It's THURSDAY...and oh yeah...Life was on last night :)

Before I left for work this morning, I was loading a few more dishes into the dishwasher so I could run it during the day (I'm sure there's some plumber out there who would like to tell me how dangerous that is, but it's already done.). Anyway, I tend to have a running dialog in my head of things I'm thinking about. I stopped mid-load and thought...IT'S Thursday!!!...which means Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and Supernatural!!! Typically, I'm excited that it's Thursday because I'm thatmuch closer to Friday and the weekend, but no...I'm thrilled it's Thursday because I get to watch my very favorite show Supernatural among others. Just thought I'd share the excitement of how these next hours of the work day could move along at rapid speed as far as I'm concerned.

And of course I have some bloggedy goodness on last night's episode of Life; one of the few shows I watch that was actually on last night. The CMA's preempted the ABC shows. Here goes...

Life:
So let's recap...Crews has an orange grove, a huge house with a fabulous view but no furniture, a rockin', rebuilt muscle car, undisclosed millions in the bank, and now...now he wants...a solar farm. Well ok. I'm hoping that one day we actually do get to find out what the undisclosed settlement amount was.

The crime of the week was a crime of passion disguised as a hate-crime murder/kidnapping. It was an interesting twist at the end. Teen angst is so high these days when all they really want is for their parents to care and love them. I have to admit that for a few minutes there I was very suspicious of the sister, but then when she was pulled in to play the video game and get them to level 10, I changed my opinion. That was a really awesome scene with everyone watching and the way the different views were edited. But, seriously, the computer tech who tried first...TMI...he's 30, lives with his mom, and has a Captain Kirk costume in his closet...perhaps there's something else in the closet, too.

In the end, I was very sad that they weren't able to keep the young boy alive so that he could get help, but then again, he was pointing a gun directly to the other guy's head at the time and about to turn and shoot Crews. My only question...does the mom who owns the gas stations not get any punishment? I mean I know the guy was helping her better invest her money...but was all of that on the up and up?

On a different front, we learned some new things about Dani Reese. Her father was a SWAT team leader, Jack Reese, who worked the LA bank robbery 15 years ago. In last week's previews, they had me considering the idea that Dani was the little girl that saw the murder Crews was sent to prison for. I was trying to figure out if she would be old/young enough at this point to have been that little girl. Instead, we learn that the Russian guy from a couple episodes ago meant Dani not his old partner when he told Crews to ask his partner about the robbery. Dani was 12 at the time of the robbery, and her mother was Persian who spoke Farsi whenever Dani's father wasn't in the house. I think there was a disconnect there. At the gas station, I thought Dani and Crews kept asking the daughter to translate for the mother, but then later, Dani started translating for her. Maybe I have that wrong, but I don't know. Anyway...it seems like somehow this bank robbery is connected with Crews's wrongful conviction. More questions than answers on the backstory this time around.

Finally, Ted...I LOVE TED!! And I especially love it when Adam Arkin gets lots of screen time. He's so adorable when he gets upset that he doesn't get to go out and play. He was all set to go see the Solar Farm for Crews when Crews told him that Olivia was coming by and that Ted needed to stay and open the door for her. So, he waits for Olivia and then just takes her with him to the farm...where they get stuck over night. Then we learn that Ted perhaps has a thing for Olivia because she makes him nervous. It was cute and I'm starting to think that Crews's father will not be marrying Olivia if Ted has anything to say about it. :)

One thing I did notice, Ted wears a wedding ring. Does anyone remember a backstory on that? I know that Ted was in prison for insider trading, but I don't know that we know much more than that about his past. I do know that he lives with Crews and we've never seen a wife hanging around Ted...a bit confusing.

Well that's all I got. A little less than 8 hours until Ugly Betty comes on. WOOHOO!!

Hi Leann,

I'm getting a bit frustrated by the little dribs and drabs we're getting on the case involving Crews' conviction. Yes, we did learn some interesting facts about Dani, but they need to start moving this along more quickly.

I was also confused by Dani suddenly conversing the Persion mother in Farsi. Why didn't she do it when they first met? Curious.

Last night's case was very interesting with a good twist at the end. And it was good to see Sarah Clarke (the traitorous Nina in 24) in a sympathetic role.

I don't remember anything about Ted having a wife. Maybe they just forgot to have Adam Arkin remove his wedding ring. The scenes between him and Olivia were fun. She is hot and it's understandable why she makes him so nervous.

Nice recap, Leann. Thanks.

Hi Leann!
Great recap on last night's Life. Reese was definitely holding back on her Farsi language skills at the beginning of the episode by allowing the daughter to do all of the translating for the mother. I wonder why.

The tech's line about living with his mom and having a Captain Kirk costume cracked me up.

To TPTB at Life: more Christina Hendricks (Olivia), please!

I'd bet she was thinking strategically there. What better way to find out how honest the family is being than to let them communicate amongst themselves without realizing someone understands everything they are saying...

I thought I was imagining the translation thing, but glad you all verified my thoughts. Pixie, that's a good reason why she held back. They spoke more freely thinking no one understood. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Sorry, shouting!!!

I just Googled Christina Hendricks and can't believe I didn't recognize her. She was Joan on Mad Men. I guess seeing her in a contemporary hair style and clothes was what fooled me. Anyway, I love her and would like to see her as a regular cast member (although I'm jealous as hell of that glorious bod).

I liked last night's episode. I don't mind the trickling of information about Charlie's false incarceration; otherwise, we don't have a show. Plus, it looks like next week (according to previews), Charlie's in the cross-hairs again.
Loved Ted's visit to the solar-array farm, especially the irony of their attempted departure (no gas, no cell reception). I'm glad he was able to tell Olivia that she made him nervous when so many other times the "nervous" man or woman simply stumbles and mumbles. What this all means when Charlie STILL hasn't made time to talk to her, let alone the father we still haven't met, who knows?
My only problem was the fact that it turned out Mary Ann Farmer (Sarah Clarke) and Amir were lovers (from what I could gather). I thought when Charlie was going on and on about the difference between Jeffrey and Amir was Mary Ann was the fact that she treated Amir more like a son than her biological son. I didn't quite understand how it jumped to a more "intimate" relationship. Oh, well.
With the writer's strike, I'm worried this show may not get picked up and we'll never know the whole story. How many times has this happened to other shows...<cough>...the Nine...<cough>).
Glad to see the ratings were up 630K, courtesy of Mr. Mitovich. Sort of wish there was an official TV Guide blog, but when no one there cares enough, we have to make our own. Thanks Leann!!

So......was Amir investing M A Farmer's money in legal ventures, or was it drugs? In which case why wasn't she hauled off to the gray bar hotel? I'm still kerfuffled over the end. Which I'd rather be with Life, than hit over the head with the obvious by Criminal(y) Mind(les)s.
