Episode Recap: April 13, 2008
Pre-Blog Note: Due to a 40 minute delay on the East Coast (stupid golf), I am even more crabby than usual. Hold onto your hats!
So the house guests had some mercy on long-suffering Sheila and threw her a win in the HOH. My first surprise was that Ryan hung in there and outlasted Sharon, who had a disappointing showing due to a bad back. That must not have been an easy competition for a man of his, well, girth. But I'm rooting for him or ol' google eyes Adam, so it's good to see he has some fight in him. The hardest part of an endurance competition in that house must be dealing with Natalie's (Gnat, as some of you perfectly call her) constant yapping and shiz-talking. She's a fierce competitor though. I'm surprised she came down for Sheila. It may turn out to be her biggest mistake. Fingers crossed. Sheila was right about how telling it was that Natalie said she didn't feel safe. It's hard to trust when you're untrustworthy. Let the in-fighting begin!
I realized Sheila was desperate, but was surprised she agreed to put her loyal friend Sharon on the block. Not only that, she said Adam was the one person she's truly aligned with. What? I don't think he feels the same way and have yet to see a scene where they have confirmed their loyalties to one another. Let me know if I've missed something.
Could it be that everyone was against Natalie before this HOH comp even began? Ryan was very quick to say he'd throw it to Sheila. Maybe he doesn't want to be the one to get rid of Gnat. Also, everyone was telling her to drop. If they didn't want her gone, why would they care which one of them won? It was pretty evident Gnat knew in her gut something wasn't right since she continued to hang on regardless of the deal. She also kept asking: what would Jesus do? Well if she's going to compare her little game with, say, dying on the cross, I'd say He'd stay up in the box and never give up. Apparently Gnat thought quitting was the answer to her question. She may be safe for now, but who knows!
I was happy for Sheila when she got her HOH room. I'm not a mother, but it has to be awful being away from your child. She didn't even have a picture so I'm glad she does now. Adam cracked me up when he said he wished 25 year old Sheila was in this house "instead of this thing". Classic Adam. I give him a hard time, but he's the comic relief of the show. Wait until he sees her Penthouse photos. He's gonna go biserk! She was quite a dish. It was nice to see them bonding. They have come a long way. I still think he's voting her out next week.
Funniest part of the show: when the houseguests were talking about the features on the opposite sex that turn them on. They were throwing around face, chest etc. and then Sharon said eyes and teeth. The cameras immediately cut to Adam, sporting one of his signature goofy faces. Eyes and teeth just aren't his strong suit. He then proceeded to pick his nose. I can't make this stuff up.
What I love about this point in the game is how hard it is to predict who is going to the jury. If the wrong person wins a POV, the odds of someone unexpected going up and out are good. Also, everyone is playing all sides because there are so few sides left to play. The house may be against Natalie, but she's not really doing anything the others aren't. She's just not hiding it as well and is kind of annoying everyone. Newsflash Gnat: Team Christ no longer exists. Adam and Sharon are on the block, but the wheels are turning and she could find herself snuggling up to Mattie by the end of the week. Does she have any idea she's being plotted against? It doesn't appear so. They better hope for a mental POV competition (most likely decreasing Gnat's chances) or it could be the end for Sharon. We'll find out Tuesday. Who are you rooting for to win the veto? Who is most likely to use the veto and on who? Let's here some theories on possible scenarios! Chat below and check back here after the next exciting episode. — Krista

