I’M B-A-A-A-C-K!!! AI, HK, DWTS

featuredpost.jpg
Hey everyone! I’ve missed you!!! I’d hoped to be back in the saddle by now rarin’ to go but unfortunately, I was much more ill than we realized and I had to have the “rough” gallbladder surgery instead of the laproscopic so I’ve got about 4 weeks of recuperation to go through.

The good news? We caught it before it became critical. I got out of the hospital super fast and am healing quickly. I WILL be at my son’s wedding on Saturday and I get to come back and see all of you.

I still tire easily so I probably won’t get to personally respond to everything or drop by other blogs just yet. I was too tired to individually blog all the shows last night but I did watch them and wanted to make some quick comments.

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes!

***

Today’s blog will be bullet points. My illness gave me time to sit back and think about my shows so I have some thoughts.

AMERICAN IDOL

I THINK….

Randy and Paula are useless as judges. Have you noticed how Randy will TRY to say something critical then wait until Simon goes all “pit bull” and then yell comments from the far end of the table that he was afraid to make earlier?

Randy and Paula are part of the grand circus that is American Idol and their chemistry with Simon helps make the show.

Syesha is a star. She’s not going to be the American Idol. She’s going to be better.

David Archuleta is going to walk with the title if David Cook pulls another lazy night like he did last night.

Jason Castro is only so cute. Do you know how hard it is to laugh with a mess of big staples in your gut? I laughed so hard last night during Mr. Bojangles I hurt myself.

***

HELL’S KITCHEN

Okay. Enough with the “theme” shows. I’ve had enough family night and sweet sixteens. Let’s get back to the nitty gritty.

I don’t like ANYONE in the cast this time out.

I don’t believe ANYONE will win the designated prize for this season. (Ramsay would have to be insane.)

The editing this time is so bad that I still don’t know some of the contestants. The lady who went home last night? I didn’t even remember she was on the show.

Cut the rewards. I don’t care anything about seeing guys stuff themselves into go karts. Let’s get a little more Top Chef next season.

I still really like Gordon Ramsay.

What on earth did our local St. Louis area girl, Christina, do to these other women? They aren’t showing it on tape.

***

DANCING WITH THE STARS

I really like the Trio of Annoyance. I even like them when Bruno and Len get into it on occasion. Actually, I like them even more when they spar a bit. There seems to be a casual, dysfunctional family thing going on there that isn’t as toxic as American Idol’s group. But not one person on this group is afraid to speak his/her mind and their judges’ marks are usually pretty close.

I still feel like this batch of dancers didn’t live up to the last two seasons and that ABC should have held off on this show until summer or fall with better casting.

Watching clips last night just showed how improved the show has become. The first few dances from the first two seasons were pitiful compared to what we see now.

I was really expecting more last night than what we got.

Mario going home was not a surprise. Marissa will go next.

Since Kristi fell from grace this week I once again feel that she might have a chance to win because now the audience sees her as vulnerable so they’ll vote for her.

***

And them’s my thoughts. I’ll try to check back during the day. See you all tomorrow with thoughts on tonight’s AI.

Welcome back, Vickie! I'm glad that they scheduled your surgery before it got too nasty in there, although I'm sorry to hear you were no longer eligible for the laparoscopic!! Heal fast, okay?

Oh and as someone who survived a cholecystectomy (or gall bladder removal), let me offer one word of advice: be very careful about what you eat the next week or so. Light, low-fat foods are definitely, definitely, definitely the way to go! (I ate a lot of jello, broth, and saltines for days after mine.) It's a shame you won't be able to eat anything at your son's wedding, but maybe they can save you a piece of cake to have in about a month!

so good to have you back VickieJean.

I think Randy is mean to Syesha.

Hi Vickie! I'm sorry you had to have the rough surgerty, but I'm glad you're healing fast! :-x

David C. is my favorite, but I think Sayesha outshined the guys last night. Wasn't that dress she wore in the second performance beautiful? Wow!

I think Jason needs to go home tonight.

So good to see you Miss Vickie! Laughter is dangerous to your health right now, so please be careful.

Jason - Please send him back to the kegger he so desperately misses.

Cook - I liked his sexy Who song. Like Poola, I want more of that.

Syesha - Way to go, Syesha! Knock their socks off one more week!

Archy - He sang beautifully last night, but he doesn't have the depth yet. But as I said on Darclyt's blog - Who knows, he might be the next male Miley Cyrus and become a child star gazillionaire.

