Jensen Ackles As Dean Winchester
The 2008 Emmy Awards are fast approaching and one of the brightest talents gracing our TV screens today, actor Jensen Ackles has made the list of actors placed on the nomination ballot.

Ackles, a boyishly handsome 30 year old who hails from Richardson Texas and currently stars as Dean Winchester on the hit CW/Warner Bros series Supernatural, along with co-star Jared Padalecki who plays Sam Winchester, has placed 28th on the ballot and is in the Category of 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Dramatic Series.'

Ackles, who began his acting career starring in the daytime Soap Opera Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady and moved on to roles in successful series such as Dawson's Creek and Smallville landed the role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural three years ago. Since then viewers have been privy to have seen this talented and versatile young actor light up the screen with his dynamic brotherly chemistry with co-star Jared Padalecki, his flair for drama and his sense of comedic timing as his character Dean Winchester has undergone some very dramatic, sometimes funny and sometimes harrowing experiences culminating with Dean being forced into keeping a deal he made to trade his soul into hell for the life of his brother Sam in the third season finale.

Ackles is currently in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area filming the horror flick , My Bloody Valentine: 3Din which Ackles plays Tom Warden, a mentally unstable young man who has returned to his home town ten years after a series of 22 brutal murders were committed and finds himself as the lead suspect in those killings. I've got everything crossed that can be crossed! That would be wonderful news. Both he and the show deserve the recognition.

I wonder what episode of Supernatural was submitted for this? I love them all, but many "dean"centric episodes such as The Kids Are Alright would have been my recommendation.

I truly hope the Emmy nominators will consider Jensen Ackles for an award this year. He's been overlooked far too long, and deserves recognition for his outstanding work.

Jensen is absolutely marvelous as Dean Winchester. He brings that character to life with every fantastic performance. I've just never been so taken with a TV show character before. Viewers care deeply about what happens to Dean Winchester because Jensen makes him so real.

As Dean, Jensen is utterly convincing, sweet and funny, devilish and charming, loving and caring, heroic and dangerous, determined and committed, and -- great for the younger gals -- sexy to boot. I've watched him deliver consistently terrific performances, often without even opening his mouth.

He absolutely deserves that Emmy!

with the movie's red carpet premiere tentatively scheduled to be held in the Pittsburgh area

Whoo-hoo! Another Pittsburgh perk! Now I just need to find a date as obsessed appreciative as Jensen's body talent as I am. ;)

You all know I love me some Supernatural, and that I think Jensen is more than deserving of Emmy's, SAG's, Golden Globes, and all other acting awards, but I have to rain on the parade here for a minute. Jensen isn't yet on the "short list" of nominees; he's just on the main ballot. There are currently 58 names submitted in the Lead Actor in a Drama category; the short list of ten has yet to be tallied and announced.

Another downer: Jared didn't submit his name in either the lead actor category or the supporting actor category. I wonder why.
