Big Brother Live: “Blow this house up!”

Someone should.

***

Julie Chen is now trying to hide her big, clunky jewelry fetish. She wore long sleeves last night but I could still see big bracelets on both arms.

At least there was no strange necklace this time which was really noticeable since she wore a dramatically low cut sweater which appeared to show the top of her bra. I realize it was probably a lace insert of some sort but it looked like underwear peeking out to me.

***

I’ve been hearing stories about Chelsia for some time and they’ve not been good. Some of my friends here who watch BBAD on Showtime or keep up with the live feeds and gossip on Jokersupdates.com and hamsterwatch.com have filled me in on some things she’s pulled. Last night, CBS finally let us see her in action.

They didn’t show the worst that I’ve heard about her, but what they did show was troubling. It was almost as if she’d had some sort of meltdown. She KNEW she was going home and because of that she didn’t bother to play the game. She wanted to go out with a bang instead.

***

Chelsia realized that her bond with James had made her a target. She laid on her bed and cried while James tried to console her but it was no use.

She was soon in the Diary Room trashing Sharon and Natalie. In fact, she seemed to have a particular hate for Nat calling her uneducated and annoying.

Later, she sat in the kitchen and watched as Natalie, an artist, colored eggs in honor of Easter and painted some of them, including one which was a “Beaver State” special. The longer she sat on the stool, the more antsy Chelsia got. Finally, she grabbed an egg and just threw it.

Just like that. She looked like a two-year-old having a tantrum. “If I’m going out, I’m going out with a bang!”

I found a new respect for Natalie last night. She refused to take Chelsia's bait. She refused to fight. She left the room and started praying. Sharon went to her bed and read her Bible. Even Shelia stayed out of it but commented that Chelsia had a cruelty in her that she’d never seen in anyone else.

Perhaps driven over the edge by not having the effect she wanted, Chelsia seemed to completely melt down. She put her hands into the bowl of eggs and mangled them while James and Josh watched from the kitchen and Ryan and Adam watched from the HOH bedroom. No one seemed to want to have anything to do with her.

Not even James. He told the DR that he was voting against her because she was now hurting his game.

***

I was time for the live interview with the Houseguests. Julie asked Adam if he liked strained peas or pureed pears the best (referring to his basket of baby food.) He likes the pears.

Julie teased Shelia about her crush on ED. Shelia said she had a new appreciation of ED's fits now that she'd lived in the house herself for so long.

Julie asked Nat how she was doing without Matt. Natalie told her she was fine, that it was easier to play the game without him but that he was still on her mind.

Julie then asked Nat how many letters were in Matt’s last name. Nat counted and then smiled. The answer was 8, which played into her theory about all the “8s” in the house.

***

Adam was profiled then by his mother (and I think his brother?) They talked about how kind and loving he was and how much charity work he did. One of them referred to him as harmless. His mother said that he remembered everything he was told and his brother called him extremely intelligent.

***

Back on tape, Chelsia was still attempting to terrorize the house. Josh mentioned that she was showing her dark side. James called her the S.S. Titanic and said that she was sinking and taking him with her.

***

Live again, Julie interviewed Adam who said that he thought Shelia had his back and said that he had never intended to put her on the block. He just enjoys messing with her. He also said that had he known that the mystery guest was Alex, he’d have voted him back into the house.

And yes, he is worried about James getting Power of Veto.

***

It was finally time for the eviction and Chelsia appeared to be having a breakdown on live television. She was giggling and telling people off. She seemed out of control to me at times.

The vote was 5 to 0 (yes, James voted to evict) and she stood up to leave, waving everyone back down on the couch. Like Matt before her, she didn’t want the fake hugs and kisses. Instead, she used her short time telling Adam to get a backbone because he was playing like a baby and told Natalie to educate herself. Then she hugged and whispered into Josh’s ear. She and James kissed several times and she went back for a last hug before walking to the door and saying,

“Blow this house up!”

“Real mature,” Shelia said.

***

If I’d been Julie, I would have been really worried about having her on the air live but she seemed to relish the opportunity to get the show more ratings. What would get them more attention than a person going nuclear on the air?

Chelsia was in tears but she was also giggling as she walked over for the interview.

Now I rag on Julie for not asking tough, relevant questions but she was quick on her feet last night. She asked Chelsia about her behavior at the elimination ceremony and after the vote.

Julie wanted to know what she had whispered to Josh. Chelsia said that he psyches himself out before challenges and she was trying to get him to relax so he could win.

