« Big Brother 9
Episode Recap: April 6, 2008
I've always thought Adam was an odd individual, but I loved his nomination speech. James did an impressive job of persuading Adam to keep him off the block, but Adam spun it in such a way that he actually made a good point: If they want James out so bad, they should get him out themselves. James never did anything to Adam. It was a risky move and has upset his entire alliance, but maybe this will be good for the game. Maybe the power is shifting. Sheila is not going to be a peach for him to deal with this week, especially since she's up against eternal pawn Sharon. Maybe this will inspire both girls to get fired up enough to win something. However, if I'm Adam I'd say this would be a perfect week to flip. He should be sensing that Natalie and Ryan are more loyal to each other than to him and that he could be the odd person out. If the veto is won by someone who will use it, he could put up someone from his alliance and turn this game around. At the very least, it'd be excellent television.
Here's a question for you all: If God speaks to Natalie, how come he didn't warn her about Adam's nominations? Hmmmmm
I wonder how she would answer that. This Team Christ business is turning my stomach. I don't begrudge anyone their beliefs, but maybe she should realize that God has disease, famine, war and the general destruction of the planet to worry about than picking sides in Big Brother. I love how Adam said "I don't want to be on Team Christ". Smart choice. That may be the most sense he's ever made to me.
From what little I've seen on Showtime, Adam does seem to tease Sheila rather frequently. He likes to torture her with the possibility of going up. I guess he wasn't just teasing her. Was he ever on her side? I think he's been waiting to get rid of her. The TP incident was funny, but the flour on the face may have been a little ridiculous. If they did it to everyone it'd be different, but they are targeting her and I sort of feel bad for her. She's like the friend in the group that no one likes but they keep around to make fun of so no one else gets picked on. For some odd reason, she trusts him and I don't think that's a smart move for her. She should team up with Sharon and James.
Not sure how I feel about this "nice people" alliance of Sharon and Ryan. It's interesting in the sense that they are both intelligent people and could possibly make a run for the end. But in my opinion, it's stupid for Ryan. Everyone likes Sharon and with Chelsia and Josh on the jury, she's got 2 votes already. Most likely, James and Sheila won't last much longer and then that's the 4 votes she needs to win. He should stick with his current group and try to take Natalie or Sheila. He could easily beat either of them.
Honk! Honk! Get on the gravy train to nationally televised embarrassment. After a week on slop, I don't know if I'd be able to stop myself from eating the mashed potatoes instead of making a tunnel out of them in order to fill up a plastic cylinder with gravy. Despite much slipping, arguing and Sheila-blaming, the house guests managed to secure some decent food for the week. At least no one had to wear an asparagus suit or drink pig's blood or something.
Where does Natalie get these socks? Did she bring them all or does Big Brother give them to her? Does anyone else in America wear socks like these? Gee wiz.
Natalie and Ryan were right to double team Adam and confront him on his idea to nominate Sheila and Sharon. Why did someone have to tell him who to nominate in both of his HOH weeks. Part of me gets why they want to get rid of James, but then again I don't get why they are so hell bent on it. At this point in the game, everyone is a threat. Why him? They focus all their energy on getting rid of him but they aren't thinking of what happens when they have to start turning on one another. I was shocked that James' tears were real. At first I thought he was pulling a Josh. I still think all of this James hatred comes from his decision to put Matt on the block and so he is made to suffer for actually making a strategic move. Maybe it was too soon, but I still thought it was bold and he's doing a hell of a job staying in the game. But who knows what will happen at the Veto. Can he win 4 in a row and shift the power back to his "side"? Tune in Tuesday to find out! Until then, chat below. — Krista

Anyone who claims to be on Team Christ is someone I can't stand to win. Nothing against God...but rather how he's being used by these people.
But, now that I think about it--it's only Natalie. I only watch what's shown on TV so maybe other HGs have said it--but it seems like Natalie is the only person who keeps going on about God helping her and "Team Christ."
Yuck. For that reason alone I do not want Natalie to win. Having that team name suggests that others who aren't on that team are immoral (or more immoral than certain Team Christ members), or are just bad people. I don't agree with everything James has done but the judgment on him seems to be against everything a team "for Christ" should be about. Oh, the hypocrisy!
Ridiculous.
I also don't know why they are so hellbent on getting rid of James. I can only think that they aren't focusing much (at least when in a group together) on getting rid of each other in just a couple of weeks. So, instead, they'd rather focus on an outsider of the group and send him/her packing and worry about the in-fighting later.
I don't think it's a great strategy to keep focusing on the same person/people week after week. There are other things happening in the house that maybe they would notice if they weren't so busy ganging up on one person...
Yeah...I wasn't unhappy about Adam's decision. Everyone always wants someone else to do the dirty work and they claim it's "in the best interest" of the current HOH but, right, come on, no one is that selfless (at least not on a game show like BB).