I miss Michael Johns.:-x

Glad you're feeling better. I went through the rough gallbladder surgery, too,so I know how that is. Do be careful about what you eat for a while.

As for DWTS,I think Marissa should have already been gone. Next week will definitely be her week to go. Even though I think Kristi will win it all, gotta give kudos to Cristian for his courage & guts in continuing and bravo to Cheryl for their great choregraphy!

Welcome back! I was worried when we didn't hear anything. Sorry you had to go the rough route and especially so close to the wedding. Please take it easy this weekend. We miss you when your not here!

I really didn't want to see Mario go last night but I'm glad Marissa was safe. She is improving every week. I really thought that Christian was overscored on his second dance of the night and he should have gone home.

I agree with you that Hell's Kitchen doesn't need to show us the rewards when apparently there is drama on the teams. I have no idea why the women feel the way they do about each other. I vaguely remember seeing Shayna before and now she's gone. How can we invest in these people if we don't know anything about them?

First time watching an Idol performance show this season and I have to say I was disappointed. Syesha and David A did well but the other two didn't look like final 4 material to me. Their song choices were really bad when you consider how many songs they had to choose from.

WELCOME BACK VICKIE JEAN - and I wish I knew how to put on some of those great GET WELL graphics used above. How neat. Anyway missed you lots and started getting worried - even asked Ranger on another post whether he'd heard anything about you - and if you check your LAST blog you'll see how many of us kept coming back for news. Suffice it to say I'm GLAD you're over the hump - will be at your son's wedding - sorry it wasn't as easy as hoped - but GLAD you're B-A-C-K and look forward to your feeling super SOONER than LATER!

Couple of quick (from me??) points - I'm glad Marissa made it this far - LOVE her - such a personality/trouper - but I'm sure she'll go this time. Liked Christian a LOT but am HOPING it'll be Kristi. I voted 5 times.

AI - Surprised myself by TRYING to vote for Syesha AND David A - got thru with ONE for him - couldn't get thru for her 2 hours later so maybe they'll be the surprise duo? Jason, sweeet, cute, weak voice, will do better elsewhere. David Cook has been disappointing me.

MUCH LUCK AND LOVE GAL. If wishes speed the recovery, know you've got all of ours!!

Welcome back Vickie!!!! Sounds like you had a rough time of it- glad it's all easy rolling downhill from here. We missed your insights last week after the surprising/exciting/actual playing of the idol on Survivor!! Hope you got to watch it-

Last night was the first time this season I have tuned in to American Idol- these are the final 4 people? Wow, must have been a really mediocre bunch this year- I was pretty underwhelmed. Of the 4, I thought the 12 year old (okay, he's older than that but he looks 12) was far and away the most talented one of the group. The gal was good on the last song, but she seems better suited for musical theatre- she can really project. The rocker dude- well, the last song was better, but his voice seemed less-than-stunning. And what is with dreadhead??? No talent- how in the world did he end up in the final 4??? Is this a vote-for-the-worst casualty? I'm sort of sorry I tuned in!!

Feel better, rest up, eat well, don't laugh, and hope to see you on Friday for a Survivor recap!

Hi Vickie Jean:

SO glad you're back!!!!! We missed you so much. Thank you God, for an answered prayer. Take it easy and enjoy Jeremy's wedding this weekend.

I think your bullet points are spot on. David C. seemed off last night and Jason must really want to go home badly. I do hope that we don't get any nasty surprises tonight.

As for Hell's Kitchen, the 16 year old and her mom were annoying. I'm with you. Enough with the "theme nights".

As for DWTS, I'm surprised that Marissa's still here. But, I'm sure Mario has alot going on. He's working on a new music video, so he's fine. I do hope that Kristi wins.

Take care, Vickie Jean. Rest, take care of yourself and even if you write a one-sentence blog, I'll look forward to reading it.

Also, congrats on the Red Star.

Just remembered something I didn't post - did anyone else notice Rascal Flats in the audience of AI? Since they're separate networks I wonder if their studios are miraculously close so that it was HERE in the audience, and then on DWTS on stage. First time I've noticed something like that. OR was I WRONG about the audience on American Idol? Sometimes these things seem to be blending together but I'm almost sure. Anybody???? Did I confuse Rascal Flats with someone else - and forgive me - didn't know WHO that was so if they're known by the "group" name or whether that's the main guys name I have no idea whatsoever.
