« Saving the World One TV Show At A Time
Life is GOOD
I am counting down the hours practically until I get to get on a plane to go south for Thanksgiving and see my nephew. Don't worry, I have a plan to keep my blog updated. My mother has a list of shows she is responsible for recording for me and I will commandeer my brother's TV as often as I can. And there's always watching episodes online. Besides, I don't get on a plane until Saturday, so this week will be pretty much taken care of. As for Life...
I loved Crews's first line of the show: "How come you only call me when someone's dead?". GREAT!
I want to get through the case of the week first so I can get to the backstory...Last night we dealt with an IRS agent who worked on tax evasion cases, was a polygamist who led two nearly completely different existences, and had his lower have vaporized by a gas oven. I have to say, he looked like half a mannequin at the crime scene. It was just odd. It was pretty hilarious when Dani and the Captain were appalled by how little furniture was in the victim's apartment asking "who lives like this?". Then we see Crews at home in his furniture-less house.
So Dani and Crews figured out that Farthingale discovered who the Freestate Bomber was and that was what got him killed. Farthingale was looking for someone who was not not following the law. I'm not sure there's another show on television where Crews repeating those statements over and over would actually work. It makes total sense on this show...anywhere else...not so much.
I loved how they figured it all out by going to the two widows' houses and figuring out what Farthingale had figured out. That was pretty impressive and I'm glad they tracked the guy down and arrested him. I like that Dani and Crews are working together better. I believe Dani is going to have to be a real help to Crews in order to figure out who framed him.
So...on to the backstory...Something I noticed tonight, the minute Ames was found dead in the parking deck, Crews was all of a sudden guilty of everything they thought he was guilty of 12 years ago and then some. That's some real loyalty there, guys. I loved when Crews drew the happy face and stuck it on his computer. I do that sometimes to remind myself to smile. It cracked me up when he actually smiled at it.
I think I kind of knew that Ted knew about the closet, but I don't know why or how I knew. I just did. I was very impressed with his loyalty to Crews. People keep telling him to get rid of Ted, but I think Ted is going to be the one person who will stick with him to the end.
I think we've learned that Crews was very DEEPLY set up. This wasn't one or two people involved. This was a whole pack of people, but we've got to figure out why. What did Crews know or what did people think he knew that got him framed for the murder 12 years ago? I think Ames was killed by whoever really killed the family because, technically, Crews needed Ames alive to get information from him. Then Dani's father, Jack Reese, shows up to pick her up for Ames's funeral and Crews realizes that he was the guy in the park with Ames at the beginning of the episode...and one of the last people to see him alive. Oh this is gonna be good.
DANG IT WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A WRITER'S STRIKE!! GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT PEOPLE!!
Thoughts?

Hi Leann,
The plot thickens, doesn't it. I wonder if Dani knows whether or not her father was involved in Crews' frame-up, and if it will affect her loyalty to him. I was happy to see Connie back, and giving Crews and Ted the heads-up from the D.A.'s office. And Ted, bless him, took down Crews' gallery in the locked room. Big sigh of relief there. I think you're right that this frame-up goes deep into the department. I just hope we get enough episodes to learn what it's all about.
The Farthingale case was a trip, wasn't it. I thought the corpse looked like a mannequin too. Solving the case through the two widows was very clever.
Thanks for the recap, Leann. I appreciate your conscientiousness. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family.

Hi leann
I love learning about the big setup and i just wish Life would focus more on it! I think the person who killed Aimes is part of the conspiracy... (possibly even Reese's dad)
But the fact that Crew was suspected for the murder got me thinking: what would happen if he actually did commit the murder?
I mean of course it would be wrong and he would most probobly go to jail, but society did this to him....i mean what would happen...I'm sure (as far as I know) Crews was a good cop and would never kill someone but life, jail, and society has changed him...so who's to say that he is guilty for this...(of course to an extent he is but society has done it to him...I dont know. it just got me thinking....
BTW I loved this episode and cant wait! 2 weeks without LIFE!!! and the preview looked so good! hopefully, it will be good for the shows ratings...

I loved how there was no question or argument about them asking questions and finally sitting in the chair to see what Farthingale saw. Maybe that's not uncommon police procedure but it sure is uncommon in police procedural television shows.
Great episode.

I loved this episode. It was a really unique plot, and I thought that the opening images were truly amazing.
I really don't think that Dani had any knowledge whatsoever of her father and his involvement (if there is any) in Cruse's incarceration. I do tend to believe that Ames must have been ready to come forward with his involvement in Cruse's frame-up and that is why he was killed. The immediate suspicion of Cruse by nearly everyone was mortifying though!