So Sheila wins *cough* the HOH. What the heck was Natalie thinking? She is way too gullible at times. If she can avoid eviction and get the next HOH she is in a great spot. Heck, if you want to look good by doing something nice you should forget it. Sharon got as many brownie points as Natalie just by saying she would give Sheila the win than Natalie did by actually giving the HOH to Sheila.
One of my pet peeves is 'poor me' plays. Sheila's worked but it still annoyed me. She spends all game long (from day one) saying she is playing for her son. Then she says she needs to win HOH to remember why she is playing. She really needs a reminder? And Natalie was dumb enough to buy it? One thing the whining does is tell the rest of the players that Sheila will play the 'poor me' routine if she makes the final. The 'poor me' routine will win it for her over Adam or Ryan and those two should think about that.
I keep thinking Sharon needs to step out of the comfortable place she is in to win. I have changed my mind. Let the other players go after each other for two more weeks. Ryan and Adams' only shot to win the game is face each other in the final. I think it is too late for them to make that happen.
I would like to see Sharon win POV just because I want her to switch to a winning mindset instead of a non-caring mindset. Sharon would pull herself off the block and Natalie would go up. I think Natalie will win it though and either pull Sharon off the block or leave nominations alone. Natalie is the replacement if she doesn't have POV. No matter what, I get the feeling a guy will be leaving this time. I guess that is Adam.

I learned something amusing about spoilers this week. See, I posted my power rankings Wednesday (and later got confused with double blogs. lol) and read some, skipping the spoiler, and finally gave up reading. I thought I managed to skip the lone spoiler but thought the conversation would switch to that spoiler and ruin my way of watching Big Brother. I have nothing against the spoilers anymore, just the discussions of what the spoiler revealed. Anyway, reading tonight I learned I could have just read the rest of the posts and never knew. Oh, well. One other thing though, if I had read the spoiler and knew Sheila won HOH I would have looked forward to tonight's show just to figure out how in the world Sheila could have possibly won anything. Had to be charity.

At this point in the game, giving up an HOH is pretty stupid. Granted you still have POV to keep you safe, but there is no guarantee that you will win it.
Sheila really is a piece of work. When Amanda was in the house, Sheila said she felt protective of her. Then when she left, Shebot said Amanda was always starting trouble and she was annoying.
Sheila was attached at the hip to Allison, so much so that they pretended to be a lesbian couple with a kid. Then as soon as Allison was gone, Sheila talked about how much she disliked her and the lies she told.
After Chelsia's "rode hard" comment Sheila talked about how she was immature and had no class. Then the next minute she says it was too hard to vote her out because Chels reminded her of her sister.
Sheila constantly complained about Joshuah's verbal attacks and threats of physical violence. Then once he's gone, she's telling James and Sharon how she really didn't want to get rid of him, and how the house is not as fun without him.
Sheila couldn't stand James, again because of the nasty comments he was making. True to form, as soon as he leaves she's saying how she wanted to keep him around, that it wasn't her decision, and that James reminds her of her son.
Sheila never really cared for or trusted Sharon. Now all of a sudden they're best buds, and Sharon also reminds Shebot of her sister.
Sheila is still angry with Ryan over that ten thousand. But now all of a sudden she wants to keep Rye Bread over Nat. She also told Ryan how much she respects Jen, even though she hated her in the beginning.
Sheila has been talking about how she doesn't respect Natalie because she has dreams but she hasn't fulfilled them yet. She said something about how she's so desperate that she has to sell coffee in a bikini. This statement is coming from a woman who showed off her lady business in Penthouse and dated that walking venereal disease - Scott Baio.
Sheila is doing all this to score votes with the jury. The reality is she only has a shot against Ryan or Nat. Anyone going against Sharon will lose, and Sheila will get creamed if she is against Baller.

