Calleigh's time to shine
Next Monday's episode is called: "Stand Your Ground". Synopsis: An attempt on Calleigh's life puts both her professional and personal life in jeopardy....
Frankly, how many Calleigh-themed episodes have we seen during the past 5 1/3 seasons? Correct us if we are wrong but there can't be more than three.
We fondly remember episode "Under the influence" when Calleigh's father thought he had killed someone. Emily Proctor as Calleigh Duquesne handled the difficult balancing act between her duties as a CSI and her family ties as the suspects' daughter competently.
Nice to notice that the unique Stetler -will grace the TV-screen again. we hope he will have more than 3 minutes screen time. He is a real asset to the show.
Our wish-list for the upcoming episode is very short: *Lots of Calleigh. *A well written story with lots of suspense (and a bit of angst) and *very little of HoCaine for once in a while.
All those fed up with the constant HoCaine drama will be looking forward to the up-coming episode. It is a nice reminder that the show has very talented female cast members to offer - and not only the one dimensional David Caruso......

I am really looking forward to this episode. Calleigh is by far my favorite character on the show. I really liked the shows with her back story especially the ones with her Dad. I've been hoping they would bring her Dad back for an episode or two. I also liked the episodes where she and John Hagen were first developing a romance. Of course, that didn't turn out very well.
I just hope that they don't do something terrible to her. The promos made it sound like someone might be accusing her of being an alcoholic like her Dad.
By the way, is Stetler the guy that was abusing Yelina and now he's straightened himself out or am I thinking of someone else?

Calleigh has had a nice character developed during the last seasons. She got more depth now . I always liked how she handled the alcoholism of her father.
Yes, Stetler is the IAB guy who dated and abused Yelina. Not nice but part of who he is. However, during seasons 4 and 5 the writers have mellowed him down quite a bit. I wish he would get more screentime. The show needs characters like him. He is a welcomed anti-pole to HoCaine whose "taking the law into his own hands" is mildy disturbing.

I agree with you. The more people - Stetler, the Prosecutor, etc. - who challenge Horatio's "code of justice" the better. As always, I look forward to reading your recap on this Monday's episode.

I used to really like CSI:Miami. I liked the characters, the actors playing the characters, the plots, the scenery... all of it. The past...oh, I don't know... three years it has deteriorated into something I watch more for laughs than any other reason. All of the acting has been reaching ever lower levels so that when you mentioned Calliegh shining, my thought was: Yeah, but that's all she does. She's shiny -- pretty to look at but not much else. It is a shame.

Yes, somehow along the way (6 seasons) Calleigh and Co have lost what made their characters so loveable: being unique. Now they are all just interchangable sterotypes.
