Pilot News: Eric Stoltz To CAPRICA, Peter Berg To Direct VIRTUALITY
Hello Folks!
Even though the upfronts are upon us, there's still stuff to report from the development department.
From the Hollywood Reporter:
- Eric Stoltz and Alessandra Toressani (aka Alessandra Toreson) have both joined "Caprica", Sci-Fi's prequel to its hit show "Battlestar Galactica". Set about 50 years before the events of "BSG", the new show is about the evolution of the Cylon race and the rivalry between two families. Stoltz plays Daniel Greystone, a wealthy computer engineer, who, after a family tragedy, uses his knowledge to forever change the future of Caprica. Toressani will play his daughter, Zoe.

From Variety:
- Peter Berg, creator of NBC's "Friday Night Lights", among other things, has come aboard as director and one executive producer of FOX upcoming drama project "Virtuality". Production of the pilot was hindered by the writers strike, but looks now to be on the faster track with Berg attached. Written by Ronald D. Moore and Michael Taylor ("Battlestar Galactica"), the show centers on a long-term NASA mission and a virtual reality world without limits.