Since last Wednesday, it's been almost unbearable to watch BBAD or read the spoiler site updates. The BB house has turned into the house of hypocrisy.
Let's start with Sheila who is on the biggest power trip of the entire season. The same woman who was GIVEN the HOH from Natalie! Not only can she not win anything on her own, she can't even drop out of the box correctly (she broke her tooth when falling)! Bobby-J (well said by the way) summed up Sheila perfectly. Playing the game with integrity??!! Her family must be as delusional as she is.
She-bot and Sharon have been camped up in the HOH or whispering in a corner trashing Natalie (behind her back of course) non stop. Sharon may have some people fooled, but she is just as nasty as anyone else in the house. She's just been smart enough to let her other alliance members do all of the dirty work. One thing Sheila ranted about is that Natalie always talks to her like she's dumb. This is coming from the woman who said on tonight's show, "It's very simple, it's not like it's confiscated or anything." Oh and Sheila, the word is scenario, not senerial!
So in one corner it's been a remake of Mean Girls and in another, I've seen a side of Ryan and Adam that I don't like ... they too are plotting to betray Natalie. I guess what I find so appalling is that yes, Natalie is working all angles (as far as I can tell, it seems she would have stayed loyal to Adam and Ryan for the final 3), but so is EVERYONE!
-Sharon: Secret alliance with Ryan, kissing up to Sheila and wanting to be part of the girls alliance. Not to mention, has stated on several occassions that she hates A/R/N/S and is playing the game for revenge for her evicted "Evil Doer" alliance members.
-Ryan: "Team Christ" alliance, final 2 alliance with Adam, final 3 alliance with Adam and Natalie, secret Alliance with Sharon (also had a secret alliance with Joshuah).
-Adam: Alliance with Sheila, alliance with Ryan, Final 3 alliance with Ryan and Natalie, Team Christ alliance (I think he also had an understanding with Joshuah).
-Sheila: Alliance with Adam, member of "Team Christ", and best buddies with whoever is the current HOH. Loves you one week when it's convenient and hates you the next and then loves you again. James reminds her of her son, eh? Last week she was calling him a "con-man". I wonder if he reminded her of her son when he was calling her a B***h and a C*** and screaming in her face? Unbelievable.
I think I'm rooting for Natalie (gNat) for now (this will probably change by the next show -- LOL)... yes she's annoying as heck but I think that she's being targeted unfairly and has helped and (so far) remained loyal to the people that are now turning on her. Had she stayed in that box and won HOH, these same people would be kissing her behind right now.

Wow, I just finished watching tonight's show. I'm not going to say much about tonight's show cause everyone else pretty much summed it for me....especially about Sheila. A big "WTH" came from me when Sheila said James reminded her of her son? All I can say about Sheila is that she must have 2 personalities. Loved your assessment bobby-j about Sheila. And I was thinking the same thing k4lakers about Sheila and James when he was yelling at her a few weeks ago. And I haven't seen BBAD in a couple of days....and I don't think I care to watch it. I got better things to watch.
Adam still cracks me up. I would love to see the look on his face when he sees Sheila's Penthouse pics...that is going to be hysterical.
I thought the morph pic of Evel Dick and Dr. Will was an ugly dude.
Did anyone else notice Sheila putting on lipstick with a q-tip? Or was that an eyeshadow applicator? What's wrong they can't bring lip brushes into the house or something?
k4lakers, I'm also rooting for Natalie. However I don't want her to win. I want her to make it to the final 3 just to piss of Chels, Josh, and James. That will make my day....and I would absolutely love it when they find out that she is final 3. I think that is so funny.
I really think the final 2 is going to be Adam and Sheila. Can you imagine if that happens. Sheila started yelling at him in Day 1. They could of been the first couple to be evicted but they weren't. And now look at them.
****** SPOILER ALERT ******
Adam won POV. Sheila replaced him with .....gnat.
***** END OF SPOILER ALERT *****

Actually, Sheila DOES have 2 personalities. She says Sheila is her nice persona, and Kimberly is her evil one. Likewise, Sharon calls her "Ghetto" side, Hoops. They all call Adam "Baller" or "A-Baller," and they call Ryan "Rye Bread" but I think Adam calls him "Oil." Not shown, while in the glass box, Ryan breathed on the glass and wrote oil in the steam mark. So, everyone except Natalie has a stupid nickname or alter-ego. Unless gNat has one that I'm forgetting. I have one for her, but I won't use it here. ">
Also not shown, Sharon claims that the reason her back hurt was the morning of the HOH (which was also the morning of James being evicted) James jumped on top of her while she was in bed, just goofing around. But his knees drove right into her back. She said as soon as she got into that box, her back flared up big time, which is why she couldn't even last 10 minutes. Any other comps, she said, and she probably would have done better.
I think it's funny that they showed Sheila's Penthouse Pet of the Year cover (the framed B&W photo that everyone liked) but they didn't identify it as such. If you noticed in the photo, she was wearing the Penthouse Key on a necklace.

