He's been a junkie, a Secret Service agent, a prisoner of the Chinese government and a dead man — and now, he's Jack Bauer: Ninja Garbage Man! Whatever your complaints about this season so far, you have to admit, there's nothing cooler than watching Jack take out a cadre of terrorists with his bare hands. (Just imagine how much faster that would have gone if only he'd had his trusty JackPack with him.) I'll even allow for the cheesy "say hello to your brother" as he strung up Fayed once and for all, simply on the merits of that rock 'em, sock 'em fight scene. The only things missing were a few classic "Pow! Zonk! Wham!" graphics, Batman style. And is it just me, or is it only a matter of time before we see that riding-on-the-axle-of-a-sanitation-truck conversation wind up as an ad for better cell-phone coverage? "Bill, it's Jack! Do you copy? You should, 'cause I've got The Network from Sprint."

This was also the episode for Great Big Bluffs — Jack and Doyle pulling a fast one over on Fayed, and President Palmer faking out Fake-istan (and his cabinet) with the threat of a nuclear strike. I think one might have had more impact without the other, but I'll take what I can get at this point. Evidence of Wayne Palmer's backbone is certainly a starting point — alongside a heartfelt speech to Lennox, the viewers and quite possibly the Cheers & Jeers section of TV Guide magazine: "I'm not David, Tom, and I never will be. But I am learning that who I am is not so bad." And then he looked right into the camera and flipped America the bird. C'mon, Wayne, show us what you've got.

Then there's the inevitable end-of-show shocker — and this one's a doozy. Audrey's alive! Not much of a surprise, but a hell of a direction for the last few hours of the season. So what do we think China wants in exchange for Audrey? Jack back in custody? Something to do with whatever they traded for him in the first place? Controlling interest in P.F. Chang's China Bistro? The possibilities are endless.

Glad to see that Jack is no longer a supporting character on his own show. And he even brought along a catchphrase...which he may have stolen from Bruce Willis in Die Hard 3.

But I digress, as seeing Jack kick ass and NOT take names is always fun. I remember reading about the fight scene in EW several weeks ago, so it's cool to see how it played out. Apparently, the actor who plays Fayed had to go to the hospital.

Forget Palmer II's backbone, how about Morris sticking up for Nadia during her nonsense with Milos? Couldn't Jack save one of his Ninja kicks for Milos' throat?

I thought for sure the Audrey storyline would be played out over season 7 (maybe it still will), but I guess they decided to do a mini-season within a season. It's as if they're trying to show Lost how it's done. :-p

Wasn't expecting this kind of twist. I was thinking as Jack was in the warehouse, "what ways are the producers going to come up with now so that these nukes slip out of their fingers?" Nice change of pace.

Best line of the show comes after Doyle surveys the jack carnage and says "...Damn Jack!"

Doozy of a show tonight! I know everyone, including myself, was ready to chalk this season up to some of the worst "24" in a while, but this episode 90% saved the season for me.

The suitcase nukes (or "snukes" for you "South Park" watchers) are found, Abu FatHead is strung up after a hand-to-hand with Jack (LOVED the look on both of their faces when they each realized their guns were outta ammo. Thanks to the writers for a fight and death that paid off), and Audrey is chillin' and whisperin' at a hollowed-out Chinese Wal-Mart, begging Jack to come save her. Now, THIS is the "24" I fell in love with!

Wayne's little ruse felt a bit forced, especially with Lennox's "Tommentary" : "So, [insert Arab country here]'s government WAS lying to us all along. Without your crazy, adrenaline-induced cajones, we would have been done for sure! Well done, Scooby...er, Mr. President!" Nothing like finishing 2nd in the Palmer Family Presidentialympics, ey, Wayne?

And, on the other Palm, Sandra's back with Wally? Ugh, USE her, writers! Please! I mean, I personally miss my favorite "24" blacktress: Penny Johnson Jerald! (R.I.P Sherry!) But, Regina King could be dynamite in this role, if she had something to play!

One last thing: IS LOGAN DEAD, OR WHAT?!?!? Geez, you'd think after all those camera shots of the highlightd Bible and "I'm a brand new man" singin', they'd give him a proper send-off. I mean, don't redeem a character just to flatline him in the back of an EMSA!

