Rod's Bubble-Related Wish Lists
Hi Blog Buddies!
Like a lot of other folks recently, I've cut back on the amount of original blogs I post (I can't believe my last blog was over a month ago). I've been working on a few things that I hope you'll find cool (coming soon), so I've turned mostly into a "lurker" here nowadays. I still read a lot of posts, but I admit that I've been pretty remiss in commenting and popping in and saying "hi" to my friends. This morning I got a little nostalgic and decided to "borrow" some time from my boss and post a new blog.
After reading Ausiello's bubble blog, I figured I would post my own personal hopes for our beloved bubble shows...
Shows I Desperately Want/Need Renewed:
-- Eli Stone (because it's actually one of the best new shows of the season)
-- How I Met Your Mother (because it rocks, most of the time)
Shows I Would Like Renewed:
-- Aliens in America (because it's actually quite funny)
-- Miss Guided (because ABC should pair this with Samantha Who and let it shine next season)
-- Moonlight (becuase there is a lot of SnOb crossover with this show, and I support their passion even though I don't watch the show)
-- October Road (because I only want to know who Sam's freakin' father is... this could be done in one episode, and then the show and the ridiculous airband could go on its way to the tv graveyard in the sky)
-- Reaper (because it has gotten so much better in its last few episodes)
-- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (because it deserves
-- The Unit (because cancelling decent shows about military personnel strikes me as disrespectful)
-- Women's Murder Club (because it does have potential, honestly)
Shows I Secretly Want To Go Away:
-- Big Shots (because too many good actors were wasted on this show)
-- Cane (because I want Nestor Carbonell back on Lost)
-- Cashmere Mafia (because Mirando Otto deserves so much better than this crap)
-- Cavemen (because ABC already renewed According to Jim, and that's punishment enough)
Shows I'm Indifferent About: -- Back to You -- Boston Legal -- Las Vegas -- Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- Men in Trees -- Life Is Wild -- New Amsterdam -- The New Adventures of Old Christine -- Shark
Thanking the TV God's for the Already-Announced Renewals of: -- Chuck -- Everybody Hates Chris -- Dirty Sexy Money -- Friday Night Lights (!!!!!) -- Gossip Girl -- Life -- Private Practice -- Pushing Daisies -- Samantha Who -- Supernatural (!!!!!)

Hi Rod! It's so nice to see you back and posting. I've really missed your blogs! I just hope your boss appreciates you the way we do!
I agree with your list pretty much. I'm indifferent about some of the shows on your "I'd like to see renewed list". I like (not Veronica Mars or FNL like, mind you) Aliens and Miss Guided; they're both shows I would watch if they weren't scheduled against any of my must-watch shows. I'd like to be able to watch Sarah Conner Chronicles, so I'd prefer it didn't go away.
But I'm thrilled about FNL's renewal. Now if only HIMYM would be renewed, I'd be all set! Now that Journeyman has gone off to the big time travel mechanism in the sky, HIMYM is the only show on Mondays that would make me cry if it went away. Yes, even more than Heroes!

Hey Rod, great to see you!
For someone who's cut back on your viewing, I see an awful lot of shows up there. I'm enjoying most of the shows on your list of keepers, but after being disappointed year after year by surprise cancellations I've hardened my heart to all but two shows - Bones and Friday Night Lights. And since they're both coming back next year, I'm good for now.

Megan! I believe they renewed Bones along with House in February. Let me find the article I read and I'll send you the link.

Hi Rod --
Here are the shows that I would like to see come back:
Sarah Connor Chronicles -- it might not have always blown me away but by the time the 9 episode season came to an end I was intrigued by the story lines and invested in the characters. I want know what is going to happen next!
Eli Stone -- Unique, quirky often bitter sweet and funny, Eli Stone is better then almost all of the mid-season replacements and very much deserving of having a second go around.
Reaper -- I gave up on this show half way through and then checked out again on line when the new demon characters were added -- all of a sudden I found myself liking this show all over again and want to see more.
Aliens in America -- one of the funniest shows I've ever watched about relationships and perceptions of people. It pains me that it hasn't been able to find an audience.
Men In Trees -- if for no other reason then for ABC to stopped screwing with this show and give it one ounce the love that it has given other shows like According to Jim (someone please tell me why this one is coming back for another season?).

Really, Kath? I didn't think they had renewed either of them, but the fact that they hadn't renewed House yet either was making me feel better about Bones fate. I just assumed they were waiting for upfronts next month. I hope you are right.

I've missed you Rod and boy have I missed your blogs! I have to leave in a minute, so I can't elaborate on everything, but this Cavemen (because ABC already renewed According to Jim, and that's punishment enough) was too funny!!!
It's good to see you blogging - no matter how infrequent!
See everyone after my siesta!

Hi Rod! I don't watch any of the bubble shows. Mine are Bones, Supernatural ( ), Lost, Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs, Monk, Psych, and Army Wives all of which I believe have already been renewed. But I would appreciate that confirmation on Bones, Kath!
Anyway, since I don't watch the bubbles I just had to come in and say "hi" to you, Rod! It's great to "see" you out and about again!
And excuse me while I add: HI VEE!!!

Here it is, Megan. It's not from Fox, but it is from Hart Hanson and I've seen David mention it in several interviews.

Hi Rod!
I'm enjoying Eli Stone too. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for that one.
I tried Reaper but ended up giving up on it. Since you stuck it out and feel it's improved, I'll give it another try!
I'm really enjoying New Amsterdam and would sure like to see that one renewed.
Boston Legal has it's ups and downs, but it's still highly entertaining most of the time so I'd like to see it back.

Hi Rod,
Yes, it has been over a month since your last blog! I'm glad you noticed, and you have been missed. Thanks for supporting us Moonlight fans. It's the show I'm most anxious about. Alex O'Laughlin is my Samantha Ferris. You should check it out yourself, though--I think you would like it. Jason Dohring (Logan on Veronica Mars) is in the cast, and we're hoping to see more of him in future episodes.
Eli Stone and New Amsterdam are next on my list of shows I really want renewed.
It makes me sad that there doesn't look to be a lot of hope for Reaper. The last couple of episodes have been great, especially with the addition of the gay demon couple and the new (finally!) assertiveness of Sam.
I agree with you on Nestor Carbonell. I never watched Cane (thank goodness!) and would love to see him back as a regular on Lost.
Thanking the TV God's for the Already-Announced Renewals of: -- Chuck -- Everybody Hates Chris -- Friday Night Lights (!!!!!) -- Life -- Private Practice -- Pushing Daisies -- Samantha Who -- Supernatural (!!!!!)
Dirty, Sexy Money and Gossip Girl are the only two that I deleted from your list.
It's great to have you around again, Rod.

Hey ROD!
I really have to agree with you on Eli Stone. It has reached "must see TV" status for me and I have really been looking forward to this evenings finale. Very seldom do shows make you laugh, cry and really feel for it's characters like Eli Stone does! This show really needs to return!
And yes I HAVE to know who the heck is Sams father!

I agree completely with everything you say except one thing, Rod. I would really like to see The New Adventures of Old Christine back. It is an excellent, consistently funny show that is not afraid to step outside the box.
I especially agree with these:
