Funniest Moments on TV: The Office, Samantha Who, The Bachelor and More
Attention Seinfeld fans: Sony Pictures released Season 9 — the final season — on November 6. In honor of the comedy classic, here's a tribute to some of the funniest moments on TV lately. The "Hello, Newman" Award: Though she's a reformed — thanks to amnesia — bad girl, Samantha Who's Samantha still knows how to get a frosty reception. When she reported for bridesmaid duties at supposed friend Valerie's wedding, the bride tossed a drink in her face and ordered someone to "get that b-tch out of here" without even breaking a stride. The Costanza Family Awkward Moments Award: The Bachelor's Brad whittled the competition down to the final four and hometown dates ensued. There was an embarrassment of cringe-worthy moments: Getting schooled by Jenni's cranky granny; the spacey ramblings about the stars and "the one" and "the eyes" from Sheena's mom; the ouzo-fueled Greek tragedy, uh, dancing at DeAnna's family gathering. Bettina's kin, however, flattened the competition with an awesomely awkward airing of grievances. Brad squirmed as Bettina's dad, a professor, questioned the college dropout about his education, which the dad later told the cameras was a "great appointment." Bettina's stepmom shared how she feels about Bettina "being hooked up with a guy who runs a bunch of bars" (Hint: Not good.) Brad's attempt at humor was met with icy glares and he was tag-teamed by both Bettina's stepmom and mom who accused him of stringing Bettina along. Oh, it was painful, but funny. Festivus came early this year. The Sponge-Worthy Award: A few years ago, Grey's Anatomy would have won this award, but that was then. (Not to mention, a few years ago this two-week old award didn't exist.) There's a bug going around The Office ... a love bug. The Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch is a frisky bunch. Jim and Pam; Michael and Jan; Ryan, Kelly and Darryl; Dwight, Angela and Andy. Move over McSteamy, it's all about McReamy.
The "Well, I'm not going to eat a cake with a hair on it," Award: No offense to oppressed French peasants, but what's the big deal about eating a little cake? And you know who really doesn't like to eat cake? Models. Which is why it took America's Most Smartest Model contender Mandy Lynn forever to eat her cake, "I have a small tummy," she protested. "No, I'm really so full," she whined. "Too, too much." she whimpered before giving up entirely. You gotta love a show where they penalize models by making them eat cake. Maybe Mandy Lynn would have liked a nice chocolate babka. For the Season 9 trailer, pre-orders and more, check out http://www.sonypictures.com/tv/shows/seinfeld.
And check back here next week for a new round of awards.
