CBS Buzz: METALIST, 11TH HOUR Get Pickups; UNIT, MOTHER Return, SHARK Gone
CBS is considered one of the toughest networks to predict when it comes to upfronts, but bits and pieces about their upcoming schedule are leaking out.
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that The Simon Baker starrer "The Mentalist" is considered a lock for fall, as is the new Jerry Bruckheimer drama "Eleventh Hour", which has already begun hiring staff writers.
Also looking good are dramas "Mythological Ex", *Can Openers" and "Harper's Island".
According to Variety, CBS is considering a second comedy block, possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. "Worst Week", the untitled Mike Birbiglia project and "My Best Friend's Girl" are strong contenders for a pickup. "How I Met Your Mother" is considered a lock for renewal, and "Rules Of Engagement" shoould see a third season. "The New Adventures Of Old Christine" is a possibility for midseason, if CBS keeps it. Otherwise, it might move to ABC.
"The Unit" is expected to make the cut, as is "Moonlight", while "Shark" is probably not swimming back.
None of it is official yet, as CBS is expected to make its pickups and renewals today,