Wow, that was quick in getting this blog posted. Good job!
I am so SICK of Team Christ. That has GOT to be the most obnoxious name for a group in any reality show ever. BB has had it's share of groups with obnoxious names: "Chill Town," "Four Horsemen," "Friendship," "Sovereign Six," but TC takes the cake, the plate, the table cloth, the table, and the floor it all rests on. Ugh!
They continue to show things out of order. The pranks pulled on Sheila all happened while Josh was still in the house, and had to do with April Fool's Day which was the day BEFORE Josh got evicted. The BB show was pulling pranks too, they had a guy in a Lucha Libre type mask stand behind the camera mirrors and flip on a flashlight so a HG could briefly see their masked face floating inside the mirror which would scare a HG (usually Josh,) and they shut the water off while Sheila and Natalie were taking showers. They also pulled ED's prank where they put a band on the sprayer in the kitchen sink and it sprayed Sheila when she turned the water on. The HGs explained that they pick on Sheila because (as Natalie put it) Sheila has the best reactions. Josh, however, is a close second. It's too bad they never showed the pranks pulled on Josh. Do a search on YouTube. His reactions are SO funny, and one time both he and Adam screamed like little girls. Good stuff.
I liked Adam's rationale for putting up Sheila, but really, he made a dumb move. Nat was right, if James won and took down Sharon, one of their own would be going. Still, I think it was a nice gesture on Adam's part to have James' key in the box and not back in the HOH room.
Sheila hasn't won ANYTHING so far, but I still think she'll be in the Final Two. At one point, I had wanted it to be James and Natalie as they're playing this game harder than anyone, but Nat and her "evil doers" and TC bible thumping crap is just too obnoxious. Currently, I'm hoping for Adam and whoever else can fight their way there.

Adam is either an evil genius or an idiot. Sometimes the line between is too small to see. So what if he made Sheila mad? She is always mad at him anyway. So what if he made Ryan mad? Ryan already changes alliances anyway. What he also did was take James' whole driving force away from him. And he gave the others a reason to actually play. James drive in winning POVs was out of desperation and now he may not feel so desperate and therefore put less effort into winning POV. The others haven't even really tried to win POV, especially last week. Now they have a reason to.
Worse case scenario is his alliance turns on him. Well, he just opened the door to a new alliance with James so this nomination could be a huge turning point. Playing a little psychological game with everyone may be the only real way to backdoor James. Nothing else has worked since the last time James was backdoored. If James wins POV anyway he will pull Sharon off the block and Adam will be able to change alliances at the best possible time.
These people cry way too much in this game. All that is doing is letting other players know who can be manipulated at what times. I think Adam took advantage of it with James and will take advantage of Sheila's weakness next week.
I think Adam also psyched himself up and will win POV, remove Sheila from the block, and put James up. That will send James home.
I think the Team Christ name is bad for one reason. It makes it sound like they are all the same. Everyone's relationship with their God is different and they may view another's actions differently according to their own beliefs. Maybe Natalie's God does help her at times and doesn't at other times. Her God may not care if she wins Big Brother but he might care if he can use parts of the game to teach her things.

That was the most ridiculous crybaby BS I have seen in a while. I can't believe Adam was stupid enough to let James talk himself off the block. I am sick of the guys crying on every reality show I see these days. I got way too much of that with the childish brothers on Biggest Loser. Why can't men be men anymore?

This really does proove once and for all that even "reality tv" isn't all that it seems and it's all in the editing. BB really has no shame ... I think that watching this episode made me madder than seeing how all of the nominations REALLY went down on Thursday (see my last post on Thursdays blog if you want to know what transpired). Knowing all of the controversy about them (BB) trying to help James, they even felt the need to piece together a DR clip of Natalie saying she left James and Adam in the HOH, when in reality, they CALLED HER TO THE DR so that James could continue to influence Adam without the interference of Natalie. Outrageous!
I do agree that the Team Christ stuff is way over the top and as I said last year with Jameka and Waaaamber, God has a lot more important things to worry about than who wins Big Brother. Of all the TC members, Natalie is the only real bible thumper. Ryan and Adam read the bible, but they don't seem very religious at all (Sheila even less so). I think they're just going along with crazy Natty with maybe a little thinking that "if God is on our side, even better!"
Although Adam made his decision based on him feeling sorry for James and also by being conned by the producers in the DR (his words, not mine), I'm still rooting for either him or Ryan to win it all. Natalie, as annoying as she can be, has played a good game and would be deserving as well IMHO.

k4lakers, I was just about to post what you said on Thursday. Of course TPTB edited all of their influence out of tonights program. However it is too late, cause we already know about(thanks to the live feeds). One of the reasons why the producers want James to stick around a bit longer or even win it, is because he makes good tv. I don't know why but thats what they think. James isn't like Evel Dick(by the way did you hear the music that they played when James was trying to make crazy James come out or should I say stupid looking James?....remicing of ED), he isn't like Janey Dr. Will and he isn't all that good looking. And Im getting sick and tired of seeing him in his underwear. Millions of people already seen his johnson and a lot of peole don't like him. So what makes him good tv? Somebody please tell me how and why?
Moving on, I was really hoping that Adam wouldn't fall for his tears. And I was also shocked that they were real. I can't believe he feel for it. But this is Adam we are talking about.
I agree about the childish pranks on Sheila. The flour bit, if that was me I wouldnt find it funny. Luckly it was just flour instead of who knows what. But she took it very good.
I think Natalie needs to come out with a line of her own knee high socks, she packed so many of them. I know I would buy some of them.
~~~~~Spoiler Alert~~~~
Some one already mentioned this(I think it was bobby j) but Ryan won the POV. He used it on Sheila and Adam replaced Sheila with who.........James. James and his pink hair and his girly panties are going home.
~~~~~End of Spoiler Alert

