The Golden Globes and Playboy, Oh My!
Yes, the Golden Globe Awards were a couple of weeks ago and all of Hollywood has already moved on to the Oscars. But allow me to take a step back and tell you of my experiences at some of the Golden Globes after-parties.
I was standing outside one of the parties, about to walk in, when the fire marshall came to the door and said no one else would be allowed in. They were at capacity and we would have to wait for some people to leave; there were two large groups of people all dressed up, waiting to start partying. Standing next to me were stars from Grey's Anatomy, The Office and Desperate Housewives. I was definitely in good company.
Time was going by very slowly as we all crammed into this small area. I was looking around me and noticed that Dr. McSteamy is as gorgeous in person as he is on TV. As our patience started to wear extremely thin, a ray of hope shone through. We heard a security person yell for the entire mass of celebrities waiting to separate into two lines. Yes! We were goin' in. And then we heard him say something... something that no one was expecting — especially these Golden Globe-nominated actors waiting to get into their own party. The security person yelled, "Everyone, I need a center aisle! Paris Hilton needs to get in!"
Yes. It is true. Now, I would completely understand if this was a party to promote a cell phone or a new fruity vodka brand. But there were actual working, talented actors waiting to get into this party. A party that was dedicated to a night honoring talented, hardworking actors. Not for Paris Hilton. Some agents began complaining and trying to talk to the people handling the door, telling them how inappropriate that was. The response I heard was, "Well, it's a party. We can let in who we want."
Now, I'm not saying Paris shouldn't have been let into the party. And I'm not saying there was a problem with waiting for safety reasons. I didn't mind waiting. But, when I'm watching the cast members from great nominated shows standing around me get pushed aside, it's gets a little more than irritating.
Eventually, we were all let inside the party, and it was fine.
As great as that story is, it wasn't my favorite recent event. My Playboy Babe of the Month came out for the February issue. Babe of the Month is a celebrity profile page... and no, I'm not nude.
I am so excited to be part of a magazine that is so legendary. And my thrill of being in the magazine was topped off with a blog Playboy put up on its website about the great response the magazine has received about my page. It has so many beautiful people on its pages, it's nice to know that I made some kind of impression on readers.
Attack of the Show is still great and going strong. We're doing a lot of cool stuff, including heading to Amsterdam in April for some special shows. Make sure to tune in weeknights at 7 pm/ET on G4.
Okay, it's pilot season and I'm shooting everyday, so I have to get to bed. Good night!

Glad you had a good time at the Golden Globes. Get to meet any stars you always wanted to meet? I think its terrible that they would bump any real actor for Paris Hilton.
Congrats on the Playbloy picture. You looked great.

Hey I get the whole networking thing but was the party really worth all the hassle? I mean when you saw that they were letting Paris and some lame celebrity gossip blogger in ahead of you and the other actors did you ever think to yourself 'Do I really want to be hanging around these people that would start talking ish about you behind your back?'
And how did the pilot season go? Will you update the blog already?

Hi there! I'm so sad to see you haven't posted in months and months... I guess you're still busy. I don't know what all these people are saying about leaving G4... Personally, AOTS is one of the only things I watch on TV anymore. I even watch it more consistently than Colbert Report, which I love.
I mean, okay, maybe working at G4 isn't a job you keep forever, but it seems like a lot of fun, and I know I'd sure love to have it. Plus it seems like you and Kevin are good friends and it's always awesome to work with friends, right?
If you ever actually post here again or read the comments, I have a question, and hopefully it's not too personal: Do you work out at all besides surfing, or is that all you do to stay in shape? Because if all you do is surf, I really need to learn how to surf.