All in all, best episode of an uneven season. But, you gotta admit: "24" at its worst and most-recycled is better than most shows on right now. (October Road, anyone??? No? I didn't think so.)

keith2002 ~ You took the words right off my keyboard! Jack takes carnage to a whole new level. I can't wait to see what this really p***ed-off version of Jack does to the Chinese for kidnapping and hurting his girl, Audrey!

20-bore no more! Last night was the type of excitement that this show generated in prior seasons. I almost didn't watch last night, I'm glad I couldn't give up on Keifer!

Best line was, "Damn, Jack!" My thoughts exactly.

Milo is getting creepier with each episode...why?

Is Audrey the new Kim? This better be one heck of a story arc...because I was so over Audrey two seasons ago.

Didn't enjoy the President's fake bombing.

The fake out of Fayed was nice, but did they have to give him real bullets in the 9mm? When Fayed died, I figured they would find the suitcases empty of the nukes to keep the show going, but thank God they didn't drag it out.

I expected Audrey to show up, but not tonight.

I know people are asking about Logan, but let me remind you that Jack's dad is still out there and I think he'll come back soon and tie in to China somehow. Also, he left Jack the cell phone telling him to call Logan for help, so what's up with that?

"Damn Jack" - this one goes on the list of best "24" quotes of all time. So simple, yet so, right.
If nothing else happens this season, please, Jack, kill Cheng. Make it slow, make it painful, make it quick, just kill him! I want him gone.

Now this is the 24 I've come to know and love! It even gave me 2 great Bauerisms that I've been missing for the past month: "I haven't begun to have fun!" and "Let's have some fun!" or something like that.

I also read that article about the fight on EW, so it really was good to see it all played out, considering it took almost 2 days to shoot. Amazing.

Wasn't really suprised at the ending; I thought all along that Audrey was alive (since "The Nine" got cancelled) and that the Chinese had her. But was she being help in China or at the Chinese consolate?

Loved that Jack is back and in action! And Doyle's "Damn, Jack!" line was great, too. Welcome back, 24!

"Damn, Jack" was by far the best part of the show. Beyond that, it was a let down. Fayed killed six CTU agents. HA! Palmer is stll functioning on shots of adrenaline after coming out of a coma. HA HA! Now the Chinese have re-entered the picture with Audrey as a hostage. HA HA HA! This season has become a joke. Guess it's time to switch to Dancing With the Stars.

Best show of the season! I'm glad I didn't give up on Jack & Co. "Damn, Jack" was also my favorite line.

I think I'm the 8th person who has to give the "Damn, Jack!" line its props. Doyle and I said it at the same time! Welcome back, Agent Bauer!

I'm gonna guess Audrey is in LA because there aren't enough hours left to fly to China (or take a slow container ship).

Milo's acting like an ass. OK, so Nadia admits she kinda likes him too. Then he feels like he owns her? She can't even TALK to another guy? Control issues, anyone? And I don't think it was just because it was Doyle.

I totally called the fake nuke last week but they had me doubting myself last nite, right up until they said they didn't need to recover it. Although, wouldn't it make sense to recover it just so nobody knows it was a bluff? I'm just sayin...

"24" got a lot of its snap back tonight, although I haven't been complaining about it thus far.

The highlight for me was the fake-out collision. I did not see that coming.
Palmer's own fake-out seemed very risky. Is it really possible to abort a nuclear missle strike with a minute to spare?

I've been hearing hints that Audrey might not be dead, but it was still a surprise to see her--and a good idea to wrap up one storyline and have it spin in another direction.

But I don't understand why the Chinese are holding her. Did they really want Audrey all along, and bargain to exchange Jack for her?
That's okay, I don't want to know too much yet...

This was by far the best episode (so far) of the season! :-D

Nothing in this episode was a suprise except when Audrey would re-appear. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a complaint. The writers know we have seen it all before, so instead I feel we
are supposed to go along with the ride. I have pointed out before that a lot of staples of past seasons have been reversed this year. Such as Lennox turns from weasel to a stand up guy, it
turns out that there is no mole in CTU, the usual infighting at CTU for the most part is missing, the ambush while taking Fayed to CTU when he would usually escape was actually a ploy to find the nukes. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

As far as Logan is concerned this isn't the first time the fate of a character has been left in limbo. In season 4 the son of the terrorist family was turned over and never heard from again. From the commenteries and deleted scenes on the DVD set they filmed a scene resolving this, but cut for time. I will figure that Logan is dead unless he shows up later and figure that the
scene where someone told Bill ended up on the cutting room floor.