Julie asked her about her speeches to the other House Guests BEFORE the vote. Didn’t she want to win? Chelsia said that she’d tried talking to people to save herself and knew there was no chance.

Did she throw in the towel and quit? Chelsia said no. She also admitted that she didn’t like Natalie and that she’d made a mistake playing with her heart instead of her head. She knew that she should have voted the mystery guest into the house and not James.

When they played the goodbye tapes and Natalie said she was praying for her, Chelsia sarcastically mouthed “thank you” then crossed herself. She cried when they played James’ tape.

***

It was time for the HOH competition and it was going to be vital that James not win this for the Ryan/Shelia/Adam/Natalie alliance. The viewers had been allowed to answer questions on the website and the group was blindfolded, lined up and were then asked to guess at what the fans said.

After each correct question, the person would move forward. Miss and stay put.

Who was more likely to re-carve Mount Rushmore with only his/her head, Shelia or Josh. The answer was Josh. (Shelia and James got it wrong.)

Who was more likely to give their winning money to charity, Shelia or Adam? The answer was Adam. (Sharon and Ryan got it wrong.)

Who would lock him/herself out of the White House, Adam or Shelia? The answer was Adam. (James and Josh got it wrong.)

Who would have the more interesting biography, James or Shelia?
The answer was James. (Shelia and Sharon got it wrong.)

Who would they prefer to lead them into battle, Ryan or James? The answer was James (I would have gotten that wrong.) (Sharon and James were wrong.)

Who would give a more inspiring speech, Natalie or Josh?
The answer was Natalie (Josh and Ryan got it wrong.)

Who would stop a motorcade to let a squirrel cross the road, Natalie or Sharon? The answer was Sharon. (James, Shelia and Natalie got it wrong.)

And the game was over and NATALIE WON! I was thrilled. This should make for a very interesting week at the house!

Who will she put up? My guess would be James and Josh (since we know she thinks he’s dangerous.)

I'm glad they didn't show much of what Chelsia did as it really wouldn't serve any purpose other than make her life after BB much harder.

Oh, and Chelsia told James and Josh to blow the house up. One of the funniest things that she said on her way out was to Sheila. After she told Adam to get a backbone, she said that Sheila "had been rode hard and put away wet." Classic.

I LOVED her 2 exits speeches. I guess I'm just sick and twisted that way.

I'll have a hard time watching this week with Nat winning HOH. I won't be able to stomach how it was "God's Will" that she won.

I'm interested to know what Chelsia did. She probably thought if she acted crazy, she'd be safe like the time ED was acting crazy to try to save Danielle and ended up staying after that.

Chelsia was just bizarre last night. I can take someone saying what's really on their mind when they see that they're eliminated but she wasn't even making any sense. What I heard was just juvenile drivel. It's not like there was any strategic (or even entertainment) value to it. Just bizarre.

Have you ever noticed how people on these shows trumpet their honesty and the value of their word and then act in complete contradiction of their proclamation? (And of course they then justify their actions with lame reasoning like James did)

Well a variation of that theme was Chelsia in this episode. Her proclamation that she was walking out with her dignity when there was absolutely no way her actions could even be remotely described as dignified was ridiculous. And her post-eviction interview session only served to reinforce the notion that she was just a classless jerk. What a shame.

I'm glad for Natalie that she won HOH because now it means she can continue her crusade to "avenge her Matty". I've not necessarily been a big Natalie fan but I was impressed by the way she refused to be drawn into Chelsia's den of insanity. She doesn't strike me as the smartest person in the house but she has made some perceptive observations over the past few episodes. Except for perceiving how to spell, of course.

Keep up the great work with all your blogging, Miss Vickie. I agree with you and would be surprised if Natalie didn't put up James and Joshuah this week.

Vickie ~ If I was Julie last night I would have been really nervous with Chelsia on live tv! Or even when they are all sitting there.

I think it's kind of strange how Chelsia never seemed to get mad at James. ?

I think Sheila was pretty upset about that comment. Does anyone know why she attacked Sheila like that? And I'm sorry but I seriously doubt that Chelsia at the rate she is going on the Skank~O~Meter is going to be any better off than Sheila by the time she gets to be 45.

I wish we could have seen Chelsia's reaction to Nat winning HOH!(I know they don't get to see but it would have been funny.) And I am so surprised she didn't tell Nat all the things she would be planning to do with Matt once inside the sequester house. She must have forgotten ~ I guess you can only get so many nasty comments in during your "few minutes" to say goodbye.

I thought the HOH comp was kind of weird. Red and blue stockings on their arms? Bizarre.

