends and they do not seek vengeance on some one because they really believe in their religion and their God. Praying to God for their own benefit and the destruction of others to help their own self is the mark of a "Bible Thumping" hypocrite. My friends (true Christians) always pray to help others and the less fortunate. These are the ones I admire and respect. I can't believe that a real true Christian would approve of the way things are being conducted in the "Team Christ Gang".
