Anybody Catch Breaking Bad Last Night? Plus Some Friendly Reminders
Hi, all!
Did anybody else catch the premiere of Breaking Bad last night on AMC? I tuned in and I thought it was pretty good. I didn't think it was "amazing" or "the best show ever" or anything like that, but I thought it was definitely worth watching and also worth sticking around for to see where the story goes.
I could have done with less tighty-whitey shots, but maybe that's just me. What did other folks think?
A FEW FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
• 5 days until the return of Torchwood (Saturday 01/26, 9:00 PM, BBCA)
• 10 days until the return of Supernatural!! (Thursday 01/31, 9:00 PM, CW)
• 10 days until the return of Lost (Thursday 01/31, 9:00 PM, ABC)
• I think Rev is still accepting nominations for the Fall Blogger's Choice Awards here.
• The petition to tell Dawn Ostroff how much she sucks bring back Supernatural to the CW schedule is here.
• Anyone jumping on board HBO's new 5-night-a-week series In Treatment? It looks like it's worth checking out. It starts next Monday (Jan 28, 9:30 PM, HB0).
• The last two fresh episodes of Chuck are airing this Thursday on NBC, 8:00 and 10:00; before and after the show that makes me weep for the future of tv Celebrity Apprentice.
ON A SERIOUS NOTE:
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day, everyone. Hopefully your employers are much more respectful of the holiday than mine and granted you the day off.

Hey Rod!
I did catch Breaking Bad - interesting and original but not yet what I would call "must see"! I'll stick with it - what else is out there!
As for LOST - just wanted to let everyone know that last seasons two hour finale is replaying on Wednesday Jan 30th. I plan on rewatching it, too much happened, and I need a refresher!
Also, the new show ELI STONE will be premiering after LOST. Looks kind of quirky but I have to give it a try!
One other note - DO NOT FORGET THE PREMIER OF JERICHO on Feb 12th!

I'm not off either, rod. I missed that show on AMC, if I remember, I'll try to catch one of the reruns this week.
You forgot to mention there's a new Kyle XY tonight.

Hi Rod,
I have a reminder set for this weekend to watch a rerun of the Breaking Bad pilot. It doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but I'll check it out. In Treatment sounds more interesting to me, so I'll definitely be checking that out.
Thanks to you and Ranger for the reminders.
It's unfortunate all employers aren't respecting the holiday today.

Hi Rod --
I've got Breaking Bad waiting in the Tivo. And as a general rule of thumb...I can do without just about all tighty-whitey shots on any human being! Let's face it...it just isn't a real attractive look on anyone -- regardless of external physical appearance.
You mean there isn't a petition out there to tell Dawn Ostroff she sucks!! Wow...there whet the wind out of my sails today!

Hi there Rod!
I did catch Breaking Bad last night. And by catch I do mean catch. I was channel surfing and caught the last 15 minutes. I liked it so I had to wait to catch the reshow about an hour later. I think I'll stick with it too.

Hi Rod: I am not off work either. I guess there are more of us out there than we realize. I didn't catch Breaking Bad. Thanks for the dates for Supernatural and Lost. I hate that they are up against each other. Fortunately, I can watch one show and have the other on the dvr. Kathy

Thank you Rod for the reminders. I also caught Breaking Bad, I thought it was good, and since there is nothing else on besides The Wire, I'll stick with it. And I agree, less tighty-whiteys.
Back to the reminders, I can not waite for Lost to return next week. Im rewatching s3 on DVD, and I will be watching recap the day before.
Thank you Ranger for the Jerico reminder, I put that show on my calendar a few weeks ago, and I totally forgotten about it.
Im glad Chuck is coming back.
I might watch Eli Stone, but like I said earlier since there is nothing on Ill give it try.

Thanks for the reminders, Rod.
I didn't watch Breaking Bad, but I did watch Mad Men afterwards. I didn't love the first episode, but I liked it a lot, so I'm going to stick with it for now.
I can't wait to see Chuck and I have to admit that I am going to watch Celebrity Apprentice this week. Don't freak out yet, it is only because David Hyde Pierce is supposed to make an appearance.

Hi Rod!
I did watch Breaking Bad and loved the premiere. Before it aired, I had serious doubts that that they could make a program that would have me caring about a meth lab and the guys who operate it. By the end of the show, Bryan Cranston had done it in spades!
For those who haven't seen it and still want to, I'll refrain from any more details except to say that Cranston's family is great. How could I not care what is going to happen to them?!! (I haven't yet learned names. Sorry.)
The tighty whitey issue isn't much of an issue for me. I typically agree with all of you that less of that would be fine but somehow Cranston pulls it off. By that, I mean he makes them fit in those scenes. By that, I mean they work for him. Now, if he had disrobed down to a speedo... Well. I don't even like to think about it!
If the show can maintain the caliber of it's premiere episode, then I'm in for the duration.
Thanks.

Thanks for all those wonderful reminders Rod. I don't have cable (yes, I live in a cave) so I didn't see Breaking Bad.
Megan, you had me VERY worried.