On the other blog someone said what if James and Josh get nominated and then if one of them won the veto and used it on the other ~ They would both be safe. Genius ~ I hope they don't think of that!

Thanks Vickie ~ I have no idea how you keep up with all your blogs ~ But you do a fantastic job! This place would not be the same without you!

TVGUIDE ~ SEND A CHECK (or 2 or 3...) ALREADY!

Ugh. That's all I have to say. I wasn't surprised at the eviction, but I was surprised at Nat winning HOH. But maybe she just wanted it that much more. I am not looking forward to hearing her all week long go on and on and on... I don't have a problem with "her side" I just have a problem with her. It just sucks that my favourites are on different "sides", but that always seems to happen to me.

I am curious now as to what Dick said to the houseguests when he was there. Someone mentioned before that he called someone a name, and someone falsely thought he liked them...?

Hey Vickie - Great recap!

I left a comment on Darcelite's blog about Chelsea's "going out with a bang" speaches......WHY didn't any of them have a come-back?! I had a TON of them, but I guess there would have been no way to pop them in as she was blurting them out... in a VERY nervous shaky way.

Her melt-down over the eggs... well that was just odd. She didn't have to stand there while Nat was just talking and talking and talking... walk away... go take a Midol or Pamprin or whatever PMS medication will work.

Snaps to James for just coldly voting her out!

One last thought: I HOPE Nat took into consideration the whole ear-whisper thing that Chel had going on with Josh.

Great blog Vickie!

Well I gained a WHOLE BUNCH of repect for Natalie last night. Don't get me wrong - I might go nuts if I were trapped in a house with her for weeks but she was truly a class act last night and really deserved to win HOH. I am sure that she will put up James and Josh, hopefully Ryan wont try to campaign for Josh - it might really look bad to do so!

I would be so embarassed if I were Chelsea and would have to go back and watch her meltdown. That was a truly pathetic display, and I understand that we saw very little of it! Heck - I was embarassed for Chelsea and I hate the chick!

On the other blog someone said what if James and Josh get nominated and then if one of them won the veto and used it on the other ~ They would both be safe. Genius ~ I hope they don't think of that!

How do you figure? If James won the power of Veto - it would be up to Natalie to put someone else up, and I don't see how Josh would be safe? Can you explain this to me?

I wondered that too Ranger, just thought I'd missed something, somewhere along the line??<img border=">

You guys are right. It only works if you aren't already on the block. Sorry ~ Got a little carried away! It sounded right to me at first but then Dick saved Daniele last season and he was still on the block.

:O;)

Hi Vickie!

Last night was a great show! Did you notice Chelsia's face when she was about to smash the eggs? She looked like she was losing her mind! Then when she was putting the puzzle together she looked nuts. Cabin fever maybe? I don't know, but it was weird.

Her speeches just showed how imature she is. She still has some growing up to do.

I gained a new respect for Natalie last night too. She did the right thing by avoiding Chelsia and not going down to her level.

On the other blog someone said what if James and Josh get nominated and then if one of them won the veto and used it on the other ~ They would both be safe. Genius ~ I hope they don't think of that!

I don't think that would work. If one of them won the POV and used it on the other one then the one who won would still be on the block. Didn't that happen last year with Dick and Danielle? He won the POV and gave it to Danielle, but he was still on the block. I think that was the week Dustin was sent home. Am I right? Someone help me out here...

Morning Vickie!

Ugh. I'm so glad I'm going on vacation and won't be able to watch next week; I don't think I can handle a week of "God ordained me to win this game", in-power Natalie. Believe me, they may have showed Nat being "classy" last night by not responding to Chelsia's (drunken, by the way) rage, but she has responded plenty and she's just as obscene and classless as Chelsia- she just says most of it behind Chelsia's back. She has this obsession with Chelsia's genitalia...and that's as far as I go with that! And praying for someone's misfortune, praying that God will teach them a lesson by destroying their life, praying that harm will come to them to justify how "good" you are and how much you dislike them- that isn't Christianity nor is it "praying for someone"!

So....long story still long, I won't be watching Nat's Reign of Prayer this week! I'm going to go enjoy the sun and the warmth and check in next week when it's all over!

Hi Vickiejean:

Thank you again for another great blog. And yes, TV Guide owes you alot of money. You are so great.

Poor Chelsia has alot to live down. It might've seemed cute to say and do the things that she did. But, I'm sure alot of it will bite her in the butt later on in life. And at least I give her props for being wary of James as a life-long love match. James may care for Chelsia, but he's not that in love with her. He didn't use the POV on her and he didn't even give her a sympathy vote. What a guy!!!!

