Supernatural Un-Book Club Thank You
I love a good book.
Who are you kidding?
Hello all! With the return of first-run Supernatural episodes *glee* it’s time to take a break from the “Un-book” Club. I would like to take this time to thank everyone who has “hosted” one of these get-togethers as well as all who have participated in the discussions. I’ve really enjoyed the discussions and having a “new” chance to return to some of my favorite episodes. I’m figuring we’ll start up again in the summer once we’ve all had a chance to process whatever Kripke and company throw at us in the next three weeks. Coming up in the summer, we have Shutterbugs hosting Heart, Mary hosting Salvation/Devil's Trap/IMTOD, Cindy hosting Croatoan/Hunted and Kitty hosting Nightmare. If any of you would like to “book” a weekend now, please PM me. Also if anyone else is interested in hosting, please let me know. Something to think about is that just because an episode has been done, it doesn’t mean that you can’t return to it. For example, I did WiaWSNB, but I focused on the mind of Dean Winchester. Someone else might want to take a look at the use of light and shadows or the use to color to accent Dean’s trip “over the rainbow”. In fact, the next time that I’m up, I’m going to pick a scene from WiaWSNB and compare it with a scene from another episode. Just a little food for thought. I think I’ve figured out how to do a sticky-post in LJ, and will put one up with links to all the Un-Book Club posts. Again, thanks to all of you, and see you all this summer!!

Thanks, Teach! It feels like I'm being let out for summer vacation...
Really, though, thanks for coming up with this- it's always nice to revisit old favorites. They take on a different coloring when you look back on them a season or so later. It's been really fun!

As much as I love Supernatural I have never gotten into deep analysis of it. Oh, I occasionally will scratch the surface. The show is a pure joy for me to watch since it never suffers from timidity and it bounds forward into areas I find really interesting. I therefore love the stand alone episodes maybe more than the mythology episodes. I do love to read other peoples ideas on SN. But I mostly read and don't comment too much. I would feel ill equipped to host a unbook club - but I'll read them and maybe venture an occasional comment.
Love those picture captions, BTW!

You're welcome, Met! Consider it a "pre-summer" hiataus!

Welcome Panns- since I was one of the first hosts, I would be willing host one again if the summer get too long. [like I know it will] I don't have any ideas just yet. I'll let you know if something comes to me.

You are welcome Arafel, and we are always happy to see you stop by the "club". Or should that be "clubhouse"? We look forward to your comments in the summer!
(After I recover from the "storm" that will be the last three episodes! Aw, who am I kidding? I probably won't recover until next September, but that's why I'm here in the first place, isn't it.)
