Your Holiday Gift: Three Nights of My Boys

Hello!

First of all, I just want to extend a big, hearty thank-you to those of you who have written to let us know that you support the show. Clearly it worked, as we will be back in production next spring!

The airing of the last episodes will be a little different now, so I hope you can stay tuned.

This will be the schedule: All-new episodes will start at 10 pm/ET tonight and tomorrow night and the season finale will start at 10 pm/ET on Thursday night.

Some of you mentioned that you appreciate the Chicago "shout-outs" (as the kids say). We have some pretty die-hard Chicago fans on our writing team who would shoot the whole show there if given permission to.

So would I, actually. I visited the city for the first time before starting the show to get a feel for it, and I've since been back several times.

Well, in one episode, we make reference to a venue called the Hideout, saying that "Sam Winch's band" will be playing there. Sam Winch is a friend of our writer, Eric Gilliland, and has an amazing band, complete with an entire horn section.

In fact, Eric is actually featured whistling for them on some tracks. I tell you, you never heard whistling like this before. It's so hauntingly beautiful it breaks my heart. Yes, whistling.

Anyway, a few days ago I was having a drink with Betsy Thomas (our executive producer), and she told me that the owner of the Hideout called her to say, "Thanks for the mention and, by the way, Sam Winch will, in fact, be playing here on Dec. 28."

So if you are in the Chicago area, stop over at the Hideout and check out Sam Winch's band. (Just make sure to record the season finale!) It will be a great night for sure.

So glad to hear you are enjoying the show. Best wishes for this new year!

Thanks for the update! When I first heard about the season finale I thought the worst. I thought that they were just ending the show and billing it as a seson finale! It seemed kind of sudden, but I guess it wasn't really that sudden since they show two episodes a week. I can't wait for the finale and then for the new shows!

I am really going to miss this show, it is nice to look forward to a show again. While I love that we are getting so many episodes this week, it sure seems like it is over before it got started. I am so glad to hear there will be more episodes. That is the best news (tv wise) that I have heard in a long time.

Thanks again for the inside views.

I hope the writers haven't considered getting rid of Trouty, he adds some bizarre twists to the show, expecially in Tuesday night's 2nd episode where we found out how he got his name.

Best show on T.V. period. I am so glad I gave it a chance and watched from the beginning. No doubt the best cast and writing on the air today. What a relief to read you guys will be back next year. I Can't wait to see what the writers do with these characters.

Jordana, you are the best. Perfectly cast for this part and you just make the show come alive.

I look forward to seeing the finale tonight, but will greatly miss you guys until next year.

Jordana, just watched the season finale and I'm dying to know what happens. Thanks so much for the blog and letting us know what's going on behind the scenes! I adore the show - quite possibly my new favorite!

Jordana, the finale was great and what a super week of getting to watch 5 episodes!! Its a show my husband and I watch together and neither of us even like sports. You and the boys (and Stephanie) make it such a fun show. You're the girl many of us wish we could be - gorgeous, smart, and fun!

Oh, and the ending of the finale? HOT!!! What a tough job you have:)

I'm forcing everyone I know to catch up on the reruns before the show returns this summer. I've really enjoyed your blog. Congratulations on such a successful show!! See you in the summer!

Loving the show!

One question - why did they decide to burn off five new episodes in one week? That seems odd.

Can't wait to see you again in the spring!

Jordana - I managed to find most of the "boys" on myspace (very friendly, some of them even messaging me! How nice!) but couldn't find you. Do you have a myspace page?

Jordana, I love the show and the season finale was great. Thanks for the blogs. I love the Chicago setting, even though I've only been there once. It's just nice to see a show not set in New York or anywhere else on the East Coast.

Hey Jordana! I just wanted to say that I love the show! It's the first show I've actually kept up with in a couple years! My father works with your brother- and don't worry- he's very big on the support and keeping people informed! I wouldn't have known about your stint on Connan if not for him!!
Can't wait til next season!