I'm also glad that Nat won HOH. She may not be the smartest person, book-wise, but she does possess some street smarts. I'm also agreeing that James and Josh will be put up for elimination. I'm also giving Nat props for not reacting to Chelsia's rants. It could've gotten really ugly, because Chelsia was way out of control.

Thanks again, Vickiejean, for another one of your amazing blogs. Can't wait to see Celebrity Apprentice tonight.

Great blog! I missed a couple minutes of the show so it's always great to get the details right away from here.

Anyway, I found Chelsia's meltdown and eviction speechs very entertaining from the viewpoint of a reality television watcher. It reminded me of the classic Rats and Snakes speech from Sue on the first season of Survivor.

I can't really fault Chelsia for going off on Natalie. Breaking the eggs was stupid but Natalie needed reminding that she's not this innocent, holier-than-thou person. Of course, that part of the tirade was cut out of the broadcast, what with the references to Nat's under-the-blankets oral ministrations on Matt during her first week in the house being brought up. Which means we also don't get to see Nat lying through her teeth about those incidents, unaware that Matt told Ryan and Adam about what she was doing and encouraged them to fake being asleep so they could see it happen.

Oh well, at least now that Natalie isn't trying to get Matt to like her, she's starting to play the game. Here's hoping that her HOH term is interesting.

Hey Darclyte, We kinda like Nat over here. Of course, we're not subjected to all her religious talk on regular air days. I do admit that Chelsia was different. I just hope she's up to the really horrific press she's going to get once she's outside. She is very young.

Hi Mannie, You can read up on Chelsia or go to Youtube if you want to see her in action. She was really being nasty to Natalie, above and beyond even ED's antics. I agree that several of the HGs this season seem to think that if they act like Evel, they'll be really popular. They're in for rude awakenings I think.

Hi karrosfan, Yes, Chelsia's Dignity Pony went out with the egg incident (not to mention many others). Maybe they seriously don't realize how much of what they say and do is broadcast...like ALL of it! I think I'll enjoy watching Nat as HOH. She's got an interesting take on everything.

Hi ZZZs! Thanks! I keep up with a DVR and VCR these days. They've overloaded my schedule and these are shows I'd watch anyway. I don't know why she made that comment to Shelia or any of them to be honest. It was just mean. And if I'd been Julie I would have been terrified to talk to her at all the way she was crying and giggling at the same time. I hope they don't think of the POV thing either! I'm ready to see James go away.

Hi Kelly, I wondered if they showed all of ED's visit. It would be interesting to know what he said to them. From his interview last week I didn't think he was very impressed with anyone except James and he didn't sound blown away by him. It might have been Dani's comment. I'm old and I can't remember. :) Yeah, I feel bad for the people who don't like Nat because it's going to be a long, annoying week.

Hi Theresa, Thanks! I think Nat has Josh's number. She was just determined to break up Chelsia and James. I can't wait to see how he tries to kiss up to her to save his behind. That business with the eggs is really going to embarrass her when she gets out and watches it. It looked so childish.

Hi Ranger, Yeah, we had that same reaction here to Nat mainly because she stayed away from Chelsia's fit. Sharon too for that matter. It's going to be an interesting week with Nat at the top no matter what. I looked down and saw ZZZs explanation about the POV. I'm commenting here in order and I didn't stop to think how that would work! :)

Hi April, See, I felt the same way about Chelsia. She got this "look" on her face right before her tantrum and it worried me a little. It was like she was having a breakdown or something. I have a feeling she's going to do that growing up when she sees the show, the press hits her and the fallout starts. A LOT of these people are going to be facing that at the end of the game.

Hi Bookgirl, Goes to show you how much CBS is manipulating those of us who are just watching broadcast this season. Nat will find that kind of thing biting her in the rear later. She really is an enigma to a certain extent. I wonder why they're making her seem so nice? Have a FANTASTIC and SAFE vacation!!!!

Hi Lady, Thank you. I'd love for someone to give me some money. I have a wedding to help pay for! LOL! Chelsia and James are both SOOOO young. At her age I had been married over a year and had a baby. I feel like my hubby and I were so much more mature at that age. That Natalie has her fans and her detractors. Seems that most who don't like her watch BBAD on Showtime or the live feeds. CBS must be editing her well. Thank you much. I'm excited about CA tonight too! And Survivor!!!! Have a wonderful day!
