Eagerly awaiting week no. 2 of My Boys
Hey again — I hope you all enjoyed the first two episodes of My Boys and are waiting with baited breath for another installment. Well, let the hour-by-hour countdown begin because Tuesday is finally here! Thinking about the first of this week's episodes (Episode 102: "Team Chemistry"), I immediately go to this one scene at the bar (go figure) where Kenny (Mike Bunin) and Mike (Jamie Kaler) are having a tiff. Mike is jealous because Kenny is spending more and more time with Bobby (Kyle Howard). They actually improvised a lot of that scene. The dialogue was very funny as it was, but they just kept building on it. They seemed to make it snarkier with each take until they ended it on Bunin's ad-libbed line, "Drink until you like yourself," and Kaler's response, "That's a lot of drinks." Jamie and Mike are great improvisers together. Mike has been a regular performer at the Improv Olympic West for eight years. You can actually catch his show every Saturday night if you are in the Los Angeles area. He is also the drummer for an Irish comedy band called The Mighty Regis Philbin. (You can look them up through MySpace under the band's name.)
Jamie is a well-known stand-up comic here in Los Angeles. You can find out about his upcoming gigs on his MySpace page (under Jamie Kaler). I highly recommend seeing any of their shows. The second episode that we will be airing for your viewing pleasure is called "The Slump." In a nutshell, the gang is down and out because none of us can score a date. This episode was actually the first episode we shot after we shot the piIot. I really like the performance of one our guest stars, Adam Kulbersh, in this episode. He has only one monologue in the whole show, but he kept cracking everyone up each time he did it. Just a really funny, good guy. Anyway, I hope you check out this week's new episodes — and, if you don't, that you at least set your TV to TBS before you go off and do whatever it is you're doing. My best to you, Jordana

JORDANA aka PJ "The Babe",
I'm impressed - good show!
I keep the TV on when I'm in the office late. Usually shows don't distract me; but a couple weeks ago I got sucked into "The Bachelor." I procrastinated from work, found a message board and posted something for the first time. This is my second time using a "blog," so I got a good laugh out of your first blog - never having done this before (Oh, if I had a nickel for everytime I heard THAT!)
After watching the first 4 episodes of "My Boys," I'd say the show is...good. From what I read, the show is trying to develop into something like "Sex in the City." Even as a guy, I thought the first couple of seasons of SIC were good. Then it got a little much. It became difficult to relate to and empathise with the characters complaining about not being in a good relationship after they'd cheated on, dumped, or given up numerous decent guys.
With the ensemble "My Boys" has, with you being the only woman, I don't think that'll be a problem. But you are at a disadvantage from SIC since you're not on cable and have to watch what's said.
However, it's as if "My Boys" is on the fence. The first 4 shows have been good, but with the talent you and the cast have; the show could be GREAT. Hopefully the writers will make the dialog a little edgier, and less age specific. I remember having the same types of conversations when I was in my mid 20's but not now (mid 30's). So, I did like the twist the show took, with PJ going out for "cocktails" and meeting an older guy. Honestly, it seems like the show could go either way but can't stay where it is. I hope it continues to get better, and is picked up for the whole season. "My Boys" definitely has the potential of being something really unique.
As you said, "a couple points of business" So...You said for the right price you'd give women viewers info. on the male actors on the show. How about giving the male viewers info on the women on the show - Specifically the cute blonde!!!! You could still work for the CIA. There's no info about you out there Jordana!
Come on now...help your viewers relate. You never know...might have one of those boxes you were so interested in (BTW - nice marketing effort on that!) So....points of business Are you really a sports fan? Favorite sport? Are the Cubs really your fav. baseball team? When/where born? Single/Married/Kids? Hobbies? I've never used My Space but does the show have a page/link? Are you really "one of the boys"
Inquiring minds want to know!
Thanks for taking a peronal interest in the show's success and posting your blog. I'll look forward to the next episodes (and the "answers" in you next blog update!)
Thanks for the quality entertainment and best of luck. Scott

Hey Jordana -- I had heard a little of the buzz, and so FauxVo'd the repeats of the first two episodes, then repeats the second two, too. Now that I know when the first-runs air, I'll be trying to catch them at that time. Great show, my (16 year-old) daughter, husband and I all enjoyed it and watched together, which is a rare thing. Best of luck -- I really want this show to succeed!

This show is great! As a new resident of Chicago, big baseball fan, and poker player, I really enjoy those parts of the show. It truely does have a feel of people living in Wrigleyville!
I agree w/ Scott above, inquiring minds want to know more info on the talented Jordana!!
Best of luck and thanks for sharing info on the show!

Hey Jordana!
I like My Boys a lot. I've lived in Chicago all my life and I know every single place that is mentioned on the show. Every time a city or location is mentioned I feel like all of us should be meeting for some drinks.
All of my best wishes to you and everyone on the show!!
To your success!!
