Revenge Is Flipping Sweet

The first episode of Ex-Wives Club is one that I am particularly fond of because not only do we help our "man and woman of the week," but we throw a car out of a plane at 10,000 feet! The premise of the show is that we are trying to help a man and a woman get through what can be one of the hardest experiences of a lifetime: a divorce. These people were left broken and hurt, mad and sad, among many other emotions. How many of you out there can relate to a heart ache? All of us, right? We as humans seem to grow when we are in pain — what is up with that? What about growth when there is no pain? But that is a topic for a whole other show! So back to the first episode of Ex-Wives….

Debbie Ford puts them through a two-day, very intense crash course of what they did wrong in their relationship and what to do to get over it. I am talking hard-core, people — she tells it how it is. (I love that, by the way.) Then Marla, Shar, and I take over and give each person what they need to better their lives. We ask lots of questions and find out where their dreams and aspirations lie. Rebecca, for example, wanted to be a writer, so it was only common sense to get her a computer to put her words to work! We took her shopping and helped her feel beautiful. I even paid her ex a visit to let him know that it is not nice to call someone a b---h on their honeymoon. Let me tell you, I was shaking in my shoes, because I have never done anything like that before.

Then we flew her to Arizona for one last surprise. During her relationship she had competition — with a car. Yes, her ex-husband paraded his car around as if it was his pride and joy, leaving Rebecca feeling like she was in second place. As you can imagine, when we put her in front of the car she literally started backing up, almost as if she was afraid. To calm her nerves, we explained that this was the "revenge segment," as our producers like to call it. ABC bought the muscle car, we loaded it into a plane, took it to 10,000 feet and let her push it out of the back to a flipping death in the desert! Now that was fun! I have three hundred sky dives so it was right up my alley of extreme interests.

At the end of the show, each person comes back to the table to tell us about their experiences and how they have changed. I know I was touched deeply by each person that we helped. To see a difference in such a short time from them was so rewarding — I felt like Oprah! Now I can understand how lovely it is to give to those in need first hand. Thanks for taking the time to check this out and watch the show, Monday at 8 pm/ET on ABC!

You're obviously glad to be in the public eye again and getting a paycheck, but is this really the first time you've understood what it's like to give to people in person????? That is very very very sad. What a shallow life you've led.

Angie, ignore ignoramous, Elektra501. If you found something that does the double job of helping others and making you feel good, you go for it. People who are so petty that they can't see the good of what you ladies are doing are just happy being miserable. Leave them to it.

A disgusting idea for a show and one hosted by three of the most shallow "celebrities" available-and why wouldn't they be available. And Jackson isn't even an ex "wife". She's just an ex. And look at the creeps that two out of three of these women have been involved with-Donald Trump and Kevin Federline. I'd rather my daughter brought home a street mime.

Thanks for the blog post, Angie. I watched the show and I loved it. I'm always a sucker for shows that attempt to help people who are down on their luck and just need a hand up....the Oprah comparison rang true for me....I look forward to the next episode.

Please ignore the naysayers, some people will criticize whether you are good, bad or indifferent. Everyone knows that you could have chosen a really exploitative reality show, it's nice to see that you chose a better path.

Good luck to you, Shar and Marla!
