How I Got My Shows... (Part 2)

So, in my last blog I talked about how I got my Nickelodeon show Beyond the Break. (By the way, the second season starts this Friday night! So make sure to TiVo and watch.)

But I wanna tell you how I became the new face of G4... I got a call from my hosting agent one day about an audition. Just like any other day, this was just another audition. I went into G4, not knowing exactly what the audition entailed. I saw a bunch of pretty girls sitting reading scripts and primping with their compact mirrors. I looked over the script briefly, but in hosting auditions, I usually try not to overthink and just go in and be myself. My name was called and I went into a very small room — there was a camera, a camera operator and the casting director. They had a script for me to read and then asked me to improv stuff about entertainment headlines — I think I talked about Britney driving with her baby in her lap.

A week later my agent called and said G4 wanted to see me for another show, Formula D. Same thing as the first audition, except this time I knew I had an edge on the competition. Formula D is about the sport of "drifting." It originated in Japan, where I grew up, and my little brother is a drifter. They threw out a lot of Japanese words and I had no problem throwing them right back out there — it was definitely my show to lose.

Then a week later, I got a call that they wanted me to go in again. I went in a tank top and jeans, no makeup. But, I didn't know I'd be on set with my future co-host doing a screen test! So, they put me through a little makeup and threw me in front of the camera. I had immediate chemistry with Kevin and felt really great about the experience. Not long after that, I got the call that I not only booked Formula D and Attack of the Show, but became the new face of the network... and my life hasn't been the same since.

Life at G4 is so much fun. I get to travel the world, hang out with great people and my mom gets to see me on TV everyday. :-x

Good thing G4 doesn't have Olivia write anything, because it definitely isn't her strong suit. That "blog" was one long, barely coherent, ramble.

I miss Sarah Lane. She could actually go toe-to-toe with Kevin, unlike Miss Munn.

Cool. Seems appropriate that you had such a pretty easy time with the auditions, you really seem made for these hosting jobs on G4. I assume you are still going out for more auditions, so while I wish you the best of luck with them I hope they do not pull you away from G4.
