"We're not cold-blooded murderers. We're just trying to save our country." It's a tough week for doctrine of all kinds: AA more or less ditches the "anonymous" part, Logan's been getting up close and personal with Bible verses that meet his ends, and the radicals behind eliminating the president put their money where their collective mouth is. I didn't have Weasel No. 2 pegged as a believer up until now — I figured he was selling the "save our country" angle just to get Lennox on board. But, sweating like a whore in church and looking ready to heave-ho at any second, that smooth-operating bastard went through with it! I'm pretty sure his display of mercy towards his mentor/hostage will be his undoing, whether or not the president survives. I'm putting my money on Palmer the Younger pulling through this one, but I hope he's learned a valuable lesson — this is what happens without Aaron Pierce on your Secret Service detail.

Meanwhile, Jack's having a heyday in the meaningful-stare department. More awkward face-touching with Marilyn! Bitter contempt for the former President Logan! The chance to don a suit and tie! I wouldn't want to be that Russian consulate — nothing says "back in business and ready to torture" like a smart pair of cuff links. I also got a kick out of Jack telling Buchanan by phone that he'd debrief him later, and then promptly proceeded to debrief him then and there. Mostly, I just enjoyed the hell out of watching Jack and Logan take turns chewing the scenery — if there's one thing this week served to remind me of it, it's this: Gregory Itzin was robbed of an Emmy this year.

Episode fun facts:

— Morris' former AA sponsor is Bart Simpson! Good for you, Nancy Cartwright — way to make Kiefer & Co. scratch your back for getting them on your season finale come May.

— I couldn't help but dial Chloe's cell-phone number, since it wasn't a lame "555" fakeroo... unfortunately all I got was a recorded message en español, with the words "Nextel phone for 24" sprinkled in for good measure. If anybody got something different, I'd love to hear the gory details; I was hoping for a snippy voicemail greeting from Ms. O'Brian herself.

— Did you notice the code Reed used to detonate the bomb? 624 — as in, 24 Season 6. Clever.

Not a very good episode of 24. I expected a lot more from an episode with Gregory Itzin's return, but there was waaaaay too much of Morris and the boring alcoholic storyline and what felt like 30 uninterrupted minutes of following around Chad Lowe in the last half of the show. I'm trying to be patient with 24, but this season, after a fun start, is really leaving me cold. 24 has slumped before and gotten back on track; I hope they're able to get back on track this season, too, and as soon as possible.

WHERE IS ARRON PRICE AND MARTHA??!!! I'm sorry, but the show isn't the same without them.

If the writters are reading this, PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!! Does anyone else agree/disagree?

I liked the episode, although I do agree they spent a little too much time on poor Morris and Cloe berating him.

My burning question is - how did Jack get access to a suit that fit him so fast??? Did I miss something? Or, does he have it under his normal clothes. lilke Superman's outfit?;)

maryshine: Yes. I do agree. The Writers need to pick it up with something. Aaron would bring some good stuff to the table.

This Morris crap has to go! BORING, BORING! They kill off people like Tony and Michelle, but they keep Morris around? Give me a break!

Spoiler for people who don't watch the previews. Now it looks like Jack is going to pull a stunt with the Russians like he did with the Chinese. Can't you(the writers) come up with something new?

I guess now Jack will have to do some time in a Russian Prison?

LOL, I didn't even noticed what 624 meant! Shows how closely I watch. I'm surprise that Jack isn't having deja vu with the whole consulate thing! Be carefully Jack that you don't get framed for another friendly fire incident! I wish I worked for CTU cause my employer can't give me a perfectly fitting new expensive outfit within minutes

Does anybody know where the scene in Logan's stable was filmed? There was clearly a racetrack behind Jack as he walked in, and as a fan, I'm curious.

I'm guessing it might be a private racing stable or training track, not a betting track, with the stalls so close.

Nothing on IMDB about that.

I'd like to proudly say that I did notice the "624" code number. I can't prove it, of course, but I did!

It was a "quiet" episode this week--for this show, anyway--except for the bomb blast. I think Assad was killed saving Pres. Palmer, which, if true, would really gum up the works for Reed and his cohorts (I make it a point not to watch previews, so I could be wrong already).

I don't mind the Morris/Chloe story because I LOVE Chloe, of course, so I'll follow her anywhere (even if she wasn't looking so hot this season) and I do like Morris. C'mon, people, give the guy a break--he's trying his damnedest to contintue doing his part for CTU, despite the anguish he's going through--I'm sure this will play a part in the larger plot at some point. Even if it doesn't, I'll be rooting for him. The guilt he's feeling is heartbreaking.

SPOILER ALERT!

Aaron Pierce and Martha Logan will both be back this season. I can't recall where I read it, but it's happening!

I too am bored with the Morris/Chloe storyline (unless it's necessary to lead up to something else!)

The "Morris is an alcoholic" storyline is fast forward material. It is boring and it makes Chole's story this year boring.

What happened to Eric Balfour's character? Wasn't he a part of the action that was going on last week?

You say Gregory Itzen was robbed. I honestly believe that James Callis was robbed of the Emmy last year and this weeks "Battlestar" emphasized who really got robbed last year. Callis is capable of bringing the character out. Itzen's Logan spouts stupid lines. You don't need to read what the charater is going through - you get stupid quips from a really bad script this year.

I think DB Woodside is better than these scripts as well. He is taking a lot of hits from people and critics but the scripts this year are just boring. (Does anyone agree with me maybe Woodside was the wrong Whedonverse actor to go with as Palmer's brother - J. August Richards anyone????

Hopefully the show starts getting better soon. I really love this show but it is slowly becoming unsalvagable.

I don't know if I imagined it but I thought Pres. Logan looked at the picture of him and his wife a little bit funny/evil.

I'm wondering if he wants to escape to find Martha and get his revenge for her betrayal.

I don't believe his "I'm a changed man" baloney.

The Morris alcohol stuff was just dreadful, I don't know why they feel they need to have conflict within CTU at all times. So I'm supposed to believe that Nadia now spends all her time trying to catch Morris screwing up and not doing her own work?

At least the parts with Logan and the Palmer assassination attempt were mildly amusing.

I too called Chloe's phone number and got the same message. However, it's the same message I got when I tried to call Logan's number last week (in fact I think they were the same number).

Chloe is annoying this season - I liked her better when she didn't have a personal life!
