Episode Recap: March 18, 2008 (Veto Competition/Ceremony 5)
Well, James, to put it in his own words, made a "clean f---ing sweep" this week. As much as his still being in the house at all angers me, I guess he's earned his kudos. Although I did admire his gameplay early (he was the only one playing before the couple split), this week was all about revenge, which usually isn't the smartest way to play. But when you win all the competitions, I guess you deserve to play as you like.
The show began with some (seemingly genuine) appreciation of Natalie's endurance in the HOH competition from Matt. It was shocking to see Matt (who to this point has been the raging tough guy who treated Natalie like dirt most of the time) say kind things about his former partner. He even said if he was next to her in the final two, he would hope for her to win the money. True? Who knows? But now that Matt is sitting on the block, we may not have to worry about it anyway.
That's right, James went back on his original promise to keep Matt and Natalie safe this week by removing Sheila during the veto ceremony and nominating Matt as his "back door" target. I don't mind Matt so much, but seeing him go wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. After all, it keeps Ryan (who I'm routing for considering how his entire week as HOH was nullified by the producers when James came back) in the house another week.
Sadly, though it looks like Matt will have to depend on Adam to win the money in order to fund their trip to find the Holy Grail. Ha! The "Bible Buddies" segment again cracked me up, mostly because of Matt's ignorance and sheer excitement about going on a quest. Honestly, who hasn't heard of the Holy Grail? Of course, Adam may not be around much longer if power stays in the James-Chelsia-Joshuah-Sharon alliance, as he was James' original target to be back-doored. Had it not been for I-smell-a-rat Sharon revealing that Natalie was covering up Matt's lies (she's a sneaky little smart one, that Sharon), Adam and his crazy eyes would've talked himself onto the block. It's pretty incredible how much it seemed like he was lying, even when he was telling the truth!
I really wish Sheila had stayed on the block and gone home. While I do have to give her credit for being a good sport when the entire house pranked her about the POV competition in the middle of the night (which made me chuckle quite a bit), she was a total drama queen for most of the show. Her repeated crying over the conversation she had with Natalie about the guinea pig cage "POV mystery" and then her mouthing off about being "alone" in the game really began to bug me. Does she not realize that everybody is out for themselves at the end of the day? And why should Adam have her back after the crap she gave him for the first two weeks in the house? Come on, Sheila.
It will be interesting to see how far Natalie will spin out of control if/when Matt gets evicted tonight. Last night's show ended with her angry speech in the diary room against James. Can she turn that emotion into an HOH win and perhaps get some revenge? Also, am I the only one who wants Joshua's alliance with Ryan to be revealed? "A-Baller" is getting the reputation of being a floater, but Joshuah is the guiltiest of playing both sides. Plus, I don't want Ryan to continue thinking Josh has his back. That could easily lead to his downfall.
So who do you think will be going home? Who do you want to see win HOH? We'll find out tonight, so be sure to leave your thoughts and check back for more tomorrow. — Adam

Matt - don't let the doorknob hit ya.
On second thought, let it hit you hard and repeatedly.

I hope that Matt is evicted tonight, but I have a feeling it is going to be Ryan.

James thinks that it was Matt and Ryan who instigated the plan to back door him but it was Sheila! LOL

Two things for those of you watching the feeds and BBAD... Why do they call Adam "A-Baller"? and do you think Joshuah really has an alliance with Ryan? It's hard to tell based on the conflicting comments he makes on the broadcast.

I don't know why everyone hates on Matt. I like him. He has played the game well and I am really rooting for him to win. 2nd place would be Ryan for my choice. James makes me sick with his attitude that he was "backdoored", hello...it is a game that everyone who is there wants to win! Sheila drives me nuts with all her crying etc. If she is so worried about her son being "proud" of her, maybe not posing naked would of been a great place to start! Then get out of that unitard...it looks stupid. Josh and Adam and Sharon are all flying low under the radar and someone needs to do something about it. Josh needs to be "outed" about his alliance with Ryan because we all know he will not be loyal to Ryan. I hope Matt stays this week because he is truly playing the game and I hate when "under the radar" people make it too far!

Sheila doesn't have a choice - she had to wear it for a week - so it was from POV to POV
I agree that it looks stupid though

elizabelle,
I think they call Adam 8-baller, not A-baller, which is a billiard reference.

8-Baller would make much more sense, but in the captions they have used "A-Baller". Whatever. I was just curious if there was more of a story there. We all know they don't show the vast majority of backstory (clearly, because of the time and FCC issues). I like hearing how all the stuff they don't show fits into the big picture.

I must've missed "A-Baller" in the captions. Of course the captions are based on what the editors hear and they are only shown when the conversation is quiet (unless you have CC on), so the editors may have missed it as well.
I know early on, I definitely heard the 't' in "8-Baller".

Im kinda torn on who I wanted voted out. Mainly because of Natalie. If Matt if voted out she will go insane. Can u imagine if that happens? And I don't want to see that. But if she stays we will have the same ole Nat.
I really thought that James should of backdoored Adam. He really isn't a threat....not yet. But you really don't know what he is thinking. If he is thinking at all. Adam is all talk but has no game plan.
James is really getting on my nerves about who was the 3rd vote of not voting him back into the house. He needs to get over it, he is back into the house that is all that matters. And Im still upset that he was voted back into the house. That was very dumb move on the producers part.
The next person who I want to see out is either Josh, Adam , Sharon, or Chelsia. Those 4 espcially Chelsia grate on my nerves.
Honestly, who hasn't head of the Holy Grail? I got what u were saying. lol
From what I have been reading on the boards is that Ryan might be the one who will be going home. But as we all know things can happen, with the other HG's and of course the producers putting their 2 cents in on things. The person who I want to win HOH is anyone besides Josh and Chelsia.

I don't know for sure what they are calling Adam- but "baller" is slang for everything from being rich to cool to a player. So they could be calling him A(for his first initial)-Baller.
I cannot believe I actually took the time to just type that out.

i've alwasy wondered the same thing. i have also seen the A-baller caption, and assumed the A was for adam in some dorky way; to me, it had bawston matty all over it.

I was surprised that James removed Sheila from the block in a way. It was a smart move in that Sheila was clearly feeling like an outsider and this was an easy way to get Sheila on his side. I wasn't at all surprised Matt was the replacement nominee. I figured James had back-dooring on his mind.
I am also surprised how fast Matt fell in my rankings. First to sixth to probably out of the game in two weeks. Like with all of the players, once their flaw is found and exploited they fall quickly. The middle of the road players last the longest most of the time. Dominant players win a lot but they are usually surrounded by bit players in the end.
I look for Matt to be voted out mainly because James has the numbers to do it and they are realizing they are running out of time to get rid of him. I get the feeling James and Ryan will get past their differences and work together to some degree since their differences kind of seem like they are not serious.
This next HOH may be one of the more important events in the game, so far.
