CBS Cancels MOONLIGHT, SHARK; Renews UNIT, HIMYM, OLD CHRISTINE
This is a really bad day for the fans of "Moonlight". CBS has canceled the freshman show, along with "Shark", who disappears from the airwaves after two seasons, the Hollywood Reporter and TV Guide's Michael Ausiello report today.
However, renewals were handed out as well. "The Unit", "How I Met Your Mother" and "The New Adventures Of Old Christine" all got the nod for another season.
Confirm here and here.

Nooo! I'm very about HIMYM but I'm very sad about Moonlight! That's a shame.

While not a fan of a couple of the renewals, I'll miss both "Moonlight" and "Shark". It's a tough market out there.

My sympathies goes out to all of the Moonlight and Alex O'Loughlin fans who are reading this.

Uh, I meant to say I'm very happy about HIMYM but sad about Moonlight. Obviously I'm so sad I skipped a word there!

I never really could get into Moonlight, but there were plenty of people who I blog with here on a regular basis that love that show...for them this is a true shame.

Does this mean they'll take the shows off the website soon? There are a few eps of Moonlight that I missed because it was on against FNL. I need to catch up before they're gone!

Famin -- They kept the Jericho eps up long after they announced its cancellation. Maybe they will treat Moonlight the same way.

Thanks for the empathy, Rob. Now I know how you felt when Jericho was canceled. I thought, with all of the buzz about the show and Alex, it had a good chance of being renewed. I'm very, very disappointed; it was my favorite new show of this season.

I watched the pilot of Moonlight and didn't care for it so I dismissed it. Then I was at home Friday night (I called in "sick" to my part time job - I'm bad!) and I watch Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs so I just left the TV on in between. And I enjoyed Moonlight this time! As others had said it had grown into its own and improved. That's a shame CBS isn't giving it another chance as I think it could do well. I might have even given it a shot on a regular basis.
Sorry to all of you who were diehard fans. You have my condolences!

Crap! My TV watching schedule is getting lighter and lighter. All my favorite shows are getting booted out. Men in Trees, New Amsterdam, and now Moonlight.
The only must-see shows I still have are Supernatural, Friday Night Lights and Eli Stone.
I am not a happy camper right now. At all.

Thanks, IG. Moonlight had improved so much since the sucky pilot. I think you would have really liked it. I stuck with it because of Alex O'Loughlin, whom I had fallen in love and lust with when he was on The Shield last year. But the show did keep getting better and was particularly strong in the post-strike episodes. Network suits are a strange species of animal life.

Thanks, Megan, for reminding me that I have something to be happy about. I love both of those shows too and am delighted that they will be back.
