Supernatural: What about Jensen in Long Distance Call?

Let's talk about Jensen!!!!

My favorite moment from last night's episode, Long Distance Call, had to be the last scene between Sam and Dean. Jensen did a superb job emoting and sharing his feelings and then his response to Sam's comment - "and me" - was priceless.

Please share your favorite Jensen moment... :-D

Hi ocean. I have to say that this episode really moved me. My fav. Jensen, or Dean moment actually, was in the opening scene with the boys when Sam calls him out for not telling him about Ruby and Dean replies with "do you really want to talk about who's keeping secrets?" Damn - when those boys start getting into it, things get so intense.

Hey Ocean- Jensen was soooo good at portraying the angst in this episode. My heart broke for him. He wanted to believe that it was his father and there was a way out so badly.

I loved watching to double fight scenes. Dean just throws his whole being into the fight. He's awesome to watch. Sam's not bad either!

Oh man. When Dean admits that he's scared. *smishes him*

Also? At the end when Sam says Do you want a poem? & Snarky!Dean comes back with Moment's gone., then hands Sammy a beer. OH BOYS!!!

Hearing Big Daddy's voice just killed me. I wish we could have seen him as well.

I seriously loved the aliases of Campbell & Raimi...that made me flail in a big way.

Hi Ocean,

My favorite Dean moment was when he told Sam how scared he was. And when he wanted to believe it was really his dad on the phone. I wanted to believe it too.

Hey Hoggle! I loved this episode as well. I have a feeling it's one I'm going to be rewatching often. I agree - when Dean called Sam out regarding secrets, it broke my heart. There are so many secrets between these two boys that I just want to smack them and hug them at the same time.

Hi Brit! He wanted to believe that it was his father and there was a way out so badly.

It broke my heart watching him plead the case to Sam, and Sam not buying it. :(

Dean just throws his whole being into the fight. He's awesome to watch. Sam's not bad either!

Those boys certainly are awesome fighters! John taught them well. :-D

Rap: Hearing Big Daddy's voice just killed me. I wish we could have seen him as well.

When I saw JDM's name in the credits, I thought FOR SURE we were going to see him.

At the end when Sam says Do you want a poem? & Snarky!Dean comes back with Moment's gone., then hands Sammy a beer. OH BOYS!!!

That was just awesome! At first, I was like, what did Sam ask him??? And then I rewatched and laughed my head off. :-D

Hi Marci!

My favorite Dean moment was when he told Sam how scared he was.

Oh, that's a really good one. I love when we get Emo!Dean. He never would have admitted that he was scared in Season 1...look how much he's grown.

And when he wanted to believe it was really his dad on the phone. I wanted to believe it too

So did I, even though deep down I knew it wasn't really him. John never would have said I love you to Dean.

This is one I plan to rewatch many times too. When I left home this morning, it was downloading on my computer.

I loved this entire show. For me, at least, it was a huge improvement over last week -- we got the boys back! All the brotherly moments, the angst.

I had two favorite Jensen/Dean moments: When he fired back at Sam about secret-keeping, and when he admitted he is scared. *hugs him*

Ocean - I know - the secrets kill me too, especially because it totally prevents the boys from really understanding things. I mean, for God's sake, Dean needs to know about Mary and the demon blood and everything. That stuff could be important.

Oh, another favorite moment - Dean simply sitting at the table in yet another crappy motel room, willing his phone to ring. He just has so much pain for someone so young, you know?

I'm with everyone else- my favorite Dean scenes bookended the episode- Dean calling Sam on secret-keeping at the beginning and admitting he was scared at the end.

He wanted to believe that it was his father and there was a way out so badly.

It broke my heart watching him plead the case to Sam, and Sam not buying it.

Brit and Ocean- This just broke my heart, too. Was anyone else reminded of HOTH? This episode mirrored that one so strongly, but with the boy's positions reversed, that it took my breath away. This time it was Dean who was going on faith, and Sam was the skeptic.

How sad that in both cases the one who needed to believe so badly was the one who turned out to be wrong...

Oh, one other thing that really caught my attention last night-

Jensen and Jared both kicked butt in their individual fight scenes- how cool is it to see them both fighting independently of each other at the same time? I have to give kudos to the editor on that scene. He/she edited that sequence to perfection. The way it snapped from one brother to the other was great and you never lost track of who was doing what. Well done!

Ocean--John never would have said I love you to Dean.

I know! I thought for sure Dean would be like WTF? Like in Devil's Trap when Demon!John doesn't bitch him out for using one of the magic bullets! *pauses to perv on Demon!John*

That just goes to show that with The End looming over his head, Dean isn't 100% on his game. *pets him*

The Evil!ClockofDoom! made another appearance in this episode.

Hoggle- That jumped out at me, too. It's just a little 2 second snippet to close the scene, but in that 2 seconds you can see in Dean's body language the weight of the world and his desperation crushing him down.

Can that man act, or what?

John never would have said I love you to Dean.

I knew that line rang false, along with the "You're my boy," but I was just as much in denial as Dean was and didn't let it compute.

Met - You're right about the fight scenes. I kept waiting for Dean to show up to save Sam, but kudos to the writers for letting Sam save himself.

Gaby: For me, at least, it was a huge improvement over last week

You're not alone. It's not that I didn't like last week's episode, it just hasn't grown on me yet.

Hoggle: I mean, for God's sake, Dean needs to know about Mary and the demon blood and everything. That stuff could be important.

No kidding! I wonder if that is going to end up being the key to saving Dean.

Dean simply sitting at the table in yet another crappy motel room, willing his phone to ring. He just has so much pain for someone so young, you know?

Oh, that was just awful. I wanted to give the poor guy a hug.

Met: Was anyone else reminded of HOTH? This episode mirrored that one so strongly, but with the boy's positions reversed, that it took my breath away. This time it was Dean who was going on faith, and Sam was the skeptic.

That is such a great point. I didn't think of HOTH as I was watching it, but you are spot-on with that. I knew when they were talking about faith that it was familiar, but I couldn't place it.