lizzybelle ~ You just couldn't help yourself could you?
Subsequent slightly spoilery spiel ~
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Haha ~ Just kidding! I already knew myself and I still like seeing the POV even if I know who wins. I will be very surprised if she can survive this. I think Adam & Shelia as final two would be extremely ironic ~ and pretty likely right now. Then I would want Adam to win. And it would be too funny if the people that vote for Adam said they would have voted for Sheila had she not been so mean to Adam at the start!
And I agree ~ the morph of Dick and Will was not cute!
Oh I just really hope they have some good people for BB 10. And I don't mean "good people"!

zzz, i'm with you on the season 10 thing; i usually start out every season saying i dont like any of them, but then they either grow on me or entertain me enough to keep me interested. this season i have not cared the whole time, and still dont. of the ones left, i guess i would say sharon or ryan, but really dont care. i hope BB has learned a lesson, and will get some good people. i fear they will get a bunch of crazy, EXTREME stereotypes though.
i didnt see the dick/will morph and missed when she said that but when i read it it sure told me a lot about sheila---i wouldnt want ANY kind of combo of those two! ick, NOT good boyfriend material!!!

The plot to remove Nat is one week too early. Right now Sharon owns every vote on the jury other than Matt. That is too much power to screw with when you don't know if you will be in a position to get her out later. The smart play is to get Sharon out now and deal with Nat next week.

dasjman,
I don't agree with you regarding Nat. This week is the only time they can get her out. You have to take you chance when the opportunity arises.
Sharon hasn't been doing to well in the competitions, so they can get her out at anytime. Whereas Nat is almost always in the running to win most comps.
If the boot Sharon out this week, then it will be Nat, Adam, and Ryan competing for HOH. It will be a mental challenge which means Adam or Nat will probably win.
If Nat is in the final 3 she will compete for HOH no matter what. The final HOH is 3 parts, 2 of which are physical which favors Nat. Odds are that Nat would win the final HOH and has a good shot of winning the final 2 HOHs which would put her in the final 2.
Without Nat, the final 4 would be fairly equal and it would be anyone's ballgame.
And for the most part when it comes down to the picking the winner most of the people in the jury will look past their alliances and judge by game play. Even if they don't their would end up being 4 people in the jury that weren't allied with Sharon.

I am FURIOUS at Adam & Ryan to fall for Sheila/Sharon’s BS – they are ALL lying and why target Natalie; the one whose responsible for getting them all to where they are today. My feeling is if they get rid of Natalie BEFORE Sharon, I hope Sharon wins, because she will have passed off the biggest lie in BB history. And what is up with Sheila? I couldn’t stand her before and can’t stand her even holier than thou additude – she was the one who sat up with James and kissed his butt, but when Natalie does it, she is a trader. And Sharon lies her way through the whole game, the topper was when Sheila’s sister said in her letter about her integrity.. oh please, this women from day one has had an attitude remember how she wigged out when she found out Adam was her partner? That isn’t integrity – NONE of them are thinking end game (except Sharon) because if Sheila and Sharon went to the end, Sharon would win hands down, she was the target that got away. It just ticks me off that they aren’t sticking with their original alliance; then work on getting Natalie out – that would make better sense in the “end game” (especially for Ryan and Adam - who are my favorites) The biggest reason I want them to vote Sharon out though her voice is getting on my very last nerve, but then so is Sheila!

Ok, why keep Sharon? All of her friends are in the jury house... Why would Ryan want to get rid of Natalie? If Sheila or Adam win out of the final three they will bring each other to the final two. Why in the world would he want to be in the final two with Sharon??? I don't get getting rid of Natalie at all, not at this point. They need to get rid of Sharon, she has the most friends in the jury.