Hello ~
It's bad enough that the diary room interferes ~ But for them to have Nat say she thought she should leave ~ When they had called her away is really pathetic. I don't know if it is true at all but on the CBS BB message boards it says that the producers let it be known on purpose that they mess with things. ? How lovely that they like to piss off their viewers!
I think James was faking the tears. While I don't think it would be hard to do after being isolated with people you don't really like ~ I wouldn't be surprised if the diary room people suggested it to him after Adam got suckered by Josh's fake tears.
I don't really understand why they think James is so worth keeping around. Maybe they think it would make a good story ~ Homeless Guy Wins $500,000.00? What ~ are they planning to sponsor him in a bike trip around the world (country actually)?
Then again ~ I don't even know why but I still do like James a little!
And thank God Sheila didn't breathe in when she got doused with that flour. That could have been really scary choking on that.

I don't know which was worse, James' tears or the Team C stuff. I did have a little symphathy for James this episode though. He was taking all of the "attacks" personally and it really got to him. Does anyone know whether James has disclosed his porno past to anyone? If so, what was the reaction? I'll be glad when he's gone but still, I'll give him credit. He's a great player.
Adam is as amusing as he is weird and like Ryan said, by not nominating James, Adam has made 1 friend and 3 enemies. It'll be interesting to see if Ryan turns on him considering Ryan has talked final two with him, Nat and Sharon. Which one has Ryan's true loyalty?

Hello, everyone knows that BB plays games. Remember when they flew the plane last year over the house to say that Eric was a liar. I actually felt bad for James last night. It was he who went with Chelsia and left the original group. Its not that they do not like him, they just want him out. Now, this is a double eviction week so anything can go.. Its going to be James then who ever wins will take out Sharon then the real fun begins. Sharon likes to think she can win,but has not proved herself and Sheila is not even trying. That is her strategy, doing nothing. I loved Adams nomination speech, and I mentioned blogs ago, he was the one to watch. I hear his veto speech, even better.. Hang on, its going to be a wild ride.

Let's be clear here. In the past, Executive Producer Allison Grodner has adamantly denied that they influence the cast members decisions in ANY way. It's been very questionable in the past but now she has been proven to be a liar.
Where has it been stated that BB sent the banner plane last year outing Eric as a liar? Why would they do that? Eric was America's Player and they wanted to keep him in the game for as long as possible. If anything, I think it's safe to say he got extra help in sticking around, just as James did.
I know the HGs have speculated about a possible double eviction week, but has that been confirmed? I did notice that BB ended at the :54 min mark on my dvr last night and I stopped watching as the credits were rolling...

I'm a James fan - simply because of the underdog factor and the fact that the "power players" of the season have had only ONE game since James was voted back in -- to get James out.
Natalie and Ryan aren't really playing smart, stragegically. They are counting on all staying the same (Nat, prmarily)and we fans know, a LOT can change FAST in BB - I think this has been set in motion by Adam's making his own decision for nominations.
They are close enough to the end of the game to CONSIDER who they would be going head-to-head with for the $500k - I became extremely frustrated with Josh (a fan of his, as well) for not bringing this topic up with Ryan last week (Yes, I believe that last week was still close enough to the end to play this strategy).
Equal is my frustration with James at not using this card with Natalie. Even though she is playing a good game, lets not forget that she really is NOT the brightest color in the Crayola Jumbo Box, and she talks ALL of the TIME to EVERYONE - I think she could be swayed if he really tried.
***Spoiler alert***
James, true enough, has shown that he is a force with the competitions, but now that he is on the block without Veto opp, it's time for him to REALLY play the game and obtain a allies that will be useful to him THIS week. Promise, talk, lie do SOMETHING for yourself for crying out loud! If he doesn't pull that portion of game play off, maybe he doesn't deserve to stay.
I simply don't understand why anyone standing still in the game wouldn't be considering who the jury will be voting for - would any of them really want to go up against Sharon in the final two?? Come on, guys, all of you would have been better off going to the final two with anyone other than Sharon or a "single-mom-who-wants-a-better-life-for-her-son".....Up against either Josh or James, Natalie OR Ryan would have whistled their way to the cash!
This goes back to those power-players only playing the "get James out game". They are close to screwing themselves in the final two vote - no matter who goes to the final two - I don't think Ryan will be one of them - Adam is a contender - a strong one, at that, and no one will win against him either.
Geeez, what a bunch of morons left in the house.

Well, since the producers seem to like James, maybe they can pull something off and keep him in the house. I agree in that they need to think about final two and who is in the jury that will vote. I am sick of them targeting James every week. Natalie is a dimbulb who really needs to shut up and stop talking about Team Christ. She has to be the most intelligent person on BB ever. Which is saying a lot. She and her socks need to go!
